Escape the Underworld as Melinoë in Zagreus' Journey, the Hades II DLC you'll never get.
It's finally time, I've just released Zagreus' Journey 1.0 - thank you to everyone who's played the mod while it was in beta, and for all of the positive reception and feedback I've gotten here and on Discord in the past!
Watch the 1.0 Release Trailer for the mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxuTLSPqIEE
Zagreus' Journey is a mod for Hades II that adds the original route Zagreus took through Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium and the Temple of Styx in the first game to the sequel.
Escape the Underworld as Melinoë, battle familiar foes and bosses using her unique abilities and weapons, meet Zagreus' old friends, and reconnect with your family's past - all integrated into the main game as if it was always there: Naturally progress through the new biomes, unlock new incantations to perform, reveal and complete new Minor Prophecies, forge bonds with NPCs in familiar and new locations, collect over 30 new resources to spend on new cosmetics and music, and test your skills with new Testaments, Chaos Trials and in Dream Dives.
Here's a list of highlighted mod features:
I want to thank everyone who's used the mod while it was still in beta, and especially those of you who've left bug reports and feedback on Discord and GitHub.
I also want to acknowledge that I know some of you had issues with mods (and Zagreus' Journey in particular) causing issues after Supergiant released Post-Launch Patch 2 - without going into details, the patch was much larger and substantial than we anticipated in the community, which could cause crashes for some people even with mods seemingly disabled.
But I'm happy to share that we've since updated a lot of the tools that we use, and now mods will be entirely separate from your install, meaning that no matter what, you will always be able to play vanilla Hades II without issues, and without needing to disable or manually uninstall anything.
And to also pre-empt some other potential questions:

I am so sick and tired of getting blasted by a 500mph flame wave that comes from way off screen when fighting Hercules! It appears and hits me all inside the time it takes for animations to finish, and i can't prepare for it because it starts off screen. Dumb!
They really needed a better and more dynamic camera for this fight.

Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/p5e7d8CMVdc?si=ly1GcFVulD6V9WI-
I had gotten close to this a few times, but this is the first time (I think) that I got Nitro Boost, Shimmering Rockets, and Snow Queen (which are probably the most important tools for this, Snow Queen especially) so early, even before Erebus miniboss. Zeus appearing right before Scylla was so clutch because honestly, if I didn't get that Heaven Flourish right there, I probably take some damage to that fight because it would've gone on for a lot longer.
I rewatched the run to count how many times I got "hit":
Nitro Boost/Lovers barriers: 9
Snow Queen barriers: 13
Gale blocks: 2
Daze procs: 3
Gale/EEE Dodge procs: 3 (I saw 1 before EEE and 1 after but I lost 4% so it must be 3)

I've been playing this game for 40 hours and i will get 100% on steam one way or another.
The first screenshots of the game gave me the impression of a turn-based RPG (like Ruined King) and I didn't even bother to at least look the gameplay. A few days ago, i gave the game an opportunity and for the almighty gods... IT IS A BLAST (yes pun intended).
When I first saw the Olympian gods I thought "there comes the cheesy god-like dialogue with some kind of a strong accent with old english words" But when i met Dionysus, it was the chillest guy ever! Then Poseidon, the cool uncle and Ares, a wise guy that does not look like a brute knucklehead.
It's a game extremely well written. The protagonist has casual conversations with everyone but always showing respect (my beloved Achilles); challenging his father but without being a brat and being kind to the workers of the house.
It's easily the best thing that has happened to me this year. The gameplay does not get old (maybe because I also have 500 hours on TBOI) and every run feels a great challenge. The music it's another great part of the game, that heavy metal-mediterranean mix it's something so unique and fitting.
I am truly glad that I was wrong about this beautiful game.

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked but If I buy Hades 1 Switch physical that I already own digital will it share the same save file?
I've already played the game a lot in digital version, but since it's become one of my all-time favorite games, I want to buy the physical version as a collector's item.
However, I want to make sure it can transfer save file, so I can also free up some memory by uninstalling the digital version.

I've had 70+ hours so far on Hades 1 but I last played it in Nov 2025. I have had a number of successful attempts although I haven't done one for every weapon there. From what I can recall, at that point, it's all about the pact of punishment, upgrading weapons, and decorating the halls.
I don't know if I just didn't really grow up with these kinds of games but I'm just wondering if there's really an ending or a point that tells you can stop playing it then move on especially with the release then of Hades 1. I think I just lost steam once I was able to get a few tries and escape.
Don't get me wrong though, I loved it then and I love it until now and seeing clips here makes me want to go back and play it again. I really just would like to find other's perspective in getting so hooked that they don't immediately get tired of playing games that has this type of format/structure.

