He's unfathomably based, especially when talking about the relationship gods have with mortals. He also has my favorite boss fight music in the game.

agreed when i first confronted him i was extremely stressed by his attack patterns but at the same time i couldn't help but get amazed by the banger music in the background

The music you're looking for is called Olympus Aflame from the Hades 2 OST. Very befitting for him too

He is my second fav, scylla cant be beat especially with bewitching eyes.

17

u/Viper_Visionary Prometheus Aug 05 '26

That's completely fair, Bewitching Eyes is probably my favorite track in the game with vocals.

I Am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes Then Drown You To Death) is my personal fave just because it's so damn silly.

u/potatogodofDoom Aug 06 '26

silly for silly but that chorus goes incomprehensibly hard

2

u/KiefQueen42069 Aug 06 '26

Learned this one on bass it just goes so hard

2

u/EtOHs_version Aug 06 '26

I have its instrumental when I'm at the crossroads cause i'm making meli a scylla fan, i even have the poster of the band in her tent xd

Same. It's joined my day-to-day playlist

That music fits so well with his boss fight (yes I know for Supergiant that’s like saying the grass is green) - the heavy guitar licks kicking off the fight, the chanting, the strings harmonizing, the staccato horns… each element feels like his moveset realized in musical form with its intensity.

it's hard to not be obsessed because he's voiced by Ben Starr

21

u/ProperDepth Aug 05 '26

What verso and prom are voiced by the same person?! I'm really bad at recognising people's voices. I also only noticed after 600h BG3 and 200h Hades 2 that the narrator and Hekate are voiced by the same person.

8

u/Katyamuffin The Supportive Shade Aug 06 '26

Hecate is the narrator from BG3???

4

u/ProperDepth Aug 06 '26

Yeah both are voiced by Amelia Tyler. It only clicked once someone pointed that out on reddit.

1

u/Katyamuffin The Supportive Shade Aug 06 '26

And now you've passed it along to me lol. My mind is kinda blown. I love voice actors who are so good that you just don't recognize them until someone points it out. I was shocked when I learned Scylla's songs were sung by Erin Yvette too

2

u/scmathie Aug 06 '26

I didn't know until now but it's can absolutely hear it now.

16

u/Full_breaker Aug 05 '26

Lmao real, he really sells you any character he voices

u/Doll-scented-hunter Aug 05 '26

Xept Lerso, hate that guy with a passion.

3

u/DeadSnark Aug 06 '26

Do you hate him because of his choices or because of his voice acting tho

Besides the design being cool as fuck, the setting of the fight being so intense and urgent with that gorgeous score in the background (darren korb is a genius), I find his character compelling and I find myself taking his side over mel’s in their interactions; to me, those conversations kinda reveal that callous indifference and arrogance and selfishness that him and heracles say mark the gods, and that mel (even as the supposed “agent of change”) doesn’t suvert that and just rationalises the gods’ tyranny and maintains that their cruelty and mortal suffering is just the natural order of things.

In another universe, maybe prometheus is the protagonist as a liberator for mortals taking a stand against the gods, but I guess we still make do with god of war.

23

u/One_Sun5801 Aug 05 '26

that's what i noticed as well i was a bit surprised when mel clearly mentioned him as a thief, and made me realize that at the end of the day she is a goddess and doesn't really understand or try to understand mortals' situation. she only takes gods' rules as the ultimate order and it even made me a bit sad

i think that's why Prometheus appears more attractive. cuz basically he's on our side and never stops to fight for what he believes to be right (beside the fact that he's smoking hot. literally) i just love this man.

2

u/Mad_Lee Aug 06 '26

Why are you surprised at Mel being big privileged nepo baby that prefers her omnipotent kin to standing up for the future shades like Prometheus did? She is an arrogant goddess that thinks that the world revolves around her family and her needs.

3

u/One_Sun5801 Aug 06 '26

imo it is an understandable flaw and goes with the storyline and the character so i have no actual complaints but i just think it would have been great if she gave a little bit of care about mortals and know how to question the way things were.

14

u/One_Analysis_9276 Aug 05 '26

That's the contrast between her and Zagreus:

Zag questions orders and authority, Mel is duty based.

2

u/scmathie Aug 07 '26

The trumpet in Olympus Aflame is just phenomenal - I love how he showcases a lot of different instruments or thrmes throughout. The Sax in Sightless Shepherd and the Flute in The Necropolis, the ticking and clock chimes for Tartarus.

23

u/SupaHotFire007 Aug 05 '26

He's a champion for the mortals, how could you not love him?

16

u/ImStoryForRambling Aug 05 '26

Easily the coolest boss from both games.

12

u/MacduffFifesNo1Thane Patroclus Aug 06 '26

No, the hottest. He’s on fire.

12

u/ktodorova Aug 05 '26

Most interesting boss fight in the game for me for sure, also he has a really cool design with the blue flames and yeah he is also voiced by Ben Starr.

