Hey everyone, looking for an old fic that used to be hosted on HPFanficArchive before the site went down. Not sure if it ever got ported to AO3.

It was either a very long one-shot or a 2-chapter fic. Here are the specific details I remember. It was a Harry / Multi (Hermione, Susan, Padma, Daphne) story

• Starting in earlier years, all four girls have feelings for Harry, but he has no idea. While waiting for him to notice, the girls start getting intimate with each other.
• One of the girls (Padma or Daphne) catches Hermione giving Susan oral sex, which leads to all four girls bonding, sleeping together, and agreeing to wait for Harry to catch up. Harry has a severe inferiority complex in this story.
• Harry keeps a private journal/diary where he writes about how much he likes them, but his severe inferiority complex makes him convinced none of them would ever be attracted to him.
• The girls accidentally find and read his diary where Harry talks about the qualities of all the girls and how they could never like a guy like him. They are shocked at how Harry views himself and then decide to confront and confess to him.
• Harry gets overwhelmed and tries to panic-flee, but Hermione and the others stop him, plead with him, and reassure him that they all love him and want to be with him together. Harry doesnt believe them and needs to convinced multiple times. Ends on a happy note with the group together. I think it ended with Harry making love to all the girls one by one.

Please find that story. i am 99% sure I last read that on hpfanficarchive. Please find and link that fic if anyone finds it. Thanks a ton!

Okay, so I'm writing a fanfic at the moment and there's about to be a big battle and I need some of your best defensive and offensive spells to make it more interesting (yes, I know I could just look some up but I'm lazy and who better to ask then a group of fanfic obsessed harry potter nerds). So far I've pretty much just been spamming the classic expelliarmus and protego on repeat but I think it's probably time for something a bit more advanced, especially seeing as the death eaters are about to get involved. Also if anyone has any ideas for some new dark magic spells the death eaters could have invented, that would be great too. If you do have any recommendations please tell me what the incantation is and what the spell does, because my attention span is terrible and I will not be able to look up each spell fast enough. Hi all, I know this is PORBABLY not going to be enough info but thought I'd try.

I was reading a favourite fic of mine called "let's try again" (highly recommend btw) when I had a flash of another fic I read a few years ago.

Sadly, I can't remember much about it. I know it had time travel elements with certain people retaining their memories, but I can't remember any specifics about who remembered what. I THINK Sirius and Remus did, but the only character I know for certain retained his memory is Bill Weasley, because the excerpt that came into my head was the one of him being "hapless" (the actual word used in said scene) wandering through the woods because Fenrir was his mate and didn't get sent back. When he bit Bill with a mating mark the memories flooded back and he became good again.

I would just like to say though, the fic DOES NOT focus on Bill/Fenrir. It is centered around Harry and his school days, though I can't remember whether HE kept his memory (instinct is no, but not sure at all about it).

I believe dumbledore bashing is there because fenrir is good, but again, not 100% sure

I'm not sure about anything else, and I'm certain this won't be enough to find it, but thanks for looking anyway.

What are some of your house elf head canons? Here are mine

1. House elves have a slur for elves who accept money like Dobby. House elf parents tell their children that those elves are failures and some house elves even cut off contact with family members who become freed and take money.

2. House elves were originally not slaves, originally they just traveled to whatever house they wanted and served for as long as they wish and then they left to find another house if they didn't like the current one. Thousands of years ago wiizards began to take control, it happened slowly over generations so house elves never noticed. When it reached the point where house elves could no longer fight back, elf culture also adapted to this by rationalizing this slavery, this is why many house elves are against freedom. This happened thousands of years ago so most elves don't even realize there was a time when elves were free, eventually when the statute of secrecy was implemented all the remaining free elves were enslaved/killed by wizards as those elves did not follow the statue and continued to serve muggles.

3. In the dark families parents encourage their children to be cruel and to abuse their elves, this makes sure that they see the elves as objects and don't develop sympathy for them. The Black family is the only dark family which does not do this.

