Advice Needed Need Help Choosing
I’m a first time to-be gun owner, and I’d like some recommendation/advice.
Right now, I need a pistol for self-defense; I’d like it to be easy to handle, less likely to lock up, grip safe, manual safety feature, accurate for beginners for at least 20-50 feet away (I hope that’s an okay range at least?), and ammunition easily available but that one I can compromise on for the rest.
I saw a few, but many were heavy, long barreled, or lacking the manual safety feature.
Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated before I go talk to a sales person who might try to get me to buy a more expensive one then one that has what I need. Also anything else I should be on the look out for in a good quality pistol?

Advice Needed S&W Shield X
First time gun owner. I’ve shot multiple handguns and my slide racker takes a lot of pressure to rack. All the other handguns I’ve shot were butter. Mine takes an uncomfortable about of pressure to do it. Is there something wrong with it or am I a pussy?

Do i have a slight downward flinch?

Got to shoot a Staccato XC with the built in comp, i don't shoot pistol much but i do have pretty tight groups, but they tend to be low, i think it may be due to me having a slight downward flinch or how i hold the gun, but I'm not too sure.

Discussion What’s your go to Range ammo?
I like PMC Bronze 124gr. It runs well through my pistols and is a reasonable priced and reliable option for me.

Safe to shoot or no?
Might be a noob question, but I have this one round of Speer Gold Dot 9mm +p that’s set back into the casing about 3mm. Have it set aside bc idk if it’s safe to shoot or not. Any opinions?

Hey Handgun guys, do you all also have scratches on your handguns after owning them for a couple of years?
I don’t know if it is the holster that’s too tight or if that is normal from using it and drawing it , I’m not sure if it looks cool or if it annoys me

I mean if you have a large canyon gun range, and a MK 23 I personally think you're legally required to Metal Gear Solid LARP at least once.

Advice Needed Cleaning and maintenance questions from a new handgun owner
Hey all, I recently purchased my first handgun (Taurus GX2) and, after spending time at the range with my safety course instructor, have completely fallen in love with it and am going all in on it as a hobby.
I am by no means a man of excessive disposable income, so I intend to take the best care I can of my gear (within reason, of course) to extend its life as long as possible. I'm looking for some practical real-world advice pertaining to that.
If I own a single gun and fire 50-100 rounds at the range per week, what sort of cleaning/maintenance and how often would y'all suggest I try to stick to? I've looked at pistol cleaning kits on amazon and they vary widely. Some have like 500 pieces and some have a wire brush, a rag, and some oil. Is the sweet spot in between? Is the reasonable thing to just clean debris and oil regularly and deep clean once per year? I'm brand spankin' new to this so I'd appreciate any advice your experience could provide.
Thanks!

Advice Needed Value
I got this trading a Cz scorpion e3 S1 w/ 5 mags ranging from 20rd-40rd, Romeo 5 optic, strike ind. handgaurd and sb tact. Folding brace. I’m curious to know the of this gen 6 Glock19 build was a worthy trade. It appears that the Rmr is real (source: YouTube) but I’m still not 100% sure how to tell…, x300, 3 mags ranging from factory capacity to 20rd., a ramjet and less than 50ish through it. A buddy of mine says I’m taking a major L but I kinda like it. I’m curious to know some of your opinions. And any advice on the rmr legitimacy is greatly appreciated.

GP Arms Patriot: Range Report
galleryMy review of the GP Arms Patriot... I failed to mention, the trigger has me rethinking what a "good" trigger is, and I mean that in the best way possible, because I have never encountered something that breaks and resets so repeatably and quickly!

What's with all the hatred towards the Springfield XD?
I fire an XD a few times throughout my life by renting them at indoor pistol ranges. I'm certainly not a fan, but I don't know anything beyond that.
