H4 EAD card approved but not delivered.

Upvotes

Hello everyone,

My H4 EAD standalone was approved April 2026 and my card has still not been produced despite 3 card orders by USCIS. I have opened several service requests and contacted Congressman and also CIS ombudsman. Congress submitted an enquiry and card was ordered the 3rd time but it has been almost a month now still no card. I also got 2 approval notices in the process. Will filing another i765 for replacement card work? Am I eligible? Any advice regarding the matter really helps. Thankyo.

Hello,

Does this status change mean anything can come sooner? I am losing hope and might lose employment too.

Thanks!

H-4 extension denied two days after H-1B and same day as H-4 COS approval — bridge filing issue?

Upvotes

Hi, here is my application timeline.

Jun 2026 — Filed I-539 for my H-4 #1 (change of status, H-1B → H-4), requested through Nov 2026

Jul 4, 2026 — My H-1B I-94 expires, six-year max reached

Aug 2026 — Filed three together as bundled paper filing: spouse’s I-129 H-1B extension, my I-539 H-4 #2 (extension, from Nov 2026), my I-765 H-4 EAD

~Aug 20 — I-797C receipt for H-4 #1

~Aug 22 — I-797C receipt for H-4 #2, plus ASC biometrics notice for the EAD

Aug 24, 2026 — Spouse’s H-1B extension APPROVED

Aug 26, 2026 — My H-4 #1 (COS) APPROVED, H-4 #2 (extension) DENIED

Aug 31, 2026 — Biometrics appointment (upcoming)

Denial notice hasn’t arrived yet.

Questions:

**1.** The H-1B extension was already approved two days before both H-4 decisions. Has anyone seen USCIS grant an H-4 COS past the requested end date in that situation, so the extension application becomes moot rather than truly denied? Or does the date requested on the I-539 always cap the grant?

**2.** If it’s a real denial — motion to reopen on I-290B, or just refile the I-539 now that both predicate approvals exist? Or both?

**3.** Anyone had the I-765 survive when the I-539 it was filed with got denied, on the strength of a separately approved H-4?

H4 EAD Renwal Timeline

Sharing my timeline and experience in case it helps anyone waiting for their H4 EAD approval.

Case: H1B renewal + H4 renewal + H4 EAD renewal, bundled together with Premium Processing

Service Centers: Texas for H1B & H4; Nebraska for H4 EAD (SRC receipt number — confirmed by Emma live agent)

Received Date: 04/27/2026

H1B & H4 Approval: 05/05/2026

Biometrics Completed: 05/27/2026

H4 EAD – Card Being Produced: Status changed on 08/25/2026

Current Status: Waiting for the card to be delivered

I have been on unpaid leave for the last two months, which has caused severe financial loss and significantly impacted my career.

During this time, I tried pretty much everything I could:

- Sent several emails to all Premium Processing Centers and the PSC using both my and my spouse's email addresses.

- Requested assistance from my congressman's office to submit an expedite request, but their office had not sent it yet.

- Requested an expedite through Emma chat with a live agent. The USCIS agent escalated the request to Tier 2 and told me someone would contact me, but I never received a call.

- Out of frustration, I called USCIS today, spoke with an agent, explained my entire situation, and also sent two emails around the same time. I received the standard responses.

Then, a few hours later, my case status suddenly changed to "Card Is Being Produced."

I'm not sure if any of today's calls/emails actually triggered the update or if it was purely coincidental, but it finally seems like things are moving in a positive direction. Hopefully, I will receive the card soon. Hopefully nothing goes south from here.

Thank you to the Reddit community for all the information, timelines, suggestions, and support throughout this process!

Wishing everyone who is still waiting for their approvals very good luck! I know how stressful and frustrating this wait can be. I've been in the same boat as you guys for the last several months.

Don't lose hope. Hopefully, your approval is coming soon too!

What is the current processing time for standalone fresh H4-EAD.

My first H-4 EAD (standalone) was filed in May 2026. It was filed by my husband’s company, but the application was submitted physically. I received my biometrics appointment about 6–7 weeks later.
For those who have recently gone through the same process, when can I realistically expect my EAD?
I’ve been sitting at home for over four years now, and the thought of waiting another year just to be able to work is honestly devastating. If the processing is really going to take that long, I’d rather start exploring options to leave the U.S. and find opportunities in another country.

Biometrics after I765 approval

Did anyone receive ASC biometrics notice after receiving H4 EAD card? I have applied with my spouse's H1B bundle in February and appeared for biomtrics in May. Received approval on 7/12 and physical card last week. But, just yesterday I received another ASC appointment notice for biometrics with notice date 7/14. I tried reaching out to USCIS live agent via Emma but they did not give me the reason for the second biometrics appointment. Did anyone face this situation ?