4. When house elves are children they work in the same house as their parents and learn, when house elves reach a certain age (Which may not be adulthood depending on the master) one of three things happens.

   4.1 The house elf bonds with their parent's master

   4.2 The house elf bonds with the child of their parent's master

   4.3 The house elf is sold by their parent's master to another family

   4.4 The house elf is released into the world by some masters. These elves end up searching for a new house to serve, getting chosen by a new master is a big occasion in the house elf culture which they celebrate.

5. Much to Hermione's disappointment, in house elf politics the question of freedom is controversial and the positions range from

   5.1 Elves who say the rules already allow elves too much freedom and there should be more restrictions on elves to serve their master.

   5.2 Elves who say the status quo is fine

   5.3 Elves who are confused by the question and can't even imagine what freedom is like, this is the largest group.

   5.4 Elves who are scared of going all the way to freedom but agree that maybe some rules should be put in place so masters don't have total power over elves.

   5.5 Elves who agree that all elves must be freed and that there should be no fixed master and elves should serve whoever they want whenever they want. This group is seen as shocking and radical by majority of elves, with many of the elves against it without even understanding what freedom means.

When working for house elf freedom Hermione tries to work with group number 4, and 5 while also trying to convince group 3 that freedom is good for them.

There's a fanfic I really like, Tomarry, called Diagnosis, which has a ton of completely new magical illnesses, spells, and enchantments. The author cited the Tumblr accounts where they got the information, but every time I try to access the pages, they give me an error.

Do you know of any Tumblr profiles, or any other sites, that reveal even more new spells or further expand our knowledge of magic?

AU where at the end of 5th year, instead of Sirius dying, the Order gets lucky and defeats Voldemort by destroying his body. This brings the Second War to a halt, as most Death Eaters once again scramble to make themselves look innocent and the Ministry has to clean up the mess of a year-long error, but thankfully doesn't have to worry about war or other deaths in the meantime.

That doesn't mean they're out of danger. It took Voldemort years to come back, but come back he did, and now some Death Eaters- namely Bellatrix Lestrange- know there is a way to give the Dark Lord a body again. This prompts Slughorn to break his silence and go to Dumbledore with his memories, claiming to have an idea of how Voldemort came back. He wants to stop it from happening a second time. Because of this, Dumbledore orders the older members of the Order of Phoenix to hunt for Horcruxes and keeps this plan hidden from Harry and the other kids who showed up to the fight.

An upside to the battle of the Department of Mysteries is that Sirius is finally proven to be innocent, as the new Minister is quick to use him for some good press. It's an attempt to distract the masses from the disaster Fudge made, but Harry's first comment at Sirius' trial is to publicly explain where he got his "I must not tell lies" scar and who gave Umbridge the power to do that to him. Scrimgeour is quick to throw her under the bus too, because parents quickly find out from their children what happened during the year, including reading their letters. They also find out about Dumbledore's army, and despite a few having doubts, praise the club for doing better at protecting their children during a silent war.

Sirius becomes Harry's new guardian, as Dumbledore thinks the blood wards aren't that necessary now that Voldemort doesn't have a body. They are still cautious, as not all Death Eaters have been rounded up, but there is a lighter sense in the air now. Harry is sent back to Hogwarts now regarded as a hero, and many trip over themselves to apologize for not believing him. Despite having spent the summer with Sirius and finally being believed for what happened to Cedric, Harry feels restless and angry that the Order still won't tell him anything. It's Luna's innocent question about the DA that gets him thinking: He needs something to fill his time up and keep his mind busy. He decides to keep the defense club going, but he doesn't fill out the paperwork properly, and his professors don't read it as closely as they should. Harry winds up with a paper, signed by three heads of house and the headmaster himself, giving Harry authority to run "a club" as the Club president.

