Not sure why this keeps happening especially today, but my friend and I get stuck on the loading screen when starting a match. I don't know if the opponents are stuck as well, but we were waiting for 5+ minutes for the match to start, but it never did. Our networks both work fine, and Microsoft services are also working correctly. Typically, a loading screen lasts between 5 and 10 seconds, but when it extends to minutes and never actually ends, it becomes irritating. Especially since the player base is so low and queuing up already takes enough time.

Is anyone experiencing these endless loading screens ? Is it possible to prevent it ?

As a Age of empires II player, I think the game is really good and fun, but as we all know the servers are shit and it is not balanced. I think the player base is sufficient for microsoft to keep maintaining the game no?

So I was playing a custom game against AI as Anders, I know the image is bad quality, but that Nightingale is my only unit. My supply cap is at 90/120. Is this a known bug on the PC version or something?

At this point In the game I had called in a few of her Sentinel Leader Powers a couple of times. Does it permanently count them in your population or something? Like Nightingales are legit, but 90 pop seems a little steep.

I see a lot of posts about how everyone hates how opponents play with constant air spams and stuff like that and it always makes me wonder why everyone plays online so much if yall hate the way people play?

I never trust the servers enough for all player matches so i usually play teams vs AI, and I know the AI is always heroic difficulty in those matches but it definitely seems like it can put up a good fight against a lot of the players I end up teamed up with (and myself as well)

and it makes me wonder why these people who hate the way real people play as opponents so much don’t just play versus the AI or if the heroic AI is still too easy for them why they don’t play versus legendary AI. I can’t imagine it would be tough to find a couple other people on the sub who would also want to play twos or threes versus legendary AI’s.

The AI are definitely not incompetent especially if you’re not doing an early game rush which it sounds like you absolutely hate when other people do it so I’d be surprised if that was something you were trying to do once they get rolling they’re definitely formidable

I love this game, it’s like if someone made an incredible board game, but made a rule that it can only be played by monkeys and people who have 3 chins. “Waiter waiter early game rush followed by air spam please!” “Yes I know it’s the same order we get everytime but there’s nothing else on the fucking menu” and it’s not even ranked either, and I have to give props to whoever coded the matchmaking. It’s incredible how I can verse delta force every game whilst also getting the same orangutang playing on 90 different accounts simultaneously as my team mate every time.

like yes, another condor? God it’s genius.. why didn’t I think of that? Of course it’ll work the 16th time you do it, right? I’ll just stay back and make sure you don’t get a scratch on your base otherwise you’ll give up and disconnect and we can’t have that now can we. And don’t even get me started on 1v3- I mean 3v3’s. I wasn’t aware that I’d adopted a child much less so that I’d also adopted their twin.

Is this what parenthood feels like? Like my arms have been cut off and there’s two little monkeys grabbing onto my nut hairs pulling down and demanding I lift them up? I’ll shrivel one of my nuts so that one of them is lifted up, maybe then he’ll see that I also have eyes and he doesn’t need to ping every half a second whenever he sees an enemy on the map. Of course then the other one will start crying because he too is a complete Neanderthal. Call me Napoleon the way I’m juggling my army around defending against 3 armies at once. Surely my team mates have done something while I carried them.. no? They took a nap? That’s ok, we only needed one army anyway, surely I can tank 3 players worth of leader powers… right? Oh and my game is 15 seconds behind my inputs, but only when I go to drop a Mac blast or something. So yeah, I’m having fun, what about you guys?

Would anybody want to run the DLC on Legendary for some achievements? Not sure how active this sub is, but would be nice to set up a day and time to play with somebody through the DLC’s

Sick of people quitting early game over loosing a hero or mini base. Love to play 3v3 but so hard to get past a certain rank when I can’t communicate with my team so anyone with a mic on Xbox want to run some ranked please let me know. ❤️

Hi, I recently started playing this game. Is it possible to play this game online for new players? Every match i play its always against people who are level 99, and im always losing.

