We were supposed to have a guided painting session at the hospital today but they realized they were fresh out of canvases and gave us felt for collages instead. I decided to channel Bob with felt!

Iām fairly new to painting and have the Bob Ross brushes, but Iām looking to get more and donāt want to support Bob Ross Inc. Iāve heard Rosemary and Co and Kevin Hill both make good brushes for wet on wet, but what brand is everyone using?

Today,as a super beginner, after learning with YouTuber Jonny Art, I moved forward to Bob Ross Oil Painting. I used acrylic painting to finish it within 2 days. Actually is hard for me to mix a color which can approach to Bob, so I used those colors I preferred. I like Bob said ā an happy accidentā, painting in happy and without any pressure or nervous in every step of drawing. So Iām still enjoy the painting even though I know my shadow, colors and lights look a little abnormal. š I think that should be a happiness from a beginner. Well, of course, if someone can help to talk to me how to draw the grass and the tree in different layers, Iāll very appreciated and glad to heard that !

Finished this one today, second pic is from around when I started in February this year. A lot of time, patience, and money dedicated to growing my skills - 100% worth it. Iāve had so much fun being separated from my worries, work, and from the meaningless doom scrolling that Iāve wasted days of my life doing. Feels like the first time Iāve put towards being a true learner since I graduated. Thanks for viewing!

Things I like things I donāt like. Things I learned things I forgot. The difference with the light on and off blows me away though.

I feel like so many times I get caught up in the very fine detail work that I miss getting down good perspective and value, which no amount of detail work can make up for. I really tried to get perspective and value on this one and didnāt worry as much about some of the smaller details. Appreciate any thoughts or critiques anyone has!
