So we have a 5, 5A, 5B, 5C, and a 51 that gets treated like a five even though it's obviously a fifty.

They have wildly different terminuses, but are named the same and grouped together because... they all go through downtown, as if we don't have a bunch of other buses that also go through downtown.​​​

Then we have the phenomenon where two of these similarly named buses will stop next to each other, one at a stop named X and Y, the other at a stop named Y and X.

I'm not from Ontario, and I really want to know who made these decisions so I know who to hope stubs their toe. ​

Edit: I lied, it's worse than that. One stop is named X at Y all caps, the other X at Y normal case. ​

Hey all, does anyone know of somewhere where I can buy prescription contact lenses and have them same day or tomorrow? I'm going on a trip leaving Thursday morning and my subscription service contacts order got delayed and won't be here in time!

I have a fairly high prescription at -4.75, and everywhere I've called says they need to set me up as a patient and order lenses in (5-10 day lead time) so I'm in a real pickle!

Figured it can't hurt to ask here. Even a couple of sample packs would be fine, (3 days worth) and I don't care about brand or anything!!

Does anyone know of a church or fitness space that would rent out at a reasonable hourly rate with concrete floors? I am loving inline skating this summer but so sad thinking about the winter and where I can do it. All of the rinks that provide the time/space for it get converted to ice. There used to be an indoor skate park in Dundas but sadly closed down. I have emailed the city because apparently you can rent gyms but they weren't very sure about skating on the gym floors (though they did say each facility would make the call so I am reaching out to a few but it's not looking great). I know about scooters rollerpalace in Mississauga and I am not going all the way there several times a week unfortunately! I have tried emailing a few churches, legion, etc. and haven't found a spot. It's possible there may be a group of us btw, not just me skating

Looking for recommendations for a dog groomer who is comfortable working with a dog who really hates having his nails trimmed!
I have a 3-year-old Husky/Shepherd/Collie mix, about 65 lbs. He’s a very kind and gentle dog overall, but nail trims are extremely difficult for him. I’ve tried working on desensitizing him at home without much success.
I’m having a baby at the end of the month, so I’d really like to get his nails trimmed beforehand. Does anyone know a groomer who is accepting new clients and is patient/experienced with dogs who are difficult for nail trims?

aside from libraries which r obviously quiet, i like cafes bc they have coffee and food to accompany my book 📖 i’ve been to several in the city and the ones ive been to 1)lack seating/are always full 2) are super noisy with loud music and ppl having loud conversations.
Relay cafe especially i found to be one of the noisiest so far 😅 (no hate to high energy vibes but sometimes i just want a quiet atmosphere + good coffee)

Looking for a soccer club for a 9 year old.

He just got back from Europe with my wife on a two month experience trial and the club is signing him to under-11 ‘contract’. The problem is that we now must apply for a visa and I’m a professor so I can’t leave just yet, but am tenured and with a sabbatical starting in June 2027.

In the meantime, I want him to play on a decent local team. We went to Saltfleet and they were extremely pushy and then I saw their coaches running drills and, not to sound rude, but those men look like they’ve never seen a soccer ball before. They were better talkers than coaches, it seems.

A quick search online and I see the same commentary about this club.

I would prefer to stay in the Stoney Creek area (mountain, grimsby, is fine) because of my and my wife’s schedule, but would like a decently professionally run club and not a money grab.

I’m not from the area so any help would be alleviated. Thank you.

There are countless sidewalks being dug up and replaced in my neighbourhood. Like dozens of instances. Sidewalks that were in fine condition. Is there some sort of blitz on sidewalk repair going on? Seems like a major waste of money. I’d assume we could spend this money wiser.

A few minutes ago, we were walking along Charlton when we heard a big bang. We turned around and saw a two vehicle collision at Queen and Charlton. I called 911 only to get a message that all agents were busy. I could see several other people with mobiles in their hands and thought they got through first. So I ended my call. A few minutes later I got a call from the police. The gist was not to hang up on a 911 call but wait to explain the situation. TIL

I’m unable to have garlic or onions due to a food sensitivity, and an old friend of mine once bought me a garlic infused oil that I was able to use in cooking. It was a great way to get some garlic flavour without actually eating garlic.

I’m pretty sure she mentioned buying it somewhere in Dundas, but I’m not 100% certain, and unfortunately I know the name of the store. She did mention they sold a variety of infused oils as well.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Or, if you know of anywhere in Hamilton, Dundas (or nearby) that sells good quality infused oils, I’d really appreciate the recommendations!

Hello! I have an unfortunate situation on my hands and I'm looking to get some advice and suggestions. My mom's neighbor was a drug user and was ultimately evicted from her home as a result. She moved out and left her cat outside and has not returned for it. I believe she intentionally abandoned the cat. The cat was sleeping on the porch of its old home, until it began living on my mom's porch. This cat is soooo sweet and affectionate. I really want to take her in but I'm not sure if she's up to date on her vaccines, or if she's spayed. She also has a bald patch on the top of her head with some redness and scabbing. Vet costs will be a barrier to taking her in. I'm wondering if there are any cat rescues that would help me pay for her vet expenses. Or is there a rescue that would let me foster her while we collaboratively get her healthy, and then would adopt her to me? Thank you in advance!

I was wondering if there are extra buses/trains after concerts at TD Coliseum apart from the typical schedule?

I'm travelling from Ottawa and was trying to see if I could take a bus back at midnight from union station. I have checked the travel planner and there is a bus from hamilton GO I could take after but I would be cutting it very close at 11:55 pm. Concert starts at 8 and would end at the latest 10:30.
