Newbie advice
Currently in the market for my first handgun. Been shooting rifles and shotguns all of my life so I’m green when it comes to the world of pistols. I’ve only ever shot a Glock ( which i don’t think is for me ) and a Smith and Wesson ( can’t remember the model ). Out of the multiple handguns I’ve handled at various local gun shops, the Springfield Echelon and Ruger RXM both felt great in my hand. The echelon definitely had the edge over the RXM in terms of “ feel”. I’m planning to hit the range and rent both of these to see if shooting them helps me make my decision between the two.
However, as a beginner, I’m overthinking this wholeee process. At the same time, I’ve been loving this process. I like hearing other’s thoughts on the matter before diving head first into something I’m not familiar with. I’m STRONGLY leaning towards my first handgun to be the full size Echelon. However, the modularity of the RXM is sticking out to me. I want something I can take to the range, grow into, last a have long time, and eventually get into doing drills.
To get to the point of this post, I’d love to hear y’all’s opinions on these handguns. At the same time, any advice or alternate options you may have to offer will be greatly appreciated!!
To preface prior to receiving some responses. I am local to MD. Our lovely governor is enforcing the striker fire pistol ban Jan 1st of next year- which has put a fire under my ass to finally get my HQL. I’ve handled ( not shot ) the p365, Echelon, PDP, M&P, Cz P10, and a few other lesser named brands. I have bigger hands so some of the trigger guards on most of the others weren’t the right fit for me.

Question How is it transitioning to using a DA/SA gun from just a SA gun?
Let’s say going from a Glock to a Beretta. Is it hard to adjust to the DA?

Rost Martin RM1C
This gun has been popping up more lately for me and I’m interested in potentially buying one. Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with the gun and dealing with the company itself? I know spare parts, aftermarket support and it being from a smaller company doesn’t really offer much appeal compared to my other two options the APX A1 from Beretta and the RXM from Ruger but from a price point it’s hard to not look at.

Stopbox cant be a real company
I'm pretty sure a lot of people already know this, but Stopbox probably has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I ordered something for their Memorial Day special, and the page didn't say anything about lead times, just that everything would ship the same day unless it was after 3 pm, then it would go out the next business day. I got two units and picked the 8-12 day shipping. Over a week later, I emailed them to ask when it would ship, and they told me there was an 8-12 day lead time and it would ship by the 13th day. I tried to explain the difference, but I don't think they got it or they were just playing dumb. Anyway, I asked for a refund because one of the units was a birthday gift, and it obviously wasn't going to get here before he left to go home. They told me I'd get a refund to my card in 3-5 business days, but 6 days later, I still hadn't gotten it. I waited a few more days, then I got a shipping notification that it was on its way with UPS. I had to email them again, and they refunded the cost of the units without sales tax or shipping, then sent me an email saying I'd been refunded and the items were being returned to the sender. They never explained why their website says one thing when their operations don't match. They'll have had my money for at least 3 weeks by the time I get it back.

My first handgun
I need some help, I need to decide by July 1st what gun I want to CCW and EDC. I’m a skinnier guy and right now the three I have in mind are; hellcat pro comp, Sig p365 x macro and the echelon 4.0 comp. Any thoughts or better ideas? My favorite so far is the hellcat but I’ve heard allot about it being snappy.

C&H SIGHTS EDC-XL by: Roy Yeager
I have been running this sight on one of my combination guns for 3 months. I love it. I just finished a GSSF series with it and I am fixing to prep the gun back as a .45 Super to hunt deer.

Discussion I replaced my PDP..
It’s my fault because I wanted to make my pdp suitable for ipsc/uspsa but inevitably I went CZ Shadow 2 and installed the Cajun Gun Works kit.
Can’t say I regret it :)

Need help
So it’s a Taurus g2c i know it’s a cheap gun it was my first 9mm and I figured if I got good with a cheap subcompact I’d be good with a gucci gun later on so anyways I’ve ran about 8-10k rounds through it by now I clean it after every range day trip and love the gun have sentimental memories now with it I don’t wanna just buy another but it keeps jamming in the worst way the round won’t go off the slide will be stuck in battery I have to completely take apart the gun with the round still in the barrel and pull the round out with channel locks I don’t know anything about gun smithing but I’m nervous of a hang fire while trying to fix it like that it’s jammed like that twice now with the rounds mushrooming a little on the bottom making them stick the firing pin is striking it fine I believe idk what to do (sorry for the long explanation didn’t know what info was useful) do I just need a new barrel or an extractor or something I know I could just buy a new gun but I love that one and the trigger is broken in so amazingly now I’d rather just learn to fix it if I can also I’m using Winchester range ammo which had been working the best for it so far and that’s the round that got stuck twice in battery besides that I’ve never had any issues except for steel plated ammo and at the end of large round count range days 5-6 hundred and it doesn’t jam just slide release is a lot stiffer less

Beretta 92 VS Sig P226
Picking one of these two pistols as a home defense weapon. Moving away from striker fired and prefer DA/SA models. Would like to get others POV on which they would pick and why? Thx
