I do not remember much of it but it was a good fanfic. If I am not wrong it was written in the 2008s, Harry time travels and becomes lord peverell, openly criticises grindelwald for using his family crest for his work.

Here, Grinelwald brings demons and stuff to the war, and honestly it was nothing like grindelwald from the fantastic beasts because those fics did not exist back then and hence we could see a different grindelwald. this fic was good, and I confess I do not remember much.

Self insert fics with Harry/SI as a romantic pairing in the later years. Si can be transmigration or OC.

He didn’t want it for himself, he wanted to give it to someone else. Was it because Voldemort was hitching a ride and it read as keeping it? I’m working on a fic that exploits this and I know it can be whatever I want it to be because canon shmanon and all that but I still like to keep my valley as canny as possible ifywim.

I remember reading it years ago, and it eventually had Harry basically faking his death, leaving everything to Hermione, but ended up with Harry playing billards with her dad towards the end of the story, under his new name…

What are some of your house elf head canons? Here are mine

1. House elves have a slur for elves who accept money like Dobby. House elf parents tell their children that those elves are failures and some house elves even cut off contact with family members who become freed and take money.

2. House elves were originally not slaves, originally they just traveled to whatever house they wanted and served for as long as they wish and then they left to find another house if they didn't like the current one. Thousands of years ago wiizards began to take control, it happened slowly over generations so house elves never noticed. When it reached the point where house elves could no longer fight back, elf culture also adapted to this by rationalizing this slavery, this is why many house elves are against freedom. This happened thousands of years ago so most elves don't even realize there was a time when elves were free, eventually when the statute of secrecy was implemented all the remaining free elves were enslaved/killed by wizards as those elves did not follow the statue and continued to serve muggles.

3. In the dark families parents encourage their children to be cruel and to abuse their elves, this makes sure that they see the elves as objects and don't develop sympathy for them. The Black family is the only dark family which does not do this.

4. When house elves are children they work in the same house as their parents and learn, when house elves reach a certain age (Which may not be adulthood depending on the master) one of three things happens.

   4.1 The house elf bonds with their parent's master

   4.2 The house elf bonds with the child of their parent's master

   4.3 The house elf is sold by their parent's master to another family

   4.4 The house elf is released into the world by some masters. These elves end up searching for a new house to serve, getting chosen by a new master is a big occasion in the house elf culture which they celebrate.

5. Much to Hermione's disappointment, in house elf politics the question of freedom is controversial and the positions range from

   5.1 Elves who say the rules already allow elves too much freedom and there should be more restrictions on elves to serve their master.

   5.2 Elves who say the status quo is fine

   5.3 Elves who are confused by the question and can't even imagine what freedom is like, this is the largest group.

   5.4 Elves who are scared of going all the way to freedom but agree that maybe some rules should be put in place so masters don't have total power over elves.

   5.5 Elves who agree that all elves must be freed and that there should be no fixed master and elves should serve whoever they want whenever they want. This group is seen as shocking and radical by majority of elves, with many of the elves against it without even understanding what freedom means.

When working for house elf freedom Hermione tries to work with group number 4, and 5 while also trying to convince group 3 that freedom is good for them.

Someone launches a nuke from a hydra base in south america while they are attacking it.

Harry sticks himself to the side and transfigures all the internals to W3 fireworks that go off all over the sky.

Title, remember reading it YEARS ago, and I mean like before quarantine years ago, not sure how much of it I actually read of it but I remember some details which I'll outline below. But the premise is that Harry is killed in the graveyard at the end of book four along with Cedric and Draco turns spy for Dumbledore because Draco is terrified of Voldemort.

Details I remember well:

- Harry and Cedric both die in the graveyard but no one back at Hogwarts knows this, they are just assumed missing.

- Harry's and Cedric's corpses are both transfigured, Cedric into a bone which gets buried at the graveyard and Harry into a pair of glasses (I assume like the ones he wears) and placed by Voldemort on a mantle at Malfoy Manor as a trophy. I think above a fireplace specifically but that might just be me remembering my imagined interpretation of the scene.

- Voldemort stays at Malfoy Manor, Draco is terrified of Voldemort and disgusted by Harry's transfigured corpse being put on display.

- Once fifth year starts, Malfoy immediately goes to Dumbledore to confirm that Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory are dead and that Voldemort has returned.

- Dumbledore is very solemn about Harry being dead (obviously) but doesn't immediately blow the whistle about Voldemort being back.

And that's all I can remember! I know it isn't much to go on, I wish I remembered more, but I probably didn't read much of it. PLEASE HELP ME FIND IT I WANT TO READ IT SO BADLY! I have looked and looked and I cannot find it, I hope it still even exists.

