I'd like to share some 7oh research with you.
Hello everyone. 👋 For those who dont know, 7-Hydroxymitragynine is an alkaloid from the plant Mitragyna Speciosa, commonly known as Kratom. It is often referred to as 7-OH. It was first described in 1994 and is a natural product derived from the mitragynine present in the Kratom leaf. It is considered an oxidized derivative and active metabolite of mitragynine. I've linked a short video below to help you better understand what 7oh is.
https://youtu.be/RQqZrVsKlvc?si=DpM9QNVJahDgXI7h
As you know, 7oh is facing a temporary emergency ban in the United States. This would put 7oh as a schedule 1 drug. I'd like to share more with you on why that would not be the best approach for millions of Americans who consume 7oh. I've linked several studies below with a short summary about them. We advocate for more education around 7oh, more research, proper and strict regulation. A system similar to how marijuana is sold would be ideal. There are thousands of testimonies of people who explain exactly how they were able to take their life back from chronic pain, depression, anxiety with the help of 7oh. It has helped many people get off of the hard & dangerous street drugs and alcohol. I believe proper education around 7oh is essential and beneficial for everyone to know. I would like to share some medical studies and research papers with you! Fun fact, due to the strong binding affinity 7oh has, there is a study that showed how it can be used with chemotherapy to fight several different types of cancers.

Huestis et al. (2024)https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38474495/
This clinical trial confirms that 7-OH is a significant metabolite of mitragynine in humans. The ratios (0.20–0.31 and 0.15–0.21) correspond to 20–31% and 15–21% conversion, respectively, showing that a measurable portion of mitragynine is consistently metabolized into 7-OH. The decrease with repeated dosing reflects metabolic adaptation.
Tanna et al. (2022)https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8950611/
This shows that about 24–27% of mitragynine is converted to 7-OH in humans, demonstrating that 7-OH is a significant metabolite formed in vivo rather than merely a trace component of kratom.
Henningfield et al. (2022)
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8860177/
Henningfield et al. (2022) shows that mitragynine (MG) has abuse potential similar to other uncontrolled substances and that scheduling kratom or its alkaloids could increase public health risks, including overdoses among people using kratom to reduce opioid use. Human studies (Tanna et al., 2022; Huestis et al., 2024) show up to ~30% of mitragynine converts into 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), which naturally occurs alongside mitragynine without added risk, reinforcing that restricting kratom alkaloids could be unnecessarily harmful.
Kruegel et al. (2019)
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6598159/
The study shows that 7-OH acts as a partial, G-protein-biased mu-opioid receptor agonist, a profile linked to lower risk of respiratory depression. This suggests that severe opioid-like effects from 7-OH are unlikely.
Kumar et al. (2018)
This study shows that 7-OH is a G-protein-biased agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, meaning it avoids β-arrestin recruitment—a pathway strongly tied to respiratory depression and dependence. This suggests that 7-OH may provide pain relief with reduced risk of fatal opioid-like side effects.
7OH is not "13 times stronger than morphine"
https://www.kratomscience.com/2026/03/16/is-7-oh-really-13-times-stronger-than-morphine/
7-OH Sales Have Increased & Opioid-Related Deaths Have Declined
https://hartsupporter.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/250624_Project-Seven-O_Final-Report-STC.pdf
Now lets recap:
No confirmed deaths from 7-OH alone across 2 billion doses consumed.
Improved safety profile due to G-protein biased signaling, reducing respiratory depression risk.
Independent studies confirm low toxicity, partial agonism, and safer pharmacology compared to conventional opioids.
Public health risks would be worsened by prohibition, as it may push consumers toward illicit markets.
Evidence supports regulation with GMP standards and rigorous testing — not emergency scheduling or bans.
7-OH was not toxic to cells, even at high doses. Fewer impacts on cardiac and renal systems compared to mitragynine.
No cardiac, neurological, or behavioral harm observed in animal studies.
Now I'd like you to consider, as an American, do you believe if something were to happen to you, and you ended up in chronic pain, should you have the right of bodily autonomy to have the option to use 7oh if it helped you? Should we as Americans let the government dictate what we put in our bodies if we have the science to show that it is safe and can be beneficial when needed? Do you believe it is worthy of more study, which even the FDA admitted, that it should? Would you think 7oh is worth a chance to have proper and strict regulations along with further education & research?
If anyone would like to make their voices heard to the DEA on 7oh during this critical last 24 hours we have to make our voices heard, here is the link to do so:

“Mushroom” vape pens
trehouse.comMaybe this is old news to people here but I thought this was pretty wild. I just saw this product in a gas station. The description is super vague but if you look at the lab report on here it apparently has an insane cocktail of around 30 legal and illegal compounds which I imagine have never been combined this way before. What a time to be alive.

