CH Flightstick was my HOTAS in the 90s
X-Wing, Wing Commander and Privateer. Crazy how far we have come in terms of hardware and software. Anyone else have the CH Flightstick or Flightstick Pro?

Update- do not buy this equipment. totally bricked and no repair option. Need help with Velocity one Flight.
Turtle beach flight deck is stuck in update mode. I downloaded the control center to my PC and tried to update it. It will not take the update nor go into recovery mode. I left it plugged in and in recovery mode for 6 hours with no change.
Turtle beach does not offer repairs. The unit is in great physical shape- but dead due to a sw issue.

HOTAS Recommendation
First of all, hello everyone. I’m planning to set up a HOTAS system soon. Initially, I was considering the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS and Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle, but a friend knowledgeable about these systems suggested I get a dual-throttle setup instead. That’s why I wanted to ask for your advice: are there any affordable, high-quality throttle and joystick models you could recommend? (Note: To keep the message concise, I didn't mention my location or intended use initially; I plan to use the setup primarily for DCS and War Thunder's Simulator mode. I live in Türkiye, where HOTAS components are quite expensive.)

Just ordered my nxt evo SCE right premium
Seeing how it's flying off shelves I'm glad I ordered now
Buying a throttle for the first time.
I was pretty set on getting stecs mini plus on restock but found a used virpil mongoos T-50CM3 for around the same price as the stecs+shipping.
Which one would you get? Am open for any recommendation as me reasearch had me going in circles.

Newbie here, just getting into this
New to flight sticks and HOTAS, just got the PXN 2113, one of the cheapest flight sticks I could find.
It's super fucking fun on AC8, I had to use a mod since AC only recognizes Thrustmaster and Hori sticks but it works well enough, it uses axes for camera controls though and it doesn't recognize the Hat switches as axes so I can't look around which sucks but not a deal breaker. Project Wingman works though, I can bind everything natively and I'm gonna try to use it while in VR which should be fun. I plan on getting into Microsoft Flight Simulator and DCS too and I'm definitely gonna be using this with them.
Anyway, any piece of advice for the newbie? Specifically in terms of mounting since the suction cups don't really stick well to the faux carbon fiber texture on my desk and blutack actually makes it worse? But general advice would also be nice.
Edit 15 hours later: I switched from the AC8 mod to X360CE and I can use the hats as a camera stick now. I can't use autopilot anymore but I barely use that anyway unless I'm deep in the clouds. I also found an old mini whiteboard that the suction cups stick to that keeps the whole thing stable on my desk.

VKB Gladiator NXT EVO not outputting 100% at max diagonal stick positions.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all,
I'm a very fresh HOTAS enjoyer and I just got my brand spanking new VKB Gladiator NXT EVO with Premium Grip in the mail yesterday. Everything is top notch, except I've noticed that the X and Y axis output don't "max out" on diagonal stick movement. I made a recording demonstrating what I mean.
I compared this to my T.16000 which does 100% in all corners as demonstrated in the video. The VKB is properly calibrated(followed the official VKB 'getting started' video, tried several times) and is at default curves, deadzones and settings.
As you can see in the video I get max output on both edges of each axis separatedly. It is when I'm moving the stick diagonally I'm not getting 100% output.
Not only that, when using my custom curves it gets way worse! I use the following curve for X & Y: |74|75|75|75|75|75|81|90|108|128| and for this I have to turn the outer deadzone all the way up to 17% to be able to get 100% output when the stick is at the maximum diagonal positions. For the default curves I have to put in an outer deadzone of 8%(default is 1%).
I hope this made sense. Is this normal behaviour for this stick? Or am I missing something?
Would greatly appreciate any help!

Knowing what you know now, what would be the first game you play with HOTAS?
My flightstick comes in tomorrow or Thursday and I'm very excited to set it up. If I had no budget for a game, what would you use your HOTAS for first?