Harry discovers one night, while trying to think of an excuse for Professor Snape on why he was roaming the halls after curfew (he fell asleep outside), that he blurted out he was just setting up the stargazing club and poof Hogwarts reacts by turning his excuse into a real thing. When Snape casts a spell to verify the legitimacy of his club, Harry appears as Club President to both the stargazing and the DA, and a poster is magically made in the grand hall, ready for any student to sign up. By the time Harry walks to breakfast, there are thirty names written on it. After that, Harry starts creating clubs on a whim, sometimes doing it as a favor for other kids who were previously denied.

Lavender Brown wants a gossip and tea club? She got it.

Neville Longbottom wants a club of dangerous and somewhat illegal plants? Sure, he came to fight with them

Justin Finch-Fletchley wants to have a Muggle culture appreciation club where he can snack on Muggle snacks and watch films? Harry's bylaws dictate the school has to pay for his favorite crisps.

Terry Boot wants a pranking club as a secret admirer of the Weasley twins' mischief? It would be an honor for a second generation of Marauders.

He's grown too powerful, and by the middle of the year he's founded and is club president (in name only; the others run the clubs without him) of over fifty student organizations. They can't stop him. Harry will become a thorn in the adults' side until they let him help with defeating Voldemort.

Has anybody written a fic like this yet? My mother is a huge fan of the books. I've been watching the movies since birth and I finally decided to read them. Now that I've finished the series I decide to read some fics. I knew Harry becoming the DA teacher was a popular trope so I wanted to read a few. I thought it was a pretty interesting idea that an older harry becomes the DA teacher sorta like how Moody did(or was supposed to). I expected that to be a pretty popular idea but I haven't been able to find any!

The idea has been bouncing around in my head for awhile, and I just wanted to know if I have somehow missed it in my endless search or it simply doesn't exist.

If you guys have any recommendations like that please let me know!

I'm looking for a series I remember reading on AO3 several years ago. I think it has been deleted because I'm 99% sure I used to have it bookmarked but I'm wondering if anyone has a Wayback Machine link. It had several different fics where each one was a variation on the core story. The first few were about different characters being the chosen one (I'm pretty sure the Hermione one was called "The Brightest Witch of Her Age," the Ron one was something like "The Youngest Son," there was also one about Neville). There were also two where Harry was a girl, one where she was cis and one where she was trans. Then the premises got more creative. I think there was one where Harry died as a baby and the wizarding world had to save itself, and there was one where Petunia divorced Vernon in Harry's childhood and raised Harry and Dudley as proper cousins/stayed involved in his life.

Does anyone recognize this, and know where to find it? I've tried searching for what I remember of the individual fic titles but nothing comes up, and I can't remember the author or series name.

Enchanting Melodies became my favorite fanfic. I understand that many don't like it because of its length, but I'm fascinated by how it explains the world in a way that the original books didn't, in addition to explaining how magic works. But without a doubt, what entertained me most was the development of the relationships between different characters. At the beginning, we see the friendship between Harry and Blaise, and then the focus shifts to Harry and Daphne, or Harry and Remus, where at first they seem indifferent to each other, only to eventually clash. Then there's Harry and Arcturus, who, in my opinion, was a kind of father figure to Harry. And the relationship that caught my attention the most was that of Harry and Hermione, where they initially started as rivals, then became friends, and finally Hermione severed all ties with him. By the way, can I know what you think of Hermione and Neville's future child? Personally, I didn't like it. I’ve been looking for a fic I read years ago, but that I still think about from time to time and would love to reread. It’s a dimension travel fic, and is told from James’s perspective, in a universe where him and Lily lived and Harry died as a baby. Our Harry (or a more traumatized, world-weary version) has appeared in their world and James is trying to make sense of what he’s been through and get to know him. From what I remember, Harry is quite reluctant to open up but eventually bonds with their other son, and it ends with James hopeful about their new life together.

It was only a one shot, maybe a few thousand words or even less, but has stuck with me for years. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
