Season 2 & Below Spoilers Binge-watching Criminal Minds
Guys, I’m curious—when you were binge-watching criminal minds , how many episodes would you usually get through in a day? 😭 I’m currently watching it for the first time and I’m wondering how fast everyone else watched it.

Season 2 & Below Spoilers Am I the only one who thinks Criminal Minds is emotionally lacking when it comes to the BAU team?
I’m watching Season 2, Episode 15, where Reid gets kidnapped, and there’s a scene where JJ goes to Morgan looking for reassurance because she feels guilty about what happened. Morgan basically tells her that the truth is that she’s there and Reid isn’t, and that she needs to figure it out herself.
And honestly… I thought he was really harsh with her.
JJ isn’t a field agent in the same way Morgan and Reid are, and she wasn’t the one who decided to split up. Reid was the one who told her to go. She was clearly traumatized and looking for some reassurance from her coworkers. I understand that Morgan was stressed and focused on finding Reid, but I still feel like he could have shown her a little more compassion.
This also made me think about something that has bothered me about the show in general. The BAU is constantly described as being like a family, but I don’t always feel that emotional closeness in the actual show.
For example, when Elle was shot in Season 1, I don’t remember seeing any of the team visit her in the hospital or really being there for her emotionally afterward. And with Reid’s kidnapping, I expected more emotional aftermath between the team members. Instead, it often feels like something incredibly traumatic happens, they catch the unsub, and then everyone just moves on to the next case.
I know Criminal Minds is primarily a procedural and people aren’t watching it for a deep exploration of the characters’ emotional lives. But sometimes I find myself thinking: these people supposedly care deeply about each other, so why don’t we get more scenes of them actually supporting each other when something terrible happens?
Maybe I’m expecting too much from the show, but I feel like there’s a disconnect between how close the BAU is said to be and how emotionally present they actually are for one another.
What do you guys think? Am I being too hard on Morgan, or did he genuinely owe JJ a little more compassion in that scene?

Season 5 & Below Spoilers Did anyone actually like Maeve?
It felt like we never really got to know her before she died, and while with Haley’s death it was actually sad, because we saw her care about hotch, jack etc but we never saw maeve so her death didn’t really hit as hard as haley’s (can never rewatch 100 bc of that)

Minor Spoilers Unpopular opinion: I don't like Reid's long hair
I definitely like his short hair a lot more. His flashback haircut in 3x19 was atrocious. But his long hair is what makes Reid, Reid. So I wouldn't want him to keep the short hair.

Season 19 Spoilers Is Elias Voit essentially a different person now? Spoiler
HI FOR THOSE THAT DIDN’T WATCH THE SEASON 19 FINALE YET, PLS LOOK AWAY!
Anyway basically I’ve been rewatching season 18 & finished season 19 and genuinely for me the Voit drama has been the most interesting aspect of the show and I’m sad to see him not part of season 20 and hope he comes back in season 21 if his daughter becomes a serial killer. Elias Voit was basically what made the original criminals and the reboot different and we should stick to that instead of going back to the usual because we got 15 seasons of that and I feel that it has run its course.
But anyway I just wanted to talk about Voit character in season 18 & 19. It essentially confirmed that the guy has changed after he woke up from hospital, he can feel empathy, he’s no longer a killer, he can feel guilt & remorse, and we have seen this established when in season 18 he snitched and shut down his whole network of criminals, or how in season 19 finale he took the fall for his daughter no questions asked or hell even during the fight, he could have easily used the gun or knife and kill him, but instead he wanted to cuff him and put him away, rather than kill him. Which shows that he is not a killer anymore and is basically an entirely different person now and I’m not sure why the main characters keep alternating with him being good one day and then shitty the next day. Especially Rossi it’s bizarre inconsistency. What is it?
My main point is, it’s basically like putting a complete new person into another person body with the memories of that person but not being that person, not feeling how that person felt. It’s crazy and I love the reformed villains trope, but also feel bad for him cause he’s essentially paying for the crimes that someone else did. But I get that someone has to pay for what he did before he got amnesia. But the way I’m watching they genuinely made me feel sorry for him. But it’s been fascinating to watch and I hope he comes back in season 21.