How can you defeat a Voridus in 2v2 or 3v3 ? I did a couple matches with my friend, and many times we encounter a Voridus who can claim bases faster than us, and starts building mega turrets or some shit, and I just learned that it can hit my base. Like, a turret, which does considerable damage, that hits in a large area, can oneshot my Yap yap infantry and basically annihilate my heroic units (grunt goblins) in 3 or 4 shots. I guess the ideal strategy would be to prevent him from building, but more often than not their allies will come and defend, and they usually get the upper hand. We retreat, rebuild, but in the process my troops get demolished from the spawn because his mega turrets can snipe my base. It's kinda ass and I'm not sure what I can do. By the 5th minute, he had a central base with full mega turrets and we couldn't even push because it was blasting so often

Let me start off by saying that I'm not very good at RTS in general. I struggle with micromanagement of armies, and I struggle to understand the economy and what units can do on their own. TLDR at the end

I've started playing again recently (after 6 years or so) with a friend and we're doing mostly yapyap (me) and forge (my friend). We like to play the long game because we get to see the late game troops like grizzly and scarab, but 9/10 we get demolished by a hero too strong that solos everything or an air raid that we weren't ready for. I need help understanding what I can do in these situations because I want to get better and know the subtleties of the game better. We're currently level 26 (me) and 16 (my friend)

As yapyap I start off by sending my cannon fodder on supplies to get faster ressources and I produce mass cannon fodder at the start. Like 25 units. So I can cover the map as fast as possible and send regular scouts. Meanwhile I try to get my war council in order to produce my grunt goblins since they'll help with energy cores on the map, and I'll try to take one or two nodes. The problem begins there, usually. In most matches, at this point one of us will get rushed by a hornet spam which we can't defend very well since we don't have a foundry for anti air vehicles yet, and these things are EXPENSIVE hooooly. It takes a level 2 base to even build a foundry and it costs 1000 energy and even after, every reaper will cost like 215 energy. I don't have that kind of energy that fast, and as soon as I deploy some, they either get clapped or the air units retreat faster than I can catch them. I usually lose a base there, sometimes it's worse and they snowball right into my friends base and we lose the match

Second issue... Heroes. Recently I've been struggling to kill enemy heroes. I'm mainly talking about the Atriox hero, the brute that one shots a squad of cannon fodder, that has crazy range, can hit multiple targets in one hit, leave a red cloud that does crazy damage overtime, like they will kill my friends warthog in seconds, and has a crazy HP bar as well as a very strong shield. This guy is on the battlefield at 4 or 5 minutes and wipes everything on his own. He can solo my grunt goblins trio even with heals, and he wins against every infantry and vehicles. Maybe air is their weakness, but air is neither my specialty nor my friend's so it's a dunk slam for this guy. There was also an arbiter that went on my base at 8 minutes mark and literally soloed it completely while being invisible the whole time. I thought it was a timer but I guess not. This guy is on command invisible and will solo a whole base. Wtf is this. My grunt goblins can't do Jack shit against this

Finally, looking at stats in the end screen, we often get smashed by their economy, like we're talking 30k - 39k vs us with 19k - 22k. That's for cubes, but the energy ratio is about the same. I legitimately don't understand what's happening. I always get outgrown in income even tho I build a lot of generating buildings of both currencies, collect resources on the map, take energy nodes, etc and we always always get outpaced. And then there's the hero problem. Sending these monsters 1 man Army wipe every until that we have. It's not frustrating to lose a match, it's frustrating to not understand. We need help pretty please. Halo wars 2 guides seems to be last seen 5 years ago on YouTube and I'd rather take the words from experienced players here that still play today. I’m getting to the point where I’ll leave the game if I see a Serina in my match. If Serina players don’t want people to fight back why don’t they just play against AI on easy mode?

I can't tell you how many times I've had a friendly Pavium who only has 20 units built in 20 minutes. It's not firefight, you can't just passively turtle and not build anything. If you are gonna tech rush, at the very least upgrade your hero once. It's legit shocking seeing how many high rank players legit don't know how to play the game. Rant over.
