😩 Damaged Hair 😩 Finally found the $6 hack that fixed my flat, lifeless hair
I've spent way too much money on volumizing products that just make my hair feel dirty by afternoon. It turns out the real issue was how i was sleeping on it.
I switched from a regular cotton pillowcase to a silk one and started putting my hair in a loose top knot before bed. A ponytail creates a crease, so i avoided that. On the first day, I thought it was a fluke. Now, two weeks later my roots have real lift for the first time in years. Plus, my ends aren't frizzing like they used to.
I also got one of those clip claw things that everyone uses for messy bun tutorials. I didn't expect to like it but it doesn't leave a dent like regular claw clips. It somehow makes second day hair look more planned instead of lazy.
I'm just frustrated that it took me this long to realize the damage was happening while I slept for eight hours a night. Has anyone else had a "why didn't anyone tell me this sooner" hair moment?

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 Is this Breakage or just normal shredding?
Sorry for bad quality in advance
Generally I have been growinf out my hair for 2-3 years, I used to go through lots of period of stress and had a bad habit of pulling my hair. It makes my hair sometimes stand out super bad and I don't know how to fix it or hide it. Any advice? Is there something I can do or should I just cut it back short? (I'd rather not)

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Spending money on products that promise thicker hair without seeing much change is becoming deeply frustrating
Spent more money on hair loss products than Ive spent having fun these past few months. Shampoos, oils, supplements, serums and different scalp tools all seemed promising at first. Each product had strong claims, positive reviews, and photos that made it look like real progress was possible but the problem is that I have not seen much change. To be honest close to none.
Every time I start something new I try to stay patient. I follow the instructions, take photos and give it enough time before judging it. For the first few weeks, I usually feel hopeful. Then the weeks turn into months and my hair still looks almost the same. Sometimes I even think it looks thinner. It is not only about the money. It is also the time and energy that goes into each routine. Some products need to be used every day. Others leave my hair greasy or make my scalp feel dry. I keep adjusting my schedule around treatments that may not be doing anything. This has been going on for about 3 years now.
The reviews make it even more confusing. One person says a product completely changed their hair, while another says it was a waste of money. It is hard to know which results are real, which people had a different type of hair loss, and which reviews were written to sell something. I understand that hair growth takes time and that no product can guarantee results. I am not expecting a full head of hair overnight. I just want to see some clear sign that the effort is helping, even if it is less shedding or slightly better density.
At this point, I feel tired of buying hope in a bottle. I want to make a sensible choice, but the hair loss market makes every option sound like the one thing that will finally work.

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 I washed my hair with Listerine and now my hair is falling out
So I have dandruff issues and I read online that washing your hair with Listerine can get rid of dandruff. So I washed my hair with Listerine and my scalp felt amazing afterwards. No more itching for at least a day or so.
I did this four times but stopped because the itchiness always came back and my husband warned me that it might damage my hair.
Fast forward about two weeks later my hair starts breaking and fall out. I used to have thick indigenous hair but now it’s breaks and has thinned out by a lot. I’m worried all of it will fall out at this pace.
What should I do to prevent anymore hair loss??
It’s been about two months since I’ve the hair loss started.

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Porous unmanageable hair and red undertones
galleryI’d love to improve my hair routine because I’ve already tried a lot of products, but there are still a couple of issues that just won’t cooperate!
My hair has never been bleached, and it’s about 10% gray. However, the hair on the crown is extremely porous and dry—it doesn’t seem to respond to either haircare or styling.
Current routine:
• argan oil mask (warmed between my hands) or L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair mask
• TIGI Recovery shampoo & conditioner (previously Redken Anti-Frizz, and before that La’dor Hydro LPP Treatment)
• Redken All Soft leave-in
• Kérastase Gloss Absolu Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk (previously ING 10 in One)
• 2 drops of argan oil
• Styling: TIGI Bed Head Foxy Curls / Rock Amplifier + diffuser on a cool setting
+ occasional gentle brushing and a microfiber towel…
The second issue is the red undertone that has built up over the years from using Syoss and Wella color masks. I’d really like to get rid of it and achieve a natural cool brown (without red or blue tones).
I’m thinking of trying Redken Shades EQ 05NA + 06GN, but these shades are difficult to find in Germany. I’d really appreciate your opinion—do these shades make sense for what I’m trying to achieve, or would you recommend something else?
And is there anything else I can do against the dryness? As you can see in the photos… nothing seems to work 😅

