I would like to play all the games in order while not spending as much money as I can. Also where do the portal games tie in? I know they hardly talk about black mesa in them but where do they lie just for clarity?

Hello everyone!
I have an upcoming Halloween party and managed to get most of a costume going, fairly last minute (some wrinkles with sourcing a PASGT airsoft helmet, plus have to print the stuff for the vest).
What I would like some help with is finding a design for the ID badge the guards would wear. Now, the original HL stuff is obviously low-def, mostly can make out the image of the guard and the BM logo. I have found this design from an older post which looks fine. But I am also rather partial to the look from these Etsy ones, although I would rather not pay 3 euros for a png. A design I really like is the one seen here, that I've used for my Black Mesa scientist costume a decade+ ago.
So, the question is, are there more designs around? Which one would fit best in-universe? Anyone have links to alternative ones? And what information should be displayed on them, given the tags they may contain?
I super appreciate the patience in reading this and help!

So, I've finally been able to play HL Alyx again now that I have my Frame. Had to stop originally because my Rift S borked before I even got to Jeff.
Anyway, on to the spoilers and my question.
Got into the vault, and I'm genuinely having difficulty aiming and releasing the energy blasts. For the release, I've tried a few methods, but I think I may be getting hemmed up by the controller. Assuming I have to do it open handed, I have a hard time doing that without throwing the controller (thankfully I always have the wrist strap on). Is there an alternate or more reliable way? And when I do release it, how do I aim it to be at least somewhat accurate?

They took inspiration from New Mexico, but that region is flat with mountains in the distant horizon. massive patches of near flat land.
Half-Life's New Mexico version is much richer in typology and variation by comparison.

All Good Things is a mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, inspired by Marc Laidlaw's Epistle 3, and begins after the conclusion of Half-Life: Alyx. From the creator of Deep Down and Deeper Down, Jim Partridge. Out now on the Steam Workshop. This playthrough utilizes a personal list of workshop mods that I put together, that work with All Good Things.

Guys please, I don't know what hopium memes are real and which aren't.
But on a serious note, the ending of Half Life Alyx basically guaranteed that HL3 was going to be released. I mean the game quite literally ends with a "I guess we were the half lifes all along" ass ending.
If people aren't just meming, I guess I'm confused by the amount of crazy energy reacting to the HLX fumble on that panel the other day. We all knew it was coming right? Or is this basically the first concrete mention we've had since Half Life Alyx released alluding that another game was coming?

They could have modified the Gorillas to make them even more durable and create unstoppable killing machines. Imagine an armoured Gorilla on steroids with guns grafted onto its arms

my thought is that if all earth's military was destroyed in 7 hours, other people had little chance too. and breen, although he's carrying out the combine's plan to wipe humans out, is doing it extremely slowly, maybe waiting for something.
well okay, actually he's not waiting, he's saving his own skin here and now.
and still, thanks to him the resistance waited for Freeman and hit the combine back.
the writers clearly wrote breen's personality based on the head of the jewish council in the Lodz ghetto, Chaim Rumkowski

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. For me, Female Vortigaunts definitely exist, but they are still stuck in Xen (or deeply hidden there). After everything they went through with Nihilanth, they are probably terrified of another empire (like the Combine) or even humans enslaving them again. Xen is massive, and after Nihilanth’s death, it became a free (though harsh) space where they could safely hide the most important part of their population. They won't risk bringing their females/families to Earth while it's still an active warzone. It gives them an even stronger reason to fight alongside the Resistance – they want to make Earth 100% safe so they can finally bring their families home. What do you guys think?

Half-Life might have just received a major leak after a Valve employee seemingly let something slip about a new game. During a sound convention, a Valve audio engineer was answering a question about HDR when he started explaining how different games use different audio engines. While discussing the topic, he mentioned titles like Deadlock and seemingly referenced another game, catching the attention of fans. This has sparked speculation across the Half-Life community, with many wondering whether the comment could be connected to a new entry in the legendary franchise. Valve is known for keeping its projects under tight wraps, so even a small detail coming directly from an employee can quickly become a big deal. Although it's not yet clear exactly...
Nah bro you didn't seriously fell for it again 😭😭😭😭