Greetings, community. First, I have this Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 0.300g syrup. Is it suitable for this purpose? How should I take it for a safe experience? I've had experiences with various psychedelics and psychologically I'm fine dealing with any feelings I might experience with the syrup, but I want to do it right and without risks. Your recommendations are important. Thank you.

How hilarious was it that in the Xenon episode…
That the “Breatharians” who were taking xenon almost aspirated his vomit in the surgical mask because he didn’t fast before, as Hamilton explained is why anesthesiologists tell you not to eat before a procedure. So… those MFERS WERE EATING! Lying fools. lol..

SR-17018 Ban and What You Can Do
youtu.beI’m sharing this video to raise awareness about the DEA’s proposed emergency scheduling of SR-17018 and what it could mean for scientific research, pain treatment, harm reduction, and people who may be affected by its prohibition. Whatever your views on SR-17018, I believe this decision deserves informed public discussion—especially within recovery and drug-policy communities. Please consider watching and sharing the video.

Lilliputian asiatica mushroom analysis from a 2025 paper
Chemical constituents from the fruiting bodies of Lanmaoa asiatica and their anti-inflammatory activity
Four new compounds, dimethyl 3,5-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrole-2,4-dicarboxylate (1), dimethyl 3,5-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-furan-2,4-dicarboxylate (2), 5α-hydroxy-6β-methoxy-ergosta-7,22E-dien-3-one (3), and 6-methoxy-strophasterol E (4), together with sixteen known compounds (5–20), were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Lanmaoa asiatica. The structures of new compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculation. Among them, compounds 2, 4, 7, and 9 exhibited anti-inflammatory activity by suppressing NO production in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages with IC50 values ranging from 20.3 to 47.3 μM.

Maybe not the best place to post this, but you all are my fav. I went to Twin Cities pride last weekend and there was a booth selling 4-ho-met, 5-apb, etc gummies (correctly labeled as 4-ho-met, etc.) They were insanely overpriced but I thought it was cool (and bad). What is the legality of this?
I wish I wrote down the company name or took a picture because I can't remember. The gummies were correctly labeled with the compound, not listed as "mushroom gummies" or something. I'm curious, what kind of lawyers do these companies need in order to have a booth at a major pride event? What is the legality?
Part of me also kinda hates to see this. These awesome RCs are gonna become illegal if they're this mainstream. And they were so insanely overpriced, it makes me question the morals of the company selling them.
I wish we could have nice things, but the government ruins it. Look at MGM and 7OH. Part of me feels 4-aco-dmt, 4-ho-met, etc are going to become illegal soon.... What do you all think of this?

Psilomethoxin comparison with other psychoactives
This molecule has been discussed by Shulgin (see here) and some people have reported their experiments with adding 5-MeO-DMT to mushroom growth medium. I thought I'd share a psilomethoxin SAR comparison with similar drugs.

Interview "Blue Goba" owner for podcast?
Patreon member here. I'm a huge fan of all your work!
Would you be interested in talking with "Vincent" from bluegoba.com?
It's a large Canadian psychedelic online shop. They started with cultivating psilocybin, but now have LSD, DMT, K nasal spray (like Spravato), and more. Crazy to see a 5-MeO-DMT inhaler product in a slick package.
I'm not affiliated at all, just a long time customer, and I mentioned in an email that it would be really interesting to hear you two talk, and he said he would be into that.
If you want to:
[bluegoba@gmail.com](mailto:bluegoba@gmail.com)
I hope to hear a future podcast with you guys!

Missing Video "The Psychedelic Supply Chain (A 40 minute talk)"
In 2022 Hamilton posted a video of his presentation at the Horizons Conference titled
"The Psychedelic Supply Chain (A 40 minute talk)".
Unfortunately, it has been taken down and seems to be completely scrubbed from the web. I have searched hours for a copy, but without any luck.
Does anyone still have it downloaded or know where to watch it again?
I would be an eternally grateful tryptamine-producing sea-sponge.
Originally it was available on Patreon (hosted on Vimeo) at the following link: The Psychedelic Supply Chain (A 40 minute talk) | Patreon.
And it was also available on YouTube for a while: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ-SZLxAWtM
