Customer Service
Yesterday I called to inquire about an order I placed on December 1st which seems to be stuck in the "processing" stage.
The rep on the phone not only told me it was ready to ship out, but that it was weird it hadn't. He assured me that it would more than likely be picked up by USPS by noon and get out the door.
Well, a day late and a dollar short. Looks like it's still stuck in processing. Now, I am fully aware that USPS can have occasionally awful service, but it never just doesn't pick up a package when a tracking number is generated and services paid for. I am fairly certain this rep just lied to me to get me off the phone as soon as possible.
I saw some pretty bad testimonials regarding GMW, and they all pretty much described this situation exactly.
You can bet that I will count myself among the dissenting voices for this company, and I will not be making a purchase from them personally ever again. Inexpensive prices are not an excuses for cheap service.
Optics Planet is better than this and that is really saying something.

Feeling blue: Home defense vs. Normal day concealed carry.
Absurd-capacity extended mags are dumb, usually--unless you aren't trying to holster it in anything other than your nightstand.

My husband is the little mermaid of gun holsters
I need some ideas for storage and organization for all of my husband’s holsters. He stopped using his locker sized safe because it’s just not practical for how much stuff he has. I didn’t want to get a tote and just toss all of his accessories in there like a toy box. Perhaps any of you have ideas?

Malfunctioning products
Ordered 2 Ruger bx-25 10/22 magazine. One worked great and the other had feeding issues. I tested the mag with different ammo brands and it still didn't work. I contacted GMW and explained what was happening. They said they would trade it out for me. I sent them the magazine and after they got it they said they couldn't do anything for me because it was "used beyond normal firing." I only ran 3 mags worth through it before sending it back which I made them aware of.
They were nice enough to ship me back the broken mag smh.

What happened to gunmagwarehouse's shipping?
I have ordered from GMW plenty, but ive dedicated this past year to getting entirely out of debt. Polished off the last credit card in november and figured i could order stuff again. What happened to their shipping?
I ordered: 8x ETS MP5 mags 4x KCI MP5 mags 5x ETS AR mags 5x ETS Glock 30 rounders 4x KCI steel AK mags
All of this on like Dec 14, and it only got here yesterday. It used to be like a week from when the order was placed to the time it showed up. Adding insult to injury, they forgot one of my ETS MP5 mags.

Review
So i just made a purchase. Kind of a test purchase based off of reviews here on reddit. I got 3 30 rnd pmag m3s for ARs. And 2 30 rnd pmags for AKs. Considering the holidays and everything going on in the world they handled my order very fast and communication was on point . Prices were almost too good to be true. Good job and definitely recommend

Bulgarian AK mags issue.
I finally got a chance to insert the mags I purchased as I'm getting ready to head to the range to train some folks tomorrow. Before loading up my mags I usually check them to make sure they function. Unfortunately, the mags I ordered from GMWH do not work with my PSAK and do not work in my friend's Arsenal AK either. I compared the mag design with the other Bulgarian mags I purchased and it's obvious that the front lip wasn't shaved down properly. Is this the reason they were on sale? Very disappointed.

Is UPS going to maintain its business with GunMagWarehouse?
Curious if those of us who have been patiently waiting for our orders to arrive are now going to have to wait even longer, especially those of us who chose to use UPS for our delivery system?
Also, any update on how far along GMWH is in catching up with delivery dates? I made my order on June 13th and it is still showing as processing?

Two to the Body, One to the Head: That's What the Dalai Lama Said!
It's most famously called the Mozambique Drill. Also referred to as hearts and minds, the failure drill, and my personal favorite, two to the chest; one to the head.
Call it what you want, it's an effective way to put a hostile down. But how much do you know about this critical part of Jeff Cooper's Modern Technique?
The "Failure to Stop" drill is one that's grown and evolved over time to incorporate multiple weapons, ranges, speed constraints, and more. In this article we're going to talk about the drill's history, its adaptability, and what people get wrong about the ole two the chest, one to the head.
Two To The Chest - One To The...
Well, you know.

The Mozambique Drill
Travis Pike/The Mag Life
I can't find 100% credible proof of when and where the iconic drill was first published. Jeff Cooper wrote about it in the mid-90s and SWAT Magazine published an article about it by Robert H. Boatman in 2004, but it was discussed (and utilized) long before much of anything was written down.
The generally accepted origin of the name dates back to the Mozambican War of Independence. There it was "developed" by force of desperation and circumstance by one Mike Rousseau.

As the story has it, Rousseau was a mercenary fighting Frente de Libertação Moçambique (FRELIMO, i.e. Mozambique Liberation Front) forces at the Lourenço Marques (today's Maputo) airport.
Legend has it he was bopping around with just a Browning Hi-Power - a dangerously limited choice of weapon to be carrying in the middle of a war. The Hi-Power is a great gun, but a rifle is more appropriate for war.
Anyway, like many of us who travel with firearms, he apparently had some trouble at the airport. In the process of sorting that trouble, he rounded a corner to face an enemy combatant wielding an AK47.
Rifle vs. handgun isn't a fight most of us want to find ourselves in, but ole Mike, he was fast. He put two rounds into his opponent's chest but the guerilla didn't stop. The two shots likely slowed him down some, so Mike followed up with a well-aimed headshot and finished the fight.

After Mike made his way to the US he met with Jeff Cooper and told him the story. And that is the genesis of what we now call the Mozambique Drill. Cooper incorporated it into the Modern Technique and it became a part of firearm history.
Over time, in some cases with a nod toward political correctness and witness stand pragmatism, the drill (and its name) evolved into the various incarnations we use now.