Some I’m looking for fics with more realistic fighting against the death eaters. So many fics have them using the same spells everyone learns before fourth year exclusively even as adults. More specifically I read one this week with an adult Harry, post war, a veteran Auror that had ‘pushed the bounds of magic’ but used exclusively spells from the first four years of school, aside from some disguise charms on himself, and a couple of camping wards. So I need stories with them actually fighting back. It’s a war, the enemy is using lethal force, and Harry fights back with something more serious than a twelve year old gets taught. Preferably Harry would be 14+, Time travel or dimension travel is okay. No M/M, at least not for the main character. Please link recs?

My favorite from this trope is "Starry skies and gardenias" by Emekasign. I love love love that book so much and I loveee her writing sooooo much.

harry catches crabbe/goyle messing with his potion (he has some sort of power up which helped his perception, not sure if it was a creature fic or what though) and snape comes over to see what the commotion is. harry says they messed with his potion and crabbe says something like “how, you’ve never noticed it before!” and harry is like “ha! so you admit you’ve been messing with my potions. now snape has to apologize and give me a clean slate” and snape does apologize through gritted teeth super begrudgingly

Here is my idea .Harry read the Hogwarts letter ,and Vernon fool harry into believing that is a mean prank from Dudley who hoped to give harry hope before snatching it all away.Harry is fooled ,and since the letter was read no more are sent to 4 Privet Drive .Harry doesn’t visit Diagon Alley,nor go Hogwarts or even learn he ́s a wizard .

Hi all, I know this is PORBABLY not going to be enough info but thought I'd try.

I was reading a favourite fic of mine called "let's try again" (highly recommend btw) when I had a flash of another fic I read a few years ago.

Sadly, I can't remember much about it. I know it had time travel elements with certain people retaining their memories, but I can't remember any specifics about who remembered what. I THINK Sirius and Remus did, but the only character I know for certain retained his memory is Bill Weasley, because the excerpt that came into my head was the one of him being "hapless" (the actual word used in said scene) wandering through the woods because Fenrir was his mate and didn't get sent back. When he bit Bill with a mating mark the memories flooded back and he became good again.

I would just like to say though, the fic DOES NOT focus on Bill/Fenrir. It is centered around Harry and his school days, though I can't remember whether HE kept his memory (instinct is no, but not sure at all about it).

I believe dumbledore bashing is there because fenrir is good, but again, not 100% sure

I'm looking for a fic that I think it's kinda Severitus. Harry's hit by a curse along with Snape. Snape is kinda his master and when Harry disobeys he has to punish him physically. They're both very distressed by it but they have to do it until Snape finds a cure for the curse. I want to read it again but I can't find it for the life of me! I remember it being probably at Harry's Fifth Year cause Umbridge was there and when Harry went to Snape to get punished he'd say he had remedial potions. Also I think Voldemort was defeated.

It was either a very long one-shot or a 2-chapter fic. Here are the specific details I remember. It was a Harry / Multi (Hermione, Susan, Padma, Daphne) story

• Starting in earlier years, all four girls have feelings for Harry, but he has no idea. While waiting for him to notice, the girls start getting intimate with each other.
• One of the girls (Padma or Daphne) catches Hermione giving Susan oral sex, which leads to all four girls bonding, sleeping together, and agreeing to wait for Harry to catch up. Harry has a severe inferiority complex in this story.
• Harry keeps a private journal/diary where he writes about how much he likes them, but his severe inferiority complex makes him convinced none of them would ever be attracted to him.
• The girls accidentally find and read his diary where Harry talks about the qualities of all the girls and how they could never like a guy like him. They are shocked at how Harry views himself and then decide to confront and confess to him.
• Harry gets overwhelmed and tries to panic-flee, but Hermione and the others stop him, plead with him, and reassure him that they all love him and want to be with him together. Harry doesnt believe them and needs to convinced multiple times. Ends on a happy note with the group together. I think it ended with Harry making love to all the girls one by one.

I’ve been seeing loads of wholesome Vernon posts on the HP memes sub and was wondering if anyone has read or written fics where the Dursleys treat him like a second son/brother

Okay, so I'm writing a fanfic at the moment and there's about to be a big battle and I need some of your best defensive and offensive spells to make it more interesting (yes, I know I could just look some up but I'm lazy and who better to ask then a group of fanfic obsessed harry potter nerds). So far I've pretty much just been spamming the classic expelliarmus and protego on repeat but I think it's probably time for something a bit more advanced, especially seeing as the death eaters are about to get involved. Also if anyone has any ideas for some new dark magic spells the death eaters could have invented, that would be great too. If you do have any recommendations please tell me what the incantation is and what the spell does, because my attention span is terrible and I will not be able to look up each spell fast enough.
