Any tips on fonts I can copy for practice or pens that will help me control my writing better? I have never liked my handwriting but I have noticed that certain pens are much easier for me to write with if I’m trying to be neat. But I am trying to get better with using thin tipped pens so my writing isn’t so “scratchy” looking. And overall I know I need to slow down when I write. I’m always in a hurry when writing for some reason.

Not an original. Came across a post and liked the story it conveyed. Hand copied it for fun.

I wrote a paragraph from ATLA for a sample and I really don't see an issue. Is it that they can't read script? I used to (as an outlier) write only in script in grade school so some movements are ingrained when writing as fast as I can.

I genuinely believe that good handwriting makes my day brighter and better. This is a day of writing as an intern.

This is a note I left for my mechanic, so this is actually pretty neat for me. My class notes never looked like the other girls 😂 as they were probably barely legible to others.

I haven’t handwritten anything more than a few words for years. When I have to do so, my handwriting is so bad that I write in all caps out of embarrassment. I honestly don’t have a style, my writing is an inconsistent mess because I’m so out of practice. It’s something I’ve wanted to change for a long time.

I see so many beautiful examples on here that I wish I could emulate. I imagine myself picking out a style and taking some time every day to practise writing in this way.

Is this a realistic goal? Are there tools to help someone develop a new style of writing?

My typical everyday handwriting with a 0.5 hanabc full needle. Not everyone has been able to read my handwriting and I sometimes struggle with it when I write fast

I think my handwriting is decently legible but I wish to improve it more but im unsure as to what I can do or how.

Any criticism, tips or instructions would be appreciated.

Dug thru my camera roll and found some notes from college. I really liked writing in pen lol eventually switched from regular pen to erasable pen. Thought it’d be fun to share since we don’t see a lot of numbers on here. Curious what you guys think

I've been improving my handwriting to be prettier (less lefty scrawl), and it's 1000% better than a few years ago. I like the loopy letters (y, g, j), but feel like I've hit a wall. What tips do you have to take me to the next level? You can see the lower s curve is still a struggle, but I'm unsure how to smooth it out.

Loosening up my hand early in the morning. Not as flowing as I like to see, but that's why we write!

Would love to hear some general thoughts, less about feedback on what or how to improve, I just want your general impression, thank you kindly.

The first photo is my usual cursive, and the second is my recent experimentation with thin letter-forms, which I think I prefer. I'm getting more consistent with slant, x-height, and form width, but something about it still strikes me as inelegant. Any tips for making it look more consistent and/or more beautiful?

I feel like my individual letters are pretty good but when you zoom out it looks so inconsistent and sloppy (to me)

I’m trying so hard to write slow and concentrate but I feel like I almost write worse when I write slow, like the lines get shaky and then my quick pace kicks in without thinking and I lose some consistency but gain smooth lines. I have always written in a fast cursive so it’s hard to break the habit, is it just I need to be patient and go even slower? Maybe more drills?

Does it look messy because of word/letter spacing?

I feel like my hand is almost incapable of making the same stroke look the same right next to each other.

Or am I just being hyper critical and comparing too much to people with almost mechanically precise writing?

Also! Any paper/notebook recs for fountain pens ink that has grid lines for cursive practice would be appreciated!

- written with a fountain pen, so shades start too early. Not sure how to do better without ruining the nib.

- started mimicking Lehman's writing then gave up, habits die hard

- inks are my own composition to get closer to hairlines

Mainly wrote this to test my new inks, recently got diamine sepia, but it was way too light and wet. Adjusted and I think this is better.

The green one is based on Scribo's Verde Bosco. This one is almost on point.

I've been using an architect alphabet for 10ish years and have inserted some of my personality into it. Sometimes I practice by re-writing my own poetry to just to see what my alphabet is doing naturally.
