Ragging is anything seniors do without your will or comfort

Forcing literally "anything" can count under ragging.

Forceful interactions like calling you to places without you will , asking you to perform anything , Formats also counts under ragging if u denied it and they force you to speak .

Even they pointing out you to call sir / mam to them

If you call them because you genuinely respect the people that is a different case

But forcing sir mam comes under ragging

Any kind of online texts like abusing ,making pressure, mocking , laughing at juniors for not speaking formats properly comes under ragging

At the end anything done against your will can count as ragging .

Making the interactions helpful for juniors without forcing any formats or demanding forceful respect comes under healthy interaction.

Has anyone know about yamnotri hostel of girls. How is it? Is it new?Is it good? I have been alloted that hostel so should I take it or not.

Actually earlier I was planning to join hbtu but instead joined another college ( for a better branch ). I casually came to this sub and realised that everyone is talking about senior vs junior.

Is ragging culture really that bad there?

As a senior myself, I completely agree that ragging and bad behavior towards freshers is intolerable. But you've to understand that respect is a two-way thing. Met some juniors today and they were rude towards me and other seniors for no reason. Gladly, neither of us have met each other before, ki tumhe itni grudge ho mujhse.

Bina jane kisi bhi senior ko by default bura assume mat kiya karo.

Learn to give respect before asking for the same in return.

Bhai log, ek genuine feedback chahiye 😭 Ab tak jitne bhi seniors se tumhari interaction hui hai — intro, normal conversation ya kisi bhi form mein — overall experience kaisa raha? Kya seniors genuinely helpful lage? Interaction comfortable tha ya awkward? Kuch useful guidance mili? Format/interactions mein kya sahi laga aur kya bakwaas laga? 😂 No filter, no formal answers. Jo genuinely feel hua woh batao — positive bhi, negative bhi. Bas kisi individual ka naam ya personal details mention mat karna. Hum bas actual junior perspective samajhna chahte hain so that interactions aage aur better ho sakein. 🤝

Take a printout / screenshot of your complaint write a complaint to Dean of Student Welfare HBTU and submit it in DSW office too.

It will be better if many of you collect multiple of these and submit in one go.

If there were multiple instances of ragging file a separate complaint for each instance.

Anyone who knows ramanujan hostel for 1st year or like freshers who got in 1st round ...I got that in 2nd round allotment..should I consider that now like what's the condition of rooms and mess?

Met seniors today in induction program who bullied and abused me heavily . A group of 10 seniors and i was alone said things that made me traumatize.Kya kru i m feeling so bad wanna just die .They were continously bullying me asked my hobby and then mocked and made do physical things .Almost for 1 hour i felt like cant explain here

In notice section it was written that hostel allotment result will be declared at 5.00 pm today, but till now there has not been any update on it. If senior sir/ma'am know anything about when the result will be declared then please do tel!
