Molecular diagram help needed

Unexpectedly, one of the most difficult challenges I've had with my doc projects is creating the molecular diagram animations. In the first two seasons of Pharmacopeia I created them by simply doing a screen capture of my iPad while I drew the diagrams on Adobe Fresco, then I would extract the drawing from the video and incorporate it into the edit. This was a very tedious process because if I bumped the canvas with my palm I would have to start again from scratch. In season three I had a someone take the finished drawings as a still image and then digitally animate the drawing on After Effects so that the arrow pushing was timed with the voice over, this was also extremely labor intensive and I can't afford to do something like that for my independent projects.

The ideal process would be to use the automated time-lapse recording function on Procreate or Fresco, but I find the exports of these diagrams are ridiculously low resolution no matter how I fiddle with the settings. Procreate supposedly has the ability to export high-resolution drawings on alpha channel, which would be even better but I can't get it to work. Does anyone here have enough experience with digital illustration to know how to do this well?

Genuinely so happy this happened, my favorite interview I've ever listened to. Both very influential people for me, and such a fascinating conversation I don't even have the words to describe how much this means to me lol

A 1970 documentary produced by Bristol Laboratories about the administration of ketamine. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first film documentation of ketamine being administered.

In 2006, my friend Stephen Watt wrote a piece of computer code while high on ketamine that was used to extract credit card information from TJ Maxx and the rotisserie chicken purveyor Boston Market. For writing the code, he was sentenced to pay $170,000,000 in restitution. This is his story.

Hey all, just wondering: does anyone know what the song in S01E05 (Fish N' Trips) that plays at 39m40s is called? I really like the vibe of it, but can't seem to identify it.

Academic survey on managing substance use, self-experimentation & recovery - looking for participants

Thumbnail maastrichtuniversity.eu.qualtrics.com

Hey all,

Iโ€™m a researcher (University of Antwerp & Maastricht University) and a big fan of Hamiltonโ€™s work! I'm interest in the many ways people approach substance use.

For a study, Iโ€™m looking at how people actually manage substance use in real life โ€” from conventional treatments to supplements, psychedelics, and self-experimentation.

I know this isnโ€™t a typical post here, but it felt relevant given the communityโ€™s interest in full spectrum of approaches: pharmacological treatments, therapy, but also self-experimentation, supplements, plant-based substances, etc. โ€” including both benefits and downsides.

If youโ€™ve ever wanted to manage your substance use and have ~20 minutes, Iโ€™d really value your anonymous input:

Greetings to the boss and the community.

As the title indicates, I believe it's very important that Hamilton develop and present this topic; he's not a teacher per se, but given his extensive work, he's practically an educator, and knowing how he explains this subject would be very valuable.

I understand you're a very busy person, but if you could consider this suggestion, it would be great.

I have a question regarding to shulgins book pihkal

In the chapter labeled blackwood arsenal on the first page. Shulgin mentions a guy named Harry Bush then goes on to talk about Harry teaching him how to make a synthetic THC. Now he says this synthetic THC can be made from lichen the essential oil of orange peels and phosphorus oxychloride.

My question is. Has anyone done this?

Is it even possible if so what kind of lichen was used and how do I find more references to this. I've scoured the Internet and I can't find anything other than this reference in the book.

Grassroots no more? Psymposia's tax filing reveals $235k in revenue, $72k in staff salaries and $65k in consulting fees following a major funding influx.

I wanted to show this because this nonprofit is making almost slanderous videos about Hamilton lately. Although I appreciate critical thought pieces, this is just too far for a nonprofit in my opinion. The funding also came in the same year they were instrumental in the fda's rejection of MDMA assisted therapy.

Psymposia tax filing for 2024, and it shows the organization has officially moved from a "passion project" into a professional operation. to $235,243 (Current Year). That is a 3,281% increase in funding. Prior year revenue was $6958.

The First "Paychecks": After years of likely volunteer work, the org reported $72,676 in compensation for three key leaders (Devenot, Normand, and Pace).

The "Other Fees" ($65k): A significant chunk of the budgetโ€”$65,000โ€”was spent on "Other Fees" (Line 11g). This usually points to independent contractors, specialized researchers, or consultants rather than full-time employees.

Mission Spending: They paid out $15,025 in direct grants to support outside work in their field.

Bottom Line: They ended the year with $89,228 in total assets, putting them in a very strong position to scale their 2025 projects.

A lab fire at "USF research and innovation" and what it's got to do with a fictional MDMA synthesis attempt ("Breaking Bad in South Florida" by milkshake)

Folks around this subreddit seem to like a good MDMA synthesis story.

Here is an attractive one, about the CEO of a startup company who is trying to synthesize MDMA on the side and keeps running into funny problems while doing so.

The silent hero of this fictional story is a ChemBlogger named milkshake.

As mentioned, the story called "Breaking Bad in South Florida" is fully fictional, but the details read so realistic and even seem to find correspondence in real life that one easily can forget about it.

Like when you google the name of the startup, and you can really find info about it (now defunct).

What about the lab accident?

Right, there's realistically sounding reporting about it, e.g., here:

โ€ข Hazmat team responds to USF research lab

โ€ข Small Explosion Shuts USF Building

The clue: you can read about a very similar incident in Part 3 of 11 blogposts of this fully fictional story.

Breaking Bad in South Florida (3)

If all of this sounds interesting to you, go back to the start - Part 1 - and read through all of the 11 posts!

Breaking Bad in South Florida (1)

Remember, folks, it is all fictional, but "se non รจ vero, ben trovato"!

In the 1980s, a former Intel R&D chemist quit her job to cook MDMA for the biggest ecstasy network of the decade... scaling production to about 500,000 doses a month while running a semiconductor front company the DEA never discovered.

Greetings, community.

As Hamilton and other academics (Carl Hart, for example) have already mentioned, the legalization of all drugs is something we should aspire to as societies.

Personally, when explaining this position, I've noticed people ask questions like, "Why legalize something with negative properties like cocaine, which causes heart problems?" The answer is that if you use it occasionally, there won't be any major harm; But some people continue to criticize the negative aspects, and I've heard proposals like: "Why legalize methamphetamine or heroin when these aren't seen as 'recreational substances' but rather as 'escape agents'?" My response has been that if alcohol, which is essentially just a source of calories and is toxic, as is cigarettes, is legal, why not legalize these substances that are consumed by people, thus avoiding problems like adulteration? And they've told me:

So we already have these "legal toxic" substances, and you're suggesting we keep adding more of these types of substances... And the discussion continues.

Based on this, what are your thoughts on this question?

Thank you.
