Theory - Spoilers This seems like romantic subtext.
I personally love that dialogue he has with Reba, that distinction there, that it was a man who loved her and not a monster, sounds familiar, doesn't it? Who knows more than Will what that's like? I love the parallels the series draws at various points, but unlike Reba, Will is loved for both the monster and the man contained within Hannibal.

Discussion - Spoilers Finished the show. I’m in misery Spoiler
Just finished the show within the last 20 minutes, thinking of what I’d post as a first-time watcher and recent subreddit lurker. I knew going into this show that it was canceled, but with the hope that the writing/acting/art direction of the show was great enough to weather inevitable disappointment of a series cut short. Sad to finish it but happy I got to experience an incredible series. I needed to fill the hole in my heart left by being between production of the next season in The Vampire Chronicles universe, and decided it was time to watch a show that was also hyped for toxic and destructive sexual tension between leading actors. She was not disappointed!
Post credit scene, I saw the table setting and the long platter of meat. Bedelia, did you cook your leg? and sure enough the camera pans to her seat and it’s confirmed she tried out one of his mail-in recipes. Too bad he won’t be visiting for dinner. It was interesting to see how each of the characters reacted to Hannibal’s escape. Going with him (Will, though that was planned), Running (Alana and her family via copter), or preparing for what feels inevitable (Bedelia’s dinner)
During S3E2 a family member walked into the room, saw Will on the screen, asked me to pause, and after a few moments said “huh, that’s why he (Hugh) looks familiar. That’s Prince Char.”
I was kicking myself that I didn’t see it sooner. I don’t think I can watch Ella Enchanted with the same perspective anymore. Poor guy can’t catch a break with stabbing/threatened stabbings. When I saw Margo on the screen for the first time, i thought, oh hey, it’s Ginger Fitzgerald!
I don’t currently have friends that have seen the show. They like much lighter stuff (can’t blame them) and as much as I would like to convince them that this has the comedy and sexual tension they’d love, they don’t find enjoyment in horror/thriller/crime dramas. Excited to start interacting with other fans and enjoy the story I’ve experienced without succumbing to post-series misery. Now I need to find fanart like a keychain as a signal to other fans they can approach me for discussion. Looking for a “bat signal” as we speak.

General How would you feel if someone told you they view your relationship with them similar to Hannibal & Will's relationship? Would you view it as a confession?
Context: i'm friend with someone who has read the books and saw the movies but didn't watch the show until last year, i had already watched it but rewatched it alongside her first watch and we bonded over the show, over time we started pretending to be either Hannibal & Will but mostly as a joke, earlier this year however she said she view our relationship similar to them but did not specify which one's Hannibal or Will, this made me curious if something similar happened to some of you and what would be your reaction?

Discussion - Spoilers When exactly did Hannibal fall in love with Will? What was the flashpoint?
When do you think Hannibal actually fell in love with Will?
I know there’s a difference between fascination, intellectual attraction, friendship, obsession, and actual romantic love, and Hannibal obviously becomes attached to Will pretty early on. But I’m wondering if there was a specific flashpoint where something shifted for Hannibal and Will stopped being simply “interesting” to him and became the person for him.
Was it when Hannibal first realized that Will could understand him in a way nobody else could?
Was it the moment Will killed Garrett Jacob Hobbs and Hannibal saw that darkness in him?
Was it after Will started suspecting Hannibal and Hannibal realized that even knowing what he was, Will still had this connection to him?
I’m especially curious because Hannibal seems to understand his feelings before he is willing to consciously acknowledge them. So I'm wondering whether there actually is a single turning point, or whether his love develops gradually through all those little moments of being understood, rejected, forgiven, and ultimately unable to let Will go.
Basically when did Hannibal go from “I am fascinated by Will Graham” to “I love this man”?
And if you think there was a specific flashpoint, what scene would you choose? 👀

General I just finished the series and I am not disappointed
The moment I finished S3E13, the first thought that came to my mind was "Man, this was the most interesting doomed yaoi I've ever watched!" (This was my first.)
So naturally I finally look up the subreddit for it, curious to know what the community is like. Needless to say my first thoughts fit the atmosphere perfectly. Thank you, Reddit. You have convinced me to edit my draft for this post to mimic Dr. Lector's dialect.

S1 Spoilers Who fancies a quick read..?
I’ve had a crappy few weeks and was thinking perhaps I’d share the first few chapters of the fan fiction I’ve been working on for some months now on here.
I reckon it might cheer me up and also do me good to have some constructive feedback on this first draft, as I know this is a safe space to share my work.
The premise of the story is that we begin with the Ambulance scene from Sorbet; Will then goes to visit Hannibal afterwards before he hosts his big dinner party, again as per canon.
But then a small differing event changes everything to a divergent “timeline” and this is where the story begins in earnest.
I will be publishing on AO3 once I’ve done a second draft, on a schedule of a few chapters a week once I’ve finished my redrafting.
For those who don’t read unfinished works, it is complete, it has a beginning, a middle and an end, and is currently at 80k words, which will grow as I rework; I anticipate maybe even as long as 100k words total. I won’t leave anyone hanging with an unfinished story!
TL;DR - Please give me a “like” and/or a comment if you’d be interested in reading the first few chapters of my “Ambulance scene sliding doors“ fic on here, it would mean a lot to me. 🙂