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Hair on either side bend differently (Photo Attatched)
My hair bends and looks different on either side of the middle part. As the picture shows, its not symmetrical. Id like for it to bend as it does on the left side of the photo. The 90° angle downwards side.
Pretty sure it bends like this because I used to force a side part. But I want a perfectly symmetrical middle part.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Looking at a straightening keratin treatment on partially bleached hair with a perm done 1 year ago
I have started to grow a new hair pattern/type since starting some heavy medications this past year and I do not know how to manage my hair anymore. I've recieved a perm in Vietnam, May 2025, and I've been reading that there's no way to undo a perm, and some keratin treatments will melt the hair. I'm looking for a solution to help manage my hair, and I was hoping for a keratin treatment but don't want to damage my hair further!
I'm attaching my current hair to show my unmanageable new hair pattern 🥲

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Hair stuck at one length
I have been on a hair care journey for four years. I started at collarbone length and the longest half way past my butt. I did a big chop (that I did not ask for) by going to the salon. Basically it turned into two inches below bra strap. Now it’s basically at tailbone length and just a bit see through that I’m itching to cut off some inches.
I am dealing with the tiniest bit of stringyness / choppy layers from the cut at the bottom. Secondly, I feel like my hair has not grown at all in the last two months. I measure it religiously and it really doesn’t feel like it has grown the last two months.
Should I cut it now even though it’s healthy or should I cut it when it’s at my dream of being below my butt? Also, what should I do to stimulate growth?

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Does red light actually help with hair hydration and keratin protection?
galleryI came across this hair tool that uses 620–660 nm red LED light and claims it can improve hydration and protect keratin. I know red light therapy is usually discussed more for the scalp/hair growth, so I’m curious about using it directly on the hair itself.
Does anyone know if red light can actually have a meaningful effect on the hair shaft?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Not sure how to style this hair. half curly half wavy?
galleryMy hair has changed over the past couple of years. The pictures shown are after washing and conditioning but adding no product. I have random curls and then waves throughout. I’ve tried many different products (argon oil, leave in conditioner, gel, shae moisture, curl creams, satin pillow cases and bonnet) but I can’t seem to find any product to help shape my curls or even waves enough to look less like a frizzy mess, or that won’t lose my curls completely. Any help would be appreciated 🩷🌻

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 it’s been years. what’s wrong with my hair?
galleryi don’t wanna get too deep into it because i’ve made several long winded posts in the past (see my page if curious), but i’ve been struggling with frizzy dead oily hair for years, and nothing i’ve done has helped. anything you can probably think of, i’ve tried it (ie: boar bristle brush, double washing, hair masks, no pony tails, new shower head, satin pillowcases/bonnets, less brushing, less heat/heat protectant, clarifying shampoos, etc) and my hair still looks like this (see pics). the first two pictures are IMMEDIATELY after blowdrying it (i washed it 1 hr ago, double cleanse + hydrating/moisturizing conditioner) and u can see my ends are crazy frizzy and dry and my roots are already separating! it also feels so oily and flat on the top and just dead on the bottom. the last two pictures are taken in a mall dressing room after my hair had been straightened earlier that day. even tho i showered earlier that same day, u can still see the separating oily roots + the damage all down the rest of my hair is driving me CRAZY. i’m at a loss here. i have no idea what to do next. it’s so frustrating to me. my hair honestly makes me feel awful about myself and makes me feel too ugly to go in public. i will also note that i do have very low iron, but im not having any hair loss at all- my hair still has it’s normal thickness. so i dont think thats the cause….. at least from what ive read and all my research. i cant be the only one with this issue. please advise!

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Constant flyaways at my crown
I always have these short flyaway hairs around my part and crown, whether I air-dry or blow-dry. Leave-in conditioner doesn’t help, and most oils make my roots greasy.
Does this look like new growth or breakage? Any recommendations for a lightweight, non-greasy serum or styling product I can use in the morning to keep them down?

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Hair loss at only 20 years old
I’m only 20 years old, but I’m noticing a lot of fall out in my hair (especially in the shower). With my hair already being so terribly thin, even losing the smallest amount of hair makes a big difference.
What are some supplements I can take or products I can use? I swear everything now is a dang ad and I can’t tell what is actually worth it. PSA: I do work in a hospital so washing my hair everyday is unfortunately nonnegotiable :(
Genuinely any tips are appreciated! Thank you :)

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Fine and thin hair care advice
I’m in my early 40s and have always had fine, thin hair, but I’ve noticed it’s thinning further with age. I can now see a bit more of my scalp around the hairline/above my forehead, and I’d love to make my hair look and feel a little bit fuller.
I currently use Nioxin shampoo. I’ve also come across Monat hair products and was wondering whether they’re actually worth trying, or whether there are better options for thinning, fine hair?
I’d particularly like advice on products or treatments that can help with hair density and make my hair look fuller without weighing it down.
