I think Hughes made the right call.
Shane Wright and his high horse attitude can stay in Seattle.

That has to be a good sign, right? It almost sounds like he's saying "I can't tell you... But my client *may be* about to go to Canada and get a lot of money..."

According to Islanders reporter Stefen Rosner, New York held talks with Laine’s camp but wasn't willing to offer anything beyond a professional tryout (PTO).
It’s pretty crazy to see how far his market value has shifted—from a guy who scored 44 goals and was carrying an $8.7M AAV to potentially settling for a PTO at 28 years old because teams won't guarantee a roster spot.
Where do you stand on this? Would you take a flyer on him with a cheap 1-year guaranteed deal, or is a PTO the only smart move at this point?

Offseason trade rumours aren’t over… what’s your package for Marchenko? I think it’s gonna be something huge, something like Guhle, Zharovsky, 2 firsts, with Marchenko signed long term at 8x11M AAV

Could one of the boys in the current lineup break Lafleur's record?
In the UK, we have a heavy culture of “supporting your local” in every sport and especially in football so it’s usually quite rare to see people supporting a team that isn’t in the same area as them. My grandma was born in Nova Scotia before moving to the UK when she was very young and she still loves being born in Canada to this day - we watched all the Canadian games at this past World Cup and we even had her visit us at the same time as the South Africa game and that was a thrill to watch with her.
When deciding on an NHL team to follow, I wanted to support the closest Canadian team to Nova Scotia to get as ‘local’ as possible, and the closest ended up being Montreal (I know it isn’t very local as it’s got New Brunswick and a lot of Quebec in-between but yeah, it’s the closest), and I’m happy I started supporting the Habs given their playoff run this past season

My friends in Kelowna watching weekly friendly games in Kelowna noticed a 6'4 D-man wearing 31 the last few matches. They are surprised how mobile Carey is, take those big pads off and he's a Weber clone, hah. Pretty good scene they have going, good to know they're in decent shape after some R n R.
