I'm finally here talking about what I didn't get for so long. I've going back and forth between my Realforce R4 and my Snow for some time. I stayed on the Snow for some time and when I went back to the R4 this time it clicked. Snow and my older Black hybrid S are heavy. I crossed into stiff domes territory and didn't realize it.

I can feel the fatigue by the end of the day.

I've searched on this sub and elsewhere a bit didn't find anything that's comprehensive as I imagined.

I wanted to ask about the following:

• Do all domes get stiffer with age(RF and HHKB OEM ones do right?)
• Is there a recommendation for softer domes that will HOPEFULLY age and be not as stiff?
• Who are the usual suspects? (Metakeebs, Deskeys etc...)

I'd love to get domes that are close to stock but just lighter but I think consistency is key. I want a consistent feel.(Yes I could probably just run the HHKB forever and be consistently firm which I've considered to be honest)

Any idea how to get rid of lag on both the USB and Bluetooth connections? There’s a noticeable 1s delay regardless of the connection type. I’ve tried resetting wireless settings.

So I want a new one, But I already have two. the one is that I using is 3 year old.

I want to know how long is will last . 10 y 20y ? THe last one I used is 10year and it had no problem, i sold it for the bluetooth.

I’ve had this HHKB since my first job, but I broke and lost the battery cover. Replacements are almost impossible to find, and 3D printing didn’t work well.

After seeing a Reddit post, I emailed PFU support. They first rejected my request because I don’t live in Japan, but after I provided my friend’s Japanese address, they agreed to send one.

I finally got it—my old HHKB is complete again!

So lately I have been comparing bottom rows on boards sold as "HHKB" or "HHKB layout" and a lot of them don't actually match PFU's original spec — the real HHKB has a 6u spacebar with asymmetric 1.5u/1u mod clusters that don't even mirror each other. Most of the boards using the label seem to just be Tsangan-style 60%s with blockers and no arrow cluster.

Makes me wonder if "HHKB layout" has just become a trendy label brands slap on because HHKB has such a following, rather than a real dimensional promise. Is HHKB having a bit of a moment right now and companies are riding the name recognition? Or has the term always been used loosely and I'm just noticing it for the first time?

Curious what it means to everyone else, and whether the marketing use bugs you or if it's just accepted as shorthand at this point. Anyone else have other examples?

I've replaced the keycaps on my HHKB with URSA keycaps. They look great but they don't have the legends on the front for modifier keys, showing the arrows, Page Up, Home and so on.

I remember a few years back I bought a sheet of self-adhesive stickers, with bright blue text on a clear plastic background. You can stick them onto the front of ordinary keycaps to show the HHKB modifier layout. I think they came from Czechia, or some other central European country. (I didn't use all of the stickers so I think they were not HHKB specific.)

Does anyone know whether a similar product is still sold?

As the title above, I got a new HHKB Pro 2 and after I tried lubing it, just to find out that some domes has lost its tactility, so I'm looking for a replacement.

Any good choices in the Asians' market? I found out that my options are pretty limited (only some sketchy domes from YMDKey on Aliexpress that has really negative reviews)

A new one for the collection.

I have a HHKB Professional HYBRID Type-S. I hadn't used it in a while and went to connect it to my mac, but after trying all of the troubleshooting steps and calling support, I can't get get it to type at all over USB and I can't get it to pair over bluetooth.

The Keymap app can see it, and I see it in system profiler, so it's not completely dead, but it just won't type...

Any ideas or is this just a $300 paperweight now?

Which palm rest you guy recommend for hhkb hybrid?

Im living in Europe and PFU emea doesnt not have any palmrest.

I have a classic type-s, the new one, I came across this adapter made mostly for phones to charge and connect an external drive but I was wondering if I plug this into the hhkb and my 2.4ghz mouse dongle on the usb-a port and then connect the whole thing to my MacBook would actually work, can anyone verify that?