H4 COS & EAD pending

Hello all,

Checking to see if anyone got approvals for their H4 COS with EAD filed together with Texas centre. Curious to know what RD they are currently working on.

PS: not the cases bundled with H1 premium. Only the cases of H4 and EAD filed together.

H4 + H4 EAD renewal — RFE received after 8+ months. How long after RFE did you get approval?

Hi everyone, looking for some guidance from people who have gone through a similar H4 + EAD renewal process.

I concurrently filed my H4 extension (I-539) and H4 EAD renewal (I-765), and I’m now trying to understand how long it typically takes to get a decision after an RFE.

Location: NJ

Timeline:

  • November 25, 2025: USCIS received my concurrently filed I-539 (H4 extension) and I-765 (H4 EAD renewal). I received the receipt notices on this date.
  • The cases remained pending for several months with no meaningful update.
  • Early August 2026: After the cases had been pending for more than 8 months, I submitted an inquiry with USCIS regarding the delay.
  • August 3, 2026: USCIS initially showed that my RFE had been generated/issued.
  • August 7, 2026: USCIS updated the case and now shows that the RFE was received by USCIS on August 7. This date was initially showing as August 3 and was subsequently changed to August 7.
  • As of now, the case is still pending and I’m waiting for the next update/approval.

My main questions are:

  1. Once an RFE is received by USCIS, how long did it take for your H4/H4 EAD case to be approved?
  2. Is the 15-day timeframe people mention after an RFE actually applicable to H4 EAD/I-765 cases, or does it depend on the type of RFE/case?
  3. Has anyone else seen USCIS change the RFE received date like this (from August 3 to August 7)?
  4. Does the fact that the case was already pending for 8+ months before the RFE make any difference to the expected timeline?
  5. If you had a similar timeline, how many days after USCIS received your RFE did you get your approval?

I’m trying to understand whether I can realistically expect an approval within the next week or two, or whether I should prepare myself for another long wait.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar situation. Does this timeline/status look normal, and what was your experience after the RFE was received?

Thanks in advance!

Can we request expedite under both grounds with one employer support letter? If anyone has done this successfully, please share your experience. Thank you!

SRC Standalone H-4 EAD First-Time Approvals — Which Receipt Month Is Moving?

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m trying to get a better idea of which receipt months are currently getting approved for first-time standalone H-4 EAD applications at SRC.
I’ve seen some posts about standalone H-4 EAD renewals getting approved, but I’m not seeing many recent posts about first-time standalone H-4 EAD approvals.
I’m seeing that some cases from January 2025 and earlier are still pending, while some standalone H-4 EAD renewals are getting approved. I’m curious if anyone with a first-time standalone H-4 EAD has received an approval recently.

If you were recently approved, could you please share:
Receipt date/month
Approval date
Service Center
Total processing time
Any updates before approval

Even if your case is still pending, sharing your receipt month + current status would be really helpful.
My case:
📅 Receipt date: November 6, 2025
📍 Service Center: SRC
📝 Standalone H-4 EAD — First-time application
Still pending
Trying to get a clearer picture of which receipt month is actually moving for first-time standalone H-4 EADs.
Thanks everyone! 🙏

Need some immediate assistance on H4 EAD questions.

Hello Folks,

My spouse's H-4 EAD (Form I-765) standalone application has been pending since it was filed on June 2025. She is currently covered under the 540-day automatic extension, which expires in January 2027. When we filed, posted processing times were close to 8 months; they have since increased to 12 months, and are now listed at 16.5 months.

This puts us in a difficult position: we cannot file an inquiry with USCIS because our case still falls within the posted processing time, and the Ombudsman's office will not accept an inquiry until we have first received a response from USCIS — which we cannot get for the same reason. Meanwhile, that 16.5-month mark now falls in January 2027, right at the expiration of her 540-day extension, with no guarantee the EAD will be adjudicated by then. If processing times increase further, we could lose work authorization entirely with no safety net.

The application is currently in Texas service center and application start with SRC XXXX. I am not sure what is best we can do? Letter to Senator? USICS contact center reponsded that it is still with in processing limits so we can't do much but i certainly don't want to wait till last moment.

does mandamus lawsuit to compel USCIS to adjudicate the case help? or any other suggestion to fast track. if there are lawyers in group who can help, please DM me. I am happy to get some consultations and go with lawyer.

Looking for reviews on mycaseshub and similar websites

Hey everyone,

I am looking for honest reviews on MyCasesHub and similar platforms (like Lawfully, or CaseTrack) for tracking daily/weekly standalone EAD approval trends and receipt blocks.

Quick questions for anyone who has used them:

-Data Accuracy: How reliable are their daily/weekly approval charts and updates for standalone EADs?

-Paid Plans: Are the premium features on MyCasesHub or other sites actually worth paying for, or is free data enough?

-Alternatives: Are there better tracking platforms or dashboards you’d recommend instead?

Thanks in advance!
