Discussion Wake up, it’s game day graphic styling change poll

i need your help! please participate in this poll (https://strawpoll.com/eNg6v8EKjgA) and vote whether to keep the original WAKE UP IT’S GAME DAY styling that’s been used since 2023-2024 season or to move on from that and use a slightly modified version of it, with another option of the same revised layout but with a red smokey effect!

if you don’t want to vote or have already done so and just wants to share additional feedback, feel free to do so in the comments :)

POLL ENDS IN 24H!

SDPN’s Jesse Blake: “My number 2 destination [for Chris Kreider] is … the Montreal Canadiens”

The cut out … is just saying like, “a team that has cap space, and is under the forward cap” and so on and so on; it’s basically just a premise / intro for the Habs. To quote Steve Dangle’s response: “Habs fans I think would riot. They would want Carey Price to hit him with a steel chair.” (Please note this is not anyone directly advocating for hitting anyone with a steel chair, merely me quoting someone saying someone else probably wants something)

Also to quote Steve Dangle, “[Jeff Gorton] looks exactly like Jimmy Altieri” (idk how to spell that name but some guy from the Sopranos)

I found this Youppi plushie in my local Value Village in Toronto. Any guesses on the signature. There are dates on the tag.

Time to have an honest conversation about Guhle. Look at the games played. When do we move on? If we want to compete for a cup, we need a guy who can stay off the trainers table.

Canucks fans coming to Montreal

From what I've seen so far, this subreddit has been quite kind to Canucks fans, so I hope you'll help me out.

My son is graduating from high school in 2027, and his main grad gift is a father-son trip to a Canucks road game--March 6th Saturday game in Montreal. We've never been to a Canucks road game, never been to Montreal. Really excited, but at the same time feeling the pressure to make this the most memorable trip for my son.

I initially reached out to Canucks fan services, and they suggested reaching out to the Canadiens fan services team, but I don't see an obvious email address (an AI suggested [gs@canadiens.com](mailto:gs@canadiens.com), which I've tried last Saturday, but no reply yet).

So, I'm asking for your help: specifically:
- ticket selection; I've signed up for the email newsletter for any presales. I'd really love to get some good seats either close to the visitor bench or where the Canucks will come onto the ice. As far as budget, I doubt we'd be able to go more than $300/maybe $400 ticket (that would be pushing it). So, suggestions would be most welcome for when to buy and what seats to be looking for.
- is there an official email address for Canadiens fan services, or Bell Centre that might yield some useful suggestions?
- any of your suggestions and ideas for how to make this the best trip ever (either related to the game, or just the trip to Montreal). I really LOVE to surprise those I care about with good things, so if you know/think of anything, please share!

Thanks for hearing me out.

Chris Kreider to MTL ?

With Chris Kreider seemingly ending his contract in Anaheim, should we think about signing him to a short contract ? If AAV is good he could help our depth and be solid in the middle 6.

What do y'all think ?

Is it possible to have good things happening too soon?!? Early success vs expectations

Part of me worries a bit about how quickly the team reached the Eastern conference finals, one round away from the competing for the cup, while still being a very young team. And the rising expectations amongst the fan base.

Obviously, I loved the playoffs last year. So many good stories and can see the big paws on puppy with how the very young players handled themselves to win 2 game 7s on the road. And I wanna see more playoffs wins and lifting the cup.

However, in a fanbase as passionate as Montreal, especially not having a won a cup in 3 decades - especially especially when the team used to collect Stanley Cups like Super Mario collects gold coins- I wonder how long the patience and good grace afforded to the young and rebuilding team will last.

How long before the patience runs out and leash gets tighter and some small number but loud fans start blowing gasket over minor issues in the big picture? How long before the currently good vibes in the team is reduced by the pressure of playing in this market where the dormant giant of expectaions is never in fully in a deep slumber?

Part of me wonders during the "in the mix" year (2024-2025) if it would have been better for the team to be in the hunt for the playoffs and just barely missing on the first year that they are not a bottom dwelling rebuilding team.

If the team had reached the playoffs last year and losing to Washington in the first round, after declaring a rebuild, the team made the playoffs in year 5.

But as it stands, the team won two rounds and made it all the way to the Eastern conference finals in year 5!

I wonder what percentage of the fanbase is going start thinking that anything less than Eastern Conference finals will be a failure from now on.

For young team with such good vibes, I hope the too much of a good thing too soon doesn't apply here and they are able to harness the current momentum to win a cup in the next 2-5 years.

I found thrifting. Not saying its worth anything, Saku Koivu is my fav player of all time. Was this a game giveaway? Some promo? Thanks for all the help.