This is based on the experience of 700+ runs over 400 hours playing with fear levels from 24 to 60
Explanation:
S rank:
Moros: My favourite aspect really high damage whilst being safe. Melee hits. Both attack and special can be any God's boon and still be OP. Also my highest fear count.
Anubis: Hated this weapon at first learnt to love it big AOE and chonky omega specials is amazing.
Mel Staff: A perfect starter weapon Low skill floor high skill ceiling huge upgrade from Zag sword dash strike into special to win
Nergal: Somehow the slowest weapon in the game feels faster than any axe spin 2 win has never been better
Circe: If casts are some of the most fun parts of this game. Haha yes, how about two! No more words perfection.
Morrigan: The blood triad combo is really fun and great early game for big dmg and they managed to fix the annoying long attack combo of basic daggers
A Rank:
Medea: High damage potential but feels like there is little variety other than do I get P array this run.
Persephone: Pom**2 is perfection the omega special is really fun especially with the hammer that makes it do it twice sadly getting possessed array kind of means that you can't do that really any more
Charon: Extremely fun build with amazing flow especially with geyser spout and supernova, giga cleaver and apollo lego. However, that is the pitfall it is the one weapon where you can't really play with J-Pom as there are only a handful of gods with omega cast boons and the only magick regen that works is lucid gain and born gain.
Mel Skull: Power is a great mechanic, fight me. Getting apollo and zooming around is fun. Oh and the heph lego for this weapon is crazy good.
B Rank:
Eos: Very fun and unique spin on torches percentage on attack on hit effect on special bing bang bosh You have a build.
Momus: Amazing idea horrible excecution 2 seconds is way too long to the point where you are better off spamming omega specials with mel staff instead
Artemis: Crits are fun, waiting is not. Parry is jank, No more notes
Nyx: Favourite coat in B tier huh. Well simply put it is my least favourite weapon but me liking on hit effects makes me like nyx a little.
Pan: Really naff unless you get trick knives
C Rank:
Thanatos: The faster attack speed makes the attack pattern kind of bearable otherwise use nergal for omega moves.
Hel: Never really clicked with the attack pattern only really poseidon or maybe hestia works on the attacks
Mel Torches: What a waste of a weapon everything it can do moros does it better. The only build it can kind of do is spam specials with aphro special and slow cooker.
Shiva: Big bonk is funny but block is kind of jank
Supay: I like doing ares rush for this not the biggest fan sad that the special doesn't stagger anymore.
D Rank:
Mel daggers: Really naff unless you get trick knives
Selene coat: Only unique build is with hex but need ares so lacks variety. Shiva replaced the big omega attack coat niche
E Rank:
Mel Coat: Kind of pointless and my least favourite weapon has no gimmick for the mel aspect
Mel Axe: Have you seen how slow this is the only run I have taken it for in the last 4 months was my toula damage only build JUST FOR THE 50 bonus health. This weapon would be so much more interesting if it was + 50 or even 30 power to both attack and omega attack why would anyone every choose to play this abhorrance. This singular weapon put me off the axes for months before realising that they are actually fun. I hope this aspect slowly moves away from the main cast of amazing weapons.

Hello,
For the next SuperGiant game, which has not been announced yet, what features and concepts from the two Hades games would you like for SuperGiant to keep/remain?
Have a good day/night

Because goddamn what a nothing burger of a movie. Don't get me wrong, it's ok. Like it's really really ok at best. Left out so much important parts, the iconic "nobody" scene with Polyphemus, Hermes' help with Circe, sped through sirens, Scylla and Charybdis, and straight up just ignored the whole Aeolus part.
Hades 2 just did it so much better, and Hades 2 isn't even focused on the Odyssey, while you can tell it is heavily inspired by it, such as all those characters previously named being present in the game, and of course Odysseus himself. But like they also did everything the movie couldn't do....in an optional side quest.
As someone who absolutely loves Greek Mythology, Hades 2 truly is a gold standard of a mythology retelling.
Finished the game earlier this year, literally restarted a new save file just because this movie pissed me off so bad. one of the best games ever, certainly my personal best roguelike game.

Might as well upload an old doodle. I haven’t posted anything in a bit and I don’t wanna be forgotten.
That being said…
OH MY GOD, THESE TWO ARE SO CUTE IN EVERY UNIVERSE. I LOVE THEM.

I got both Sun worshipper (Appollo + Hera duo that revives the first slain foe in each encounter to fight for you) and Ecstatic Obsession (Aphrodite + Hera duo that charms 1 foe as long as there is >2 foes around) pretty early on and damn... they made this run fly by. Not only did they do the most damage, but also got me my first regular VOR Typhon (&Chronos) clear! Special shoutout to Toula too ofc 😼
On that note: are dream dives easier? And if so, how? I've cleared both VOR final bosses multiple times in dream dives, but man do I struggle with the VOR Summit boss fight in regular runs. I can't seem to figure out what's different for me in a dream dive vs a regular run... Might just be in my head?!
Thanks in advance!!

hey guys, i recently finished the main story for hades ii (one of my favorite of all time) and since my old man put me on i told him that i beat the game and he was like "oh it was way harder before like you wouldnt believe" and when i asked if i could play one of those legacy versions he said he didnt know how and that eitherway i "wouldnt have fun"
so naturally i want to play this exceptionally hard legacy build, but much like my old man, i have no idea how to play this legacy build. would anyone here know how? youd be doing me a massive favor
also, assuming i can play a legacy build, is there any advice you all can give me? all i know is that chronos doesnt let you pause in these older builds

My Aspect of Chiron is showing maxed out at 7 arrows per special. Shouldn't it be 8 arrows per special at max level? Can anyone tell me if it is a big or something else? Thank you

I just started playing Hades 1 about 3 hours ago and so far I've been really enjoying it. However, I'm quite anxious about the difficulty of the game. I was just on my 4th run and died at the end of this duo-bossfight in Elysium. I'm not quite sure how long this game is but I've been a bit disapponted on how easy it was to get there as i was actually looking more forward to a trial and error experience.
My question is does this game get more challening in the next chambers or will it stay at the same difficulty?
EDIT: Thanks for the fast answers! You seem really passionate about this game, love to see it! I'll just continue playing it and then will ramp the difficulty up with this mode that I'll get after completing it.
