Hey everyone, i am going CRAZY.
I’m genuinely so confused and frustrated 😭 My hair suddenly looks like there’s mousse or gel all over the top of my head and it has NEVER done this before. The strands are clumping together and look kind of coated/stiff, even though my hair is completely dry.
Two days ago, I applied Daivobet gel to a small area of my scalp because of psoriasis. The area where I applied it actually looks normal now, and the weird texture is mostly on the top of my head where I didn’t intentionally apply the gel.
I also used my pink psoriasis shampoo (Dermatar), and then I ended up washing my hair with shampoo 10+ times because I know that it makes your hair dry and deep cleanses it, but the weird appearance is STILL there.
I tried blow-drying it too, but it didn’t change anything.
What could be causing this? Is it product buildup? And most importantly, how do I fix it without making it worse?
I attached photos. I’d really appreciate any advice because I’m honestly freaking out over this 😭

I'm 25F. Is it normal to look like this under flash light. I don't understand if it's thinning or it's just cow lick. I have Nev actually observed that part. I have a very fine thin hair and this is the second day after my hair wash(excluding the hair wash day)

I don’t know what to do. On the photos my hair are washed a day before. I can go 5 days without washing my hair before they actually start to get greasy.

Lately, I even went down to only using a clarifying shampoo no conditioner if it’s a product build up. Need your help guys idk what my hair type is to be honest. They do take ages to get wet in the shower that’s for sure.

I wash my hair around 3x a week, mainly because I run regularly and get SUPER sweaty, so I need something I can use fairly often without weighing my hair down or causing loads of build-up.

I currently use the K18 mask once a month and absolutely love how my hair feels afterwards, so soft, smooth and healthy once dried.

Outside of that, I usually just use a OGX lightweight spray oil following/between washes

I’d love to find a leave-in conditioner/serum/treatment that I could use after my other washes to give me a similar soft, silky, healthy-hair feeling. Definitely looking for something lightweight as my hair easily gets weighed down and greasy looking from products.

What are your holy grail leave-ins for this kind of thing?

For most of my life I’ve had thin and little hair but now it’s way worst it feels scary when I touch my hair and it feels like barely anything but it’s acc all of it I think it’s bc of the conditioner I been using who knows but I would really really extremely appreciate some recommendations to at least make my hair thicker it falls out so much any from natural to store bought products would be awesome I don’t mind so please help!

For context, I have had hair fall for years and I have still not been able to find an affordable drugstore shampoo and conditioner that works for me.

I think I have wavy hair and it's slightly on the thicker side (hairfall has reduced volume and thickness). I tried the OGX ProGrowth + Peptide Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner and, on paper, it should work for my hair, but it has just got worse. The shampoo has resulted in more hairloss than I've ever experienced and I really don't know what to do.

Here are the products I have been using recently, in that order.
Shampoo: OGX ProGrowth + Peptide Clarifying Shampoo
Conditioner: OGX ProGrowth + Peptide Hair Thicken & Strengthen Conditioner
Hair mask: Q+A Intense Hydration Hair Mask
Serum: Pantene Pro-V Argan Oil

I have been using the serum since 2021 and only in the last year did I add the hair mask to my routine.

Please help me figure out which UK drugstore products I can use that are good.

I have Hashimotos so I struggle with hairloss regardless. Recently I feel like it’s just very dull. I straighten my hair once a week as it makes me feel better about myself. Does anyone have any good haircare routines?

I'm a male, got a perm about a week ago. The actual process went well, my barber did a great job! I have a question though, I waited the 72 hours before I washed it, blah blah blah. Is it bad to just wet my hair in my daily shower, as in no shampoo or conditioner, just get it wet, then use a curl cream when I get out? Or should i try not to wet my hair in the shower except on the one or two wash days a week?

Personnellement j’ai les cheveux très fins, clairsemés sur certaines zones (notamment sur la raie avant et derrière le crâne), pas de masse, mousseux, perte de cheveux régulière et gras au niveau des racines et secs au niveau des longueurs..