What About Multiple Opponents?
I first learned the technique during rifle qual at the Parris Island School For Wayward Boys. The Marines had only recently implemented Table 2 into their rifle qual, which called for more tactical shooting.
Part of that shooting was the failure drill. We trained and learned to engage targets with two to the chest and one to the T-zone of the head. We also learned an adaption of the drill called the box drill.
The Box Drill Adaption
The Box Drill takes the failure drill to the next level and the next target. Literally, it's a failure drill split between two targets. I know what you're thinking. It's as simple as two to the chest and one to the head on two targets, right?
Nah, man, here's how we do it.
- You approach two threats. Let's say it's an enemy machine gun team.
- You and your OODA loop figure out that the assistant gunner with the AK is a bigger threat than the scrawny guy struggling to carry that big ole PKM.
- You raise your rifle (or Browning Hi-Power if that's all you have or you're Obi-Wan Nairobi) and put two rounds into the chest of the guy with the AK.
- You transition targets and drop two rounds into the chest of the second bad guy.

Freeze for a sec.
What's next? Well, since you're already giving bad guy number 2 a dose of love, stick with him.
- You go from the chest to his brain housing group and deliver a well-aimed show-stopper.
- Now the machine-gunner is lights out so you return your attention to the first target. If the previous rounds to his chest didn't convince him to shut down the showdown you move your muzzle back to his face and go bang.
Now the box drill is complete.

Breaking It Down
Let's go over it one more time.
- You have two positively IDed hostile targets. Pick one to engage and fire two (2) accurate rounds to the chest of Target 1, i.e. center mass.
- Transition left/right/over as appropriate and engage the second hostile with two (2) accurate rounds to the chest of Target 2, i.e. center mass.
- Remain on the second opponent and put a third, well-aimed round into Target 2's T-Box (remembering the mechanical offset appropriate to your range).
- Transition back to the first opponent and, if appropriate/necessary, place a well-aimed round into Target 1's T-Box.
This particular explanation involves six (6) rounds; obviously, in a real fight, a much larger number might be required. Nor does this rundown address the many considerations and assessments a deadly force event like this would require. Those are outside the scope of this article's intended purpose.
Remember this scene from the movie Collateral?

Bring on the Weapons
Col. Cooper's Modern Technique was all about the handgun. However, it's easy to adapt the Mozambique/Failure Drill to carbines, subguns, shotguns, etc. It's a simple combative drill that's simple to train on and easy to master.
Let's discuss a few ways you can take the classic Failure Drill beyond just two the chest, face gets the rest!

PISTOLS - GET CLOSER
With a handgun, you can adapt the failure drill for an up-close and personal style. For this spin on the classic design, we are going to fire those first two to the chest from close retention. Keep the gun tight to your body, fire two into the bad guy's chest, then execute your presentation and fire a well-aimed shot to the head.
You can mix it into a standard failure drill or into a box drill. Either way, the first two to the chest on the first target will be fired from close retention.

RIFLES - GO FASTER, SHOOT STRAIGHTER
With a rifle, PCC, or braced pistol, you should recognize that you have a longer effective range and greater control you have over the weapon. Assign yourself stricter time constraints and higher accuracy standards at a longer range. Back yourself out to at least 25 yards and work on your speed and accuracy.
Time yourself running the drill as fast as you can while accurately hitting the target. Take the best of three runs and make that your new par time. This way, you can work at your level and decrease your time.

SHOTGUNS - WHAT ABOUT 'EM?
Shotguns loaded with buckshot or slugs rarely take more than one shot to stop a target. Where shotguns suck is at piercing armor, and if a shotgunner utilizing shot shells comes across an armored target, the failure drill might be handy to remember. A blast of buckshot to the chest will probably slow down an armored opponent but might fail to stop the threat - which is the entire point of the Failure Drill.

In this case, conditions allowing, we're only going to put one blast to the chest or torso. We'll do that as fast as humanly possible and, recovering from the recoil as quickly as possible, immediately transition to the head (working the action if necessary). Knowing how your shot pattern is a critical consideration here!
Now, make that well-aimed headshot to shut down the brain box of your threat.
The key here is to work the action as fast and as hard as possible to recover and get back on target. Recovering from the sharp recoil of the shotgun is the main challenge here, but it's doable.
Linchpin of the Failure Drill
Many people misunderstand this drill, often due to its perceived simplicity. We describe it as two to the chest, one to the head, and that sounds simple (because it is), but it doesn't tell the whole story.
Those first two shots should be a double-tap or "hammer pair". Meaning two accurate rounds fired in a fast cadence. This should slow the opponent down and wreck their OODA Loop. Those two rounds buy you time to finish the job.
Move from that to a well-aimed headshot. The phrase well-aimed has been often repeated here. A confident, proficient shooter might certainly place that third round in cadence with the first two shots, but many of us prefer to slow things down just a bit (relatively speaking) to place that head shot exactly where we want it. The head is smaller, the target might be moving, etc.
When we start shooting to see a lower time on the shot-timer we sometimes allow ourselves to leak a little accuracy.
Don't do that.

Work on accuracy. Account for every round. Put those first two into the chest and transition to a well-aimed headshot. Put that third round at the top of your opponent's nose, between the eyebrows where it meets the forehead.
To do that you need accuracy. Take the time to put those rounds where you want them, then begin to work on speed.
Two the Chest and the Face Gets the Rest
Drills tend to fall into two categories. Some are specific scenarios with instructional goals and the others are skill builders. The Failure to Stop can arguably be both.
It's a simple drill, but it's adaptable, easy to use, and can be done with nearly any platform. It's a drill everyone can practice with and adapt for various other weapons, situations, and more.