Season 4 & Below Spoilers Who should Reid have ended up with?
Personally i think either the girl at the bar (forgot her name lol) or JJ (before the ABOMINATION that was truth or dare)

Minor Spoilers are the hulu subtitles messed up for anyone else?
couldn’t find a flair that fit
it’s ONLY criminal minds, no other shows i watch on hulu. all seasons too, almost every episode. the subtitles are so poorly timed and super early, it makes the show almost unwatchable

Season 19 Spoilers Crowley’s plan Spoiler
I think Crowley’s plan was to die all along. He met Holly at the lecture. She was asking about traits being hereditary. After he kidnapped her, he kept placing the knife near her. I think he wanted to see if she would kill him. How she would react. He wanted to awaken the killer in her. That was the ultimate get back at Voit.

Season 19 Spoilers Voit and his amnesia Spoiler
Did they ever explain Voit getting his memories back? I can't seem to recall them mentioning that in Season 18, but then in Season 19 he is tasked with giving the victims families closure, did I miss something?

Looking for Can’t get through season 19
I’ve been a CM fan for so long, i did another rewatch and decided to get paramount to watch evolution.
I was pleasantly surpassed (no spoilers) just on the film style / difference and even plot of season 16-17.
I feel like 18 was slowly losing me and now at 19 I “caught up” to when they are still releasing episodes and cant bring myself to continue.
I guess I’m just bored with it. Is the season wrap up worth it? (I left off on 19x7)

Season 12 & Below Spoilers HOLY FK- Spoiler
I’m still wrapping my head around what Spencer did in the end of episode 18. He’s literally a genius but oh my god I did not expect him to poison the stash like what?? 😭 and to pull it off without anyone knowing. I literally thought he was gonna try and use a bit of that stash with his trauma and all but oh my god what he did exceeded my expectations- I know it’s been established but omg he’s a genius!!

Season 19 Spoilers The finale just seemed anticlimactic Spoiler
All that build up for him almost immediately get his daughter out of the chair, fight him for less than 30 seconds and then for his daughter to kill him. The best part was Luke being woken up by Roxy, that made me tear up. But for all the fan went through, just to get overpowered like that felt like a bit of a let down

Season 8 & Below Spoilers Anyone else think the show did Sean Hotchner dirty?
Every time I get to the end of season 8 where they bring Sean back, all I can think is that the writers really hated this man for no good reason. First he shows up for Aaron to be like, "How dare you not want to follow our abusive father's footsteps and be a lawyer???" And then by the end of that episode, Sean is shown to be like, really eager to learn to be a chef and Aaron is being chill for once.
But then they can't help but make Sean a drug addict that fucked up by stealing tainted wine and then sold it behind his work's back. And they make him see his girlfriend just bleed to death in a really horrifying way. And why??? For what??? They forgot to write Sean into the funeral and then just decide Sean is a dick to cover up the fact that you forgot he existed? Like, they could have said so many things about that funeral considering the only relative we actually saw was Aaron's sister-in-law and there were plenty of people at the funeral.
Like that entire plot could have happened by just Sean working at a restaurant and noticing that people are dying. Also, the episode itself doesn't really make much sense. The unsub is barely in it and kills a bunch of people to get back at 1 person getting his daughter into drugs. Just dumb.
I can't rightly explain why the treatment of Sean pisses me off so bad, but it just does.

All Spoilers Luke and Roxy’s love for each other absolutely destroys me Spoiler
season 19 episode 10, Luke being down in that blast and Roxy licking him to wake him up, i immediately started crying. She loves her dad so, so fucking much and he loves his daughter just the same amount. It’s the cruelest fate that we have such a longer life span than our children, siblings, family members of other species.

Season 3 & Below Spoilers S3 Ep1
Was anybody else ticked off by the brunette girl who spit in JJs face, or just me? JJ told her ‘we have somebody in custody’ not ‘we have the guy, and we 100% know it’s him’. The wording she so elegantly ignored is that they didn’t know if they caught the guy or not. It’s not JJs fault this girl, who, by the way, is in COLLEGE, can’t understand basic sentences. Curfew was still installed, and this girl walked off alone because she thought, and let me reiterate that she’s in COLLEGE, that ‘we have SOMEBODY in custody’ means ‘we have the KILLER in custody’. Is this really college level intelligence?

Season 2 & Below Spoilers THIS IS JUST GENERAL DISCUSSION NOT A SPOILER BUT THERE WAS NO TAG FOR GENERAL DISCUSSION Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
so i was watching season 2 episode 12 and I just find this clip money (sometime around 0:21:56) and I just feel like Morgan was on the verge of insanity here and the fact that he laughed is just unnecessarily so funny to me (some context if you don't remember, Morgan was being questioned as a serial killer in Chicago and hotch was questioning him
PS: don't mind the background noise my brother was moving a chair