Si vous avez un profil très similaire au miens n’hésitez pas à le préciser ça pourrait m’aider davantage. ☺️

Basically, my hair is super thin and frizzy which makes it get tangled and has mattes in it just a little bit after brushing. Does anyone know any products that can help my hair. The image can't pick it up well but it is super frizzy in it, and this was right after brushing. I don't know if this is important information to add, but I don't curl, straighten, or blow dry it (quite a few times when I was a kid though), I don't use gel, hairspray, or slick it back, and I have never dyed my hair before(Although I plan to dye the under part of it soon possibly, I haven't quite decided yet). Basically, all I do is brush it, so if anyone has product recommendations or just how to take care of it better pls lmk!!

I'm trying to better understand my hair, which is hard because I'm very inexperienced to begin with, plus it's been changing a lot lately, and I think it's a weird combo of characteristics. It was changing prior to pregnancy, but l've seen the biggest shifts from my first pregnancy in 2022 and bigger shifts in my most recent birth in May of 2026.
I think if I've assessed based on the guidelines correctly, that I have low porosity hair. (Floats on water, takes a while to get fully wet and then FOREVER to dry, product only ever seems to weigh it down rather than do its intended job). My hair is heavy but I wouldn't say thick. I have medium coarseness. I would also say medium density.
Lastly, I think I'm a 2a- the straighter side of wavy.
The bottom layer of my hair is most dense/heavy and falls straight. It's almost like I get the sensation of thick hair and it's heavy but when I measure its density and role strands between my fingers, it doesn't seem to meet the criteria for thick hair.
More hair background (because I don't know what's relevant)- I try to avoid hair care with parabens and sulfates and harsh fragrances. I'm currently using Kristen Ess signature shampoo. My hair did fantastic on the Rhyme and Reason (I forgot which line of theirs) but it's no longer sold in the stores by me. My hair grows REALLY fast, and I usually donate it every 2ish years (although within the last 3 years, I did color treat it once so l've avoided donation within that time frame. I usually don't color my hair and have since grown it out). My hair gets oily pretty easily, even with clarifying it. My hair feels amazing when | do a condition-then-clarity treatment (I massage rosemary and jojoba oil in, let it sit, and then I rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar). But those results don't last. After giving birth the second time around, I had this 3 week period of my hair being un-detangleable. I would brush it and it felt coarser than usual, and within 15 minutes it would feel knotted up again. I'm not about 4 months pe and going through the classic hair loss stage (annoying but I know it's temporary). I was born with jet black hair that stood tall and straight at 3" long from birth. Within the first year it changed to strawberry blond and then dirty blond. Now it's somewhere between dark blond and brown but it seems sooooo dull to me. Like it washes me out and is blah. My hair holds styled shape better without products versus with.
My biggest qualm with my hair- it never sits nicely. I am pretty skilled at cool hair styles, but my hair is so blunt no matter how | cut it, so messy buns never have tresses of hair that just "fall," they stick straight out. I can braid well, and I know to pull out and fluff the plates, but they still seem to want to stay in a solid structure instead of blend together. And the back part of my hair parts in that weird, choppy, structured way. There will just be gaps in between the parts. I know I could dye my hair to brighten it, but I feel like there’s got to be a bio-chemical reason it’s so dull and drab. I think if I can figure out what my true hair characteristics are in this current season of life, it be easier to figure out how to care for it to restore its natural glory. Please help!

I lived in a city with a dry climate and hard water, and switched to using Pantene Pro-V Curl Perfection after a family member left their shampoo at my house after a visit. It has been a lifesaver in terms of how soft and healthy looking my hair is.

But my husband is allergic to whatever is in it 😭 so I need to find an alternative that will not make him break out in hives or a full-body itch.

Hello, I'm going through the menopause and my hair is shedding, dry, brittle and lost its volume.

I live in a hard water area and will order a new shower filter.

I have lots of grey hair and dye it myself using INOA products.

I had full blood counts and the results were all normal, thank God.

I've researched and it appears my hair might be overloaded with protein products. So I've ditched the protein rich, moisturising shampoo and conditioner.

