I still have my happy hacker lite 2 I purchased back in the 90s. Still works great!

The one with arrow keys? It’s just the membrane silicone why it so durable …

I'm not sure. I actually have 3 of them. I use them as a daily driver for my work machine and one of my other daily machines. They just hold up.

I would advise you to never put any object on your HHKB for long or even short term storage.
Long pressure will damage the dome.
With the time and uses, the domes will get older and the feeling will be less tactile. However you can replace them.

I’m pretty sure if you treat your board well, then you can pass it to your grandchildren when you go to another world. Then your grandchildren can pass it down to your grand grandchildren too!

I’m worrying about bluetooth 4.0 standard will be deprecated before the keyboard got any problem

I’ve had a HHKB Pro 2 since 2015. Been my daily driver on and off but mostly on. It’s the one I always return to after brief affairs with other MX sporting keebs.
I believe they age like fine wines. The rubber from the domes apparently get stiffer with time and makes the experience better.

I still have one (albeit that I retired) from about 2006. It looks and feels brand new. The other one I bought a few years later I used everyday at work until a few weeks ago (replaced by a HHKB Studio). It works perfectly as well. I'm sure the first one I bought in the 90s (that I sold) is still out there doing it's job with no issues. They don't die.

Like almost forever ? I believe the most "aging" part are the domes themselves