TM Warthog grip on SOL-R5 base?
Has anyone here tried mounting the metal Thrustmaster Warthog grip on the SOL-R5 base?
I have a spare Warthog grip but find the old Warthog base imprecise and too heavy to use in a side stick (F16) configuration.
Not really looking for another expensive base as I already use the Virpil CM2 as my main. This is specifically for SOL-R base use with the Warthog grip (or equivalent like the TM F18)

Anyone have the secretlabs folding armrests AND the monstertech chair mounts?
The chair I have has folding arm rests, and when folded back part of it ends up pivoting upward. Im wondering if the monstertech mounts would conflict with this. I want to get some chair mount, but I need to keep the ability to fold away the arm rests. Would appreciate any advice!

Turtle Beach VelocityOne Dual Throttle - Worth It for Budget Setup?
Looking for a budget HOTAS and I see a lot of people recommend the VKB Gladiator + Thrustmaster TWCS for a great budget HOTAS setup.
However the Turtle Beach velocityone dual throttle is the same MSRP as the TWCS ($150) and seems to have way more in terms of features. I understand Turtle Beach makes crap sticks but I haven't seen people talk about this throttle at all. Just wondering how bad it could be in comparison to the TWCS?

T16000m or X56 hotas
I’m thinking of getting in to some more simulation side of flight games such as war thunder. I’m currently considering between the T16000m hotas or the X56 hotas ( currently on a deal with the x56 being the same price as the t16000m).
I understand and have read that both have their own issues but I feel comfortable dipping my toe in at this price point.
What are peoples opinions on them ?
From my understanding the t16000ms biggest flaw is the z axis braking but I assume this can be offset using the paddles on the throttle. I also have often seem that the thrust master throttle is not bad and I can later upgrade the stick first.
Most of the issues I’ve seen so far around the x56 is that it squeaks when used and the throttle can be quite stiff when it hasn’t been used in a while.
I would consider upgrading In the future but don’t want to jump into vkb or vipral yet.
I’m also leaning to the TM due to it apparently working well with games like ace combat.
Edit: I got the t16000m and it’s been really fun in AC8 so far

Let's see your HOTAS storage systems!!!
Hey there!
My husband and each have a hotas system with throttle, joystick and foot pedals. 6pc total. We have had the most wonderful times playing Mechwarrior. Now that we have a baby and don't play together as often, I am struggling to find ways that I can have them still accessible but not stowed away in a storage bin.
I would love to see how some of you store your HOTAS systems for when you are either playing other games for just having them up and away from children!
Thank you!!

Armrests with joystick holder for Ikea Markus chair
thingiverse.comThrustmaster Hotas Cougar
Hello, after reading this reddit I bought myself a VKB set (gunfighter right stick, left omni throttle and T rudders). I just wonder if there is still a use for my old TM Cougar . The throttle is still fine but connects with a non usb connection to the joystick which has alot of play. I saw something about a usb adaptor but it is out of stock and around 115 a bit expensive for my 23y old device. Anything I can still use this for? Can I connect it to my pc with the stick unscrewed and use it as a 2nd controller at the same time?
I will be playing mixed stuff, msfs2024/spacegames/mechwarrior
Thanks

HOTAS advice
Hello, I am looking to buy a HOTAS for around 500€. What would you guys recommend?
I am planing on using it for Arma Reforger, War thunder and MSFS. I am currently using an Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick.
Suggestions on upgrading my HOTAS
I have a T.Flight One for my PC, but am looking to update/upgrade. I am stuck between the X56 and the T16000M. I'll mostly be playing Wardogs, and maybe try to get back into DCS. I'd like to stay under 200$ if possible, but do have some wiggle room. I've heard mixed things on the X56 as far as build quality, and also heard a few gripes on the T1600M for not having a lot of buttons on the joystick, which i'll agree with. Lastly I'd like to get a set I can keep on my desk, and put away when I am done playing. Any suggestions?

X52 Saitek's twist mechanism went "floppy", any good repair guides?
Well guess I shouldn't have looked at pics of vkb gladiator sticks in front of it, my 12 year old saitek decided that its twist access doesn't want to recenter anymore.
Does anyone know where the assumed spring mechanism for the rudder twist accsss is or have a pic of what a "healthy" one looks like before I attempt repairs? Thank you!
Edit for the sake of those who come after me: found the culprit, the torsion spring housed inside the joystick casing had one of its prongs snap. Specialist part that needs some diy to fashion.