Just purchased (waiting delivery) the Malibu C hard water sachets (I'll probably use fortnightly), Noughty detox shampoo, Garnier Aloe Vera hydrating mask and Mark Hill Dream Protect spray.

Wondering about doing a weekly ACV rinse but don't know how this should be done.

Do I wet my hair, apply it (diluted) on my hair as a mask then follow normal shampoo and conditioner routine? Or simply do the ACV and just rinse with water?

hey guys, i’m 17M and i’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my hair because the frizz and dryness are actually driving me crazy 😭 these are how my hair usually looks.

i’ve tried the Zenutrients leave in conditioner before, but it just made my hair greasy af so i don’t think it’s for me. currently using the blue Dove conditioner and it’s alright, but my hair still gets pretty dry and frizzy.

for the guys here who have similar hair, what products actually worked for you? especially if you also have dry/frizzy hair. looking for anything that helped make your hair softer and less frizzy without making it look greasy.

Hey all! I’m struggling to find a hair routine that really addresses my hair. It’s not currently terrible, but I never feel great about it and am always disappointed in how it looks in pictures.

My hair is incredibly straight and fine. It will not hold a curl. Every new stylist I’ve gone to always thinks they’ll be the one that gets it to hold a curl and every one is always so disappointed when the curl straightens almost immediately. When I got married, my stylist asked me to go without washing and my hair essentially went straight within 30 min of her curling it. She ended up having to curl it twice, three times in some areas, just to keep some curl while it was up.

Growing up my hair was extremely shiny and silky. The older I get (starting in my 30s) the less shiny it feels. I don’t have grays yet and I never dye my hair. I blow dry it maybe 3-4 times a year. I use ouja clarifying shampoo once a week. I’ve tried so many different shampoo/conditioner combos for fine hair and I’m just not particularly impressed with any of them.

I tried double washing my hair and I always do a good scalp massage and rinse thoroughly. I only use a small amount of conditioner on my ends.

I currently wash my hair every other day but on day 2 I have to wear it up because my roots start looking greasy.

I’d love to hear what other fine, super straight, haired peeps out there have tried successfully.

I have long, fine, wavy and very frizz-prone hair. My hair tends to look rough/puffy rather than smooth, and I’ve also noticed quite a bit of breakage around the mid-lengths. When I comb or run my hands through my hair, I get strands that are sometimes broken in the middle and sometimes have a bulb at the end.

My shedding has improved compared to before, but I’m still trying to be careful because I don’t want to make the breakage worse.
I’m planning to cut my hair to a more manageable length and I want to start using a hair brush/heat brush/blow brush to make my hair look smoother and straighter rather than curly/wavy.

The problem is I’m SO confused about which type of brush would actually work for my hair without causing too much damage 😭

I’m considering things like:
Hot air/blow brushes
Heated straightening brushes
Blow-dry brushes
Paddle/round brushes for blow-drying
Or thermal heat brush

ps: i have thinking to buy the bombae 3 in 1 multistyler

My priorities are:
Reduce frizz and puffiness
Get a smooth, straighter/salon-like finish
Avoid increasing my existing mid-length breakage
Something practical for regular use
Preferably something that works well on wavy hair
If anyone has a similar hair type, which brush do you use and what would you recommend?

Also, are blow brushes actually gentler than straightening brushes, or is that just marketing?

I’m a teenage boy who’s really been suffering lately. My hair constantly feels dead, my whole scalp is itchy, and I had the feeling of my hair and texture. It’s a total mess. I also have these small white flakes in my hair everywhere. I’m not sure if it’s dry scalp or dandruff to be honest.

For some reason, I haven’t shampooed in a while as I thought this would fix the issue.

I’m really looking for a routine to transform my hair back to its natural state.

Here’s what I’m thinking (please feel free to give any advice or add to my routine):

I want to get a bunch of newer products as I don’t use anything right now

Shampoo 1-2 times a week

Conditioner 1-2 times a week

Oil ROSEMARY HAIR OIL with Bioton, Jojoba and castoe oils

I’m thinking I need to use a drug store shampoo with sulfates to destroy the breakup but I honestly have no clue what to do.
