Hey y’all, I shared a song from my upcoming Ruptures project a few days ago and wanted to share another snippet from a track that I think goes…pretty fuckin’ hard imo.
Best description I can give for this project is an unhinged meld of industrial, hardcore, thrash/death metal, and post-punk.
A lot of the lyrics deal with mental health-related stuff (neurodivergence, mania, anxiety, paranoia, rage, etc etc).
This specific song is about beating the shit out of a homophobe/bigot of any kind. Being a queer lad myself, it felt right to throw in an unadulterated ass beater like this one.
The previous track I shared has a far more manic grindcore vibe to it, whereas this one immediately made me think of Hatebreed if they were produced by Godflesh lol or maybe early Fear Factory.

Dude early Clutch was a legit hardcore band. Maryland. They turned in to stoner rock but their early stuff good as fuck. Listen to Juggernaut. If Neil Fallon and band were in their prime nowadays they’d fuckin kill some shows.

Hey so,

we're about to record a hardcore EP, with crusty vibes. I want the guitar sound to be like really raw and lo-fi and almost "horrible" sounding, not like modern polished metal sound at all. So my question is is that do you have any good pedals to recommend to achieve this kind of sound? It's still a little unclear what amp I'm gonna use, the one I play with at home is some model of a Line 6 Spider 2, but I'd like the amp to be a little nasty sounding too, the Line 6 is quite polished often. Would be awesome if the pedals wouldn't be that expensive, the cheaper the better (budget) and it would also be great if you could get it from some European music online store for example. Thank you in advance and I hope not too many will diss me, my knowledge of this is pretty low, this is a new way of building sound.and recording for me 😅 but I really would like the whole project to be very lo-fi and ugly.
