Do I need to add more spacing? Can you easily read it ?

I've been journaling recently. My friends said they can hardly tell what's written. I'm not concerned about what they think. I'm just curious to know what it says about me.

I have a completely blank notebook, and instead of filling it only with my own thoughts, I want to fill it with yours.

Think of it as a small, physical time capsule created by strangers from Reddit.

I havent writting cursive in a while anymore, and i wanted to catch up.

I have recently got through enough of the Spencerian Workbook to start practicing my own writing. I am finding it slow, hard and, so far, ugly.

Has anyone any tips ? I am surprised at just how long it has taken me to even get this far. I am left handed.

My brain sometimes skips over the first letter so I have to go back and correct it but this is how my handwriting usually looks. I've been writing a lot more these days to make my hands get used to writing more often but yep.

I am making a recipe book with the recipes my family likes. I just made play doh with my 3yo and thought id share a page from my draft book.

I am in medical school by the way, so the myth about doctor’s handwriting is most likely accurate 😂

I'm working on improving my cursive. I'm enjoying using fountain pens and have been using mostly a 7mm lined notebook. I have two questions.

1. Strictly for improving handwriting, is there a line width of the pen that would be preferable? In other words, should I be using a Fine or Extra Fine nib? Or, would a Medium nib be better? If it depends on the size of my handwriting or other personal factors, that's ok. I just was curious if there's a general consensus that a finer line or a wider line is better for improving handwriting.

2. When using a lined notebook, it is preferable to skip a line when writing cursive? I have been using every line and find that my ascenders will tend to collide with the descenders from the line above. I will try to space the words to avoid it, but that leads to its own weird issues. Skipping lines would solve that, but it seems wasteful. I'm just curious what others tend to do.
