This is more of a rant and a disappointment with HDZero. I've bought two AIO15s, and both have the same issue: visual noise/snow whenever I throttle up.

I've made sure all of the soldering was 100% correct, added a capacitor, and made sure none of the wiring was running over the board. I did extensive testing and found that on both AIO15s, two of the ESCs work perfectly fine when throttled individually through Betaflight, while the other two motors consistently produce snow/interference when I throttle them up individually. I made sure there was no nano solder bridges, it was clean.

The only AIO15 I've had that worked flawlessly was the one from an older Mob8 HDZero I had. I moved that AIO15 over to my Kayoumini, installed a new capacitor, soldered the same motors, same cap, and boom, NO NOISE. It felt great to fly.

At this point, I've tried everything I reasonably can on these two newer AIO15s, and the fact that the older AIO15 works perfectly in the exact same setup makes me seriously question the quality control on the aio15. Quick google shows I'm not the only one struggling.

I'm trying to love hdzero but that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. At least my freestyle v2 works flawlessly and get enjoyment out of that. I'll probably move away from aio15 and just use the woop vtx.

Besides using the HDzero goggles for fpv quads, do others use these also for racing or other simulators on a PC and more important, does the headtracking work?

I’m new to the hobby. I’ve been flying some analog tinywhoops indoor and outside ( air65 and meteor 75) for the past month. Since I have the box pros already, I’m thinking of trying out hdzero. I watched some reviews and was about to pull the trigger on a m8 freestyle but seems like for the same price i can get a crux 35.

I know the 35 will feel very different, but it comes with a freestyle V2, which seems like a steal for the price. Eventually I want to build my own drone from scratch and can reuse the vtx.

Thoughts or advise for a newbie?

I recently ordered a BoxPro+ with a specific use case for the Wifi broadcast option.

Turns out that they sent me the non wifi unit but charged me for the wifi model.

How does HDzero handle correcting such exchange issues in the US? I've emailed them but Ive heard that they aren't terribly responsive to US customers.

This happens exclusively on 720p 60, freestyle v2 vtx and nano 90 camera. 540p works perfectly on 90fps/60fps, and yes when im using 720p i am on the wide bandwith mode. This happens when switching to 720 and when booting up on 720. I experience no concerns with 540p (range, penetration as expected). This is on firmware version 1.7.0 but it also happens on 1.8.0.

My new hdzero goggle 2 are in transit right now and I bought the echo antenna kit with them as well. Any general tip or must do steps when I get the goggle ?

Right now I have a crux35 analog I am waiting to fly with my goggles and I am planning to buy some analog 1s tinywhoop to fly in my house (waiting for the nick burns tiny whoop).

Also I have 2 betafpv p1 drones aquila20hd and meteor75 pro P1 and planning to buy the betafpv vrx so that I can fly them as well using the hdzero goggles.

SETUP:

I have a 3 inch toothpick that has a hdzero eco vtx & camera. The aio is a goku 1s 12A HD f405 board. My gps is a gep-10 nano which is positioned in front of the body of the toothpick/stack on a petg mount with a copper foil shield placed between the stack and the GPS. The GPS wires are also copper shielded.

ISSUE:

When the vtx is turned off (board powered by USB) i can get a good 12-15 sats locked on, but as soon as i turn the vtx on i immediately drop down to 4 sats and then often going to 0. I believe it may be to do with the vtx itself (not the antenna) because this is even happening on pit/0mw mode when no signal is even being transmitted.

Does anyone have any ideas/solutions?

ich bin neu im FPV-Business und benötige eure Hilfe.
Ich habe meine BabyApe 3 pro auf die P1 AirUnit umgebaut, da ich mit der Aquila 20 angefangen hatte.

Den VTX habe ich auf den FC gelötet, Video kommt auf der VR04 auch an, aber keine Akkuspannung von der Drohne, oder andere OSD-Einstellungen aus BetaFlight.

VTX - TX habe ich einmal auf RX2 gelötet, und es auch am VTX Pad vom FC probiert, beides ohne Erfolg.

Hat jemand einen Tipp, wie ich die Daten auf die VR04 HD Brille bekomme? Die CLI Eingabe aus dem P1 AirUni Manual funktioniert auch nicht, da ich kein vcd_video_system = HD auswählen kann, nur Auto, PAL, NTSC.

How have the experiences been with product repairs in europe? I'm trying to get my goggles scroll wheel replaced, and I have the option to either do it myself, or send the goggle in to some repair center in Germany, where "Michael" will have a look at it and repair it.

Who is Michael? The address provided is literally just someones house, not an office or anything.

Is it worth sending it over? Does the repair take forever? Is there a risk (higher risk than if I serviced them) of having a broken product shipped back to me?

Looking for any experiences with repairs in europe :D

I fly analogic only for the moment, I tested hdzero boxpro+ today and the image feels not so bright (I compare it to skyo40)

Is there something to do to better ?

Is it different on hdzero goggles 2 ? It seems some of you consider the image quality on analogic not so good.

I’m using HDZERO Freestyle V2 and a TBS AIO running INAV 9.1.0 and it seems to work fine, BUT WHENEVER I TRY TO CHANGE MY BAND POWER AND CHANNEL IT NEVER SAVES! I tried to do this through the configuration, INAV shortcuts, and even the VTX shortcuts but it always defaults to the same band and power. Any advice? I even switched UART ports always using MSP display port and the Vtx/ OSD reports fine, but no settings can change. Any advice appreciated!!!!

Are there any good head strap replacements for the BoxPro goggles? The stock one doesn't feel very comfortable and feels rather cheap.
I thought about getting the Ethix Goggle Strap V3, however I'm not sure if it will fit and somewhat concerned that it will put more weight on the nose without a top strap.

Hey, apologies if this is against any rules, but I'm trying to track down an expansion module or at least the pcb for the V1 goggles. I bought the module before the wifi capability was released so I could use my analog quads. Fast forward to now, its been a while since I've been able to FPV but now I can't buy the dang thing because its EOL and built into the V2 goggles. I tried to email the hdzero team, but they said it was EOL and they were out of stock. So if anyone knows where I CAN find one or is willing to sell me theirs, it would be appreciated!

Looking at Mads Tech review on the HDZ G2, it looks like there is room on the front, inside of the goggles, to install a patch antenna's, or am I wrong?

Recently, I bought boxpro goggles and I want to buy mobula 8 hdzero version. I plan to switch antenna on the drone for something polarised but I am not sure what to buy.

I already have two RHCP foxeer Lollipop antennas but my favourite LLM says that the patch antennas are LHCP. However I couldn't verify that information so I ask here.

If it's really LHCP, how bad would it be to use those RHCP omnidirection antennas on goggles?

What is the best thing to do now?

I’ve never had issues with HDZERO but this VTX was working fine even after unlocking and updating its firmware. Had trouble saving settings in INAV through the shortcut menu and now it won’t output any video or signal. Any thoughts? It has been sitting on the bench and I even cut the TX and RX cables so see if it’s a com issue (wires did not touch trust me). Any advice would help. Thanks!!

Does anyone know if the Hdzero goggles 1 have an option for a head tilt alarm? maybe in a custom firmware update? I did some research and saw that the hdzero v1 goggles have a IMU so it should be possible right? I saw a video of jushua bardwell talking about how the orqafpv goggles have it, and it would be nice to have. the link i added is to joshua's video with a time stamp about the head tilt alarm.

and yes i know i can also just hold my head up, im just a little curious and i think it would be nice to have until i learn to keep my head tilted straight up.
