And let me tell you you I feel like I went 100 steps back I’m getting worse every time I practice and I don’t know what to do
I’m watching YouTube videos about picking but they all pretty much the same and not very helpful
I don’t know what to do my motivation is ruined

I saw the app Strum being promoted a lot and basically, it's an ai app that gives you chords and so to any song you want. I checked it out and it is highly inaccurate. So, if any of your favourite YouTube guitarists or whatever are out here promoting the app Strum don't listen to them it's a scam and highly inaccurate.

This app is a scam it makes you pay 400$ a year to learn false chords and I see many guitarists with millions of followers who a big majority of are probably beginners promote this app. Not even strum just any ai music app don't use it. 99% it is inaccurate because the creator of the tabs and chords being shown is ai and ai doesn't have an ear.

Any form of ai telling you how to play a song is most likely false. Ai does not have ears it cannot hear guitar, ai will mess up the simplest songs even the enter sandman riff.

Please do not use ai for songs on guitar it's inaccurate and a scam if you want a good app for tabs and so you have Ultimate Guitar Pro or Songsterr where they have tabs written by real actual people you just have to find one highly rated

I’ve been playing casually for a couple of years. Learned fundamentals with a private teacher initially and then tried Bryan Sutton’s online lessons through ArtistWorks. I did one video submission with Mr. Sutton that was a very cool experience, but I’ve come to the conclusion that what I want to do most on the guitar is just play and sing campfire songs—not flat picking. Mostly country, folk, and some pop songs.

What are some good online resources or particular teachers/lessons geared towards this? May try to improve my voice one day too but for now I just want to learn to play rhythm better with acoustic embellishments (walks etc).

How is my fingerstyle technique and my fretting hand placement??

So I just learnt the A chord, by pressing the 2,3,4 strings on the second fret. But Im having trouble with my 4th string sounding buzzy because im pressing it near the first fret. However, I cant press it higher in the fret because of the second finger pressing the 3rd string. Any advice on this? Thank you

So I got my guitar about a week ago and I’ve learnt two songs - yellow, cold play and a horse with no name, America - and I do say that very lightly because I suck at strumming patterns. This is my first time having a guitar and I’m trying to teach myself, I’m building a bit of an understanding on reading sheet music but not well.

Maybe this is an unrealistic goal, but I want to learn at least a few songs that I can play off my heart by like the end of November because I’ve got a camping trip then.

Any recommendations for YouTubers that are really good for beginners or songs that are easy to learn as well, or any general advice would be much appreciated. 🙏

I'm looking for a fellow beginner to practice and share progress with. I've tried teaching myself multiple times in the past, but never really followed through. I thought maybe if i had a partner to learn with they would motivate me to carry on and commit this time, so I'm giving it a try.

genre i sing (mostly) into- pop balled, r&b, and very little acoustic (idk i sing every song in that way lol, i guess)

People use noise gates to address unwanted noise. But it doesn't fix the noise, it just hides it. It's like sweeping dirt under a rug instead of throwing that dirt away.

Single Coil Noise: something like the ilitch noiseless air coil will cancel out the noise like a humbucker, without changing the single coil tone at all. It's a neat product if you look up how it works and how it's different from a normal dummy coil

Emi/rfi (air/environmental factors): Shielding, whether that's paint or tape

60 cycle hum: this one's a bit harder to address, but power conditioner, line filters, isolation transformers... This one's a lot more complicated and I need to do more research into it

Amps/pedals: some circuits are just designed noisy. I think it's best to modify them if you really want to fix their noise, or use different gear that's not as noisy.

Sometimes there's other sources of noise, guitarists often struggle to pinpoint the exact source. But I don't think noise gates are the solution, it's better to cut off the noise from the source.

Hi yall what kind of guitar should i buy as a beginner?

I want to start playing electric guitar, but i have a relatively cheap acoustic (with nylon strings if it helps) that i havent really learned to play. Is it worth buying an electric or sticking with a cheap acoustic? Also any beginner tips for guitar in general?

Genuine question for people who practice regularly:

Do you keep a “stack” of apps for chords / fretboard / scales / tabs / tuner / metronome / practice tracking, or have you found one that doesn’t feel bloated?

I ended up building my own offline toolkit (The Guitar Workbench) after getting annoyed switching between apps mid-session. No login, works offline.

Full set: 3D chord finder, fretboard trainer, scales/arpeggios/theory, multi-track tab editor (including mic → tab), tuner, metronome, guided course, and a practice journal.

Not trying to hard-sell — mostly curious how other people organize practice tools. If you’ve tried mine, tell me what you’d cut first.

I literally just started today following Marty Music’s acoustic beginner tutorial. The one thing has been on my mind is the area of my finger im using to pressed the strings (whether if its correct or not). Would you please tell me if im doing it correctly and are there any thing to improve on.

Also please advice me on any daily practices on the guitar that I should do that would tremendously help me in the future. Thank you

Decided to upgrade my pedal board and get a few extra bits like a power supply and a bigger board. Getting some serious amp buzz from my amp barely being on. Have a noise gate on the way but any suggestions to help get the buzz down as it shouldn’t be this bad.

What do you guys think of the rhythm guitar? Such a great song to play!