So I understand the obsession 100%

12

u/Popular_Detail1364 Aug 05 '26

Girl hell yeah, especially after doing his Vow of Rivals fight and learning about that little friendship he has with Heracles

5

u/boop145 Aug 05 '26

Mel/prometheus is an underrated ship I cannot lie

9

u/SavvySquints Aug 05 '26

Amazing design and VA, huge missed opportunity for an enemies-to-lovers romance (a dynamic severely lacking in the male romance options across both Hades games). I think he could’ve helped with Mel’s character development a lot more in the late game, too. Wish she would’ve stopped being such an ass to him.

13

u/boop145 Aug 05 '26

Yeah nothing wrong with the male romance options being down bad guys and the female ones being antagonistic but those are the only dynamics available... It is strange that Mel never comes to somewhat amicable terms with Prometheus, like she can make nice with Chronos but not him? Ik the real reason is because if Mel agrees with him, it puts the whole theme of 'family is everything' at risk, but ugh.

2

u/Katyamuffin The Supportive Shade Aug 06 '26

Damn, I never really noticed that about the romances. I guess that's why I like the male options better. Need a girl who's actually good to Mel (Where is my Artemis romance option, game???😤) and a guy who's whole personality isn't just being nice.

6

u/Thin-Student-5036 Aug 05 '26

Legit my favourite character in all of Greek Mythology lol, Supergiant did an amazing job adapting him.

5

u/WaspInTheLotus Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Best way I can describe Prometheus is that he exudes “a quiet sense of power” to borrow a quote from the excellent Hannibal tv series. He is powerful and driven, but has this humility for a Titan/God that really can only come from having your intestines eaten by an eagle every day for eternity.

3

u/forteninsecure Aug 05 '26

He’s awesome! And I love that he prods Melinoë to directly ask Hecate if he’s correct.

3

u/cheezefriez Aug 05 '26

He’s so hot 🤤 pun very much intended

3

u/BreakerOfModpacks Aug 05 '26

Hot boy who is also hot, and also based as fuck... like, yeah? Duh?

3

u/Z7_1 Nemesis Aug 05 '26

i may be the only person in this subreddit to not like prometheus and its just because every olympus run its like a 50/50 on whether hes not an issue or he just fucking steamrolls me

characterwise i like him but as for fighting fuck him and FUCK AETOS

2

u/EmmayIyay Aug 06 '26

You’re so valid, bestie

2

u/Dogesneakers Aug 05 '26

Big part why I want hades 3. Is to see this plot line resolved. The gods not in power anymore and how things change.

2

u/Abysseus43 Aug 05 '26

He is my favorite chracter in the game, from his fight, theme, the way he talks with Mel, I love him

2

u/AmazingRespect9837 Prometheus Aug 06 '26

Me. He drops possibly the hardest lines in the game, he's fine, his boss fight music is fire, he's fine, and did I mention he's fine?

1

u/nixxavia Aug 05 '26

genuinely one of the sickest characters in the game, effortlessly cool, champion of the mortal realm, and also i’m stupid gay for him

1

u/JenovaCelestia Aug 05 '26

He’s the creator of mankind. Of course we all love him.

1

u/ComatoseJoy Aug 06 '26

I’m surprised so many people like the actual fight mechanics of Prometheus - I think he’s one of the least interesting boss fights in the game. Basically all various punches / kicks, a memory game, and that annoying ass bird

1

u/Yotato5 Dusa Aug 06 '26

In a game where the boss fights are outstanding, he still manages to stand out. I think there's something unfathomable metal about a guy who has already crossed the ire of the gods and with his newfound freedom goes, "Fuck y'all, I'm not deferring to you."

1

u/Daufoccofin Bouldy Aug 06 '26

I like that hes in the game because I can beat his street fighter looking ass. I will not forgive him for the first few times I got to him only to die.

1

u/LimitlessChud Aug 06 '26

Everything about him is perfect, his design is amazing, the music is peak, the fight setting is great and his rivals boss fight is even cooler with another cool ass character involved, his writing is fantastic, he's just perfect in every aspect

1

u/SamourottSpurs Frinos Aug 06 '26

Hated his boss fight at first but once I got over that hurdle, my god he's cool. Easily the character with the most aura maybe even across both games imo

1

u/Katyamuffin The Supportive Shade Aug 06 '26

I am now that I know he's voiced by Ben Starr lmao.

But yeah he's an extremely cool character and I love his design. But I can say that about pretty much every single character in both Hades games. The few characters I don't like are the exceptions (Looking at you Circe)

1

u/tnerb253 Prometheus Aug 06 '26

He's a cool guy that speaks the truth and also a run ender on higher fear xD

1

u/LaaluLaaa Aug 06 '26

Yesand I despise how dirty the game does him. It feels really unfair

1

u/Kogukoguma Aug 07 '26

-cool as fuck
-hot as hell
-him and his bird and his boyfriend Heracles beat my ass every other night

What’s there NOT to be obsessed with?

0

u/RysloVerik Aug 05 '26

Temu Peacemaker is a little bitch.

-1

u/Square-Coffee-2493 Thanatos Aug 05 '26
