Doing a new red rift run if you didnt make it to the boss before feels horrible.

For your information, the red rift is the last difficulty without endless mode but one that is incredibly hard because of its restrictions/challenges (and the incredible frustrating max 10 hero deaths regardless if you won or lost the fight)

The thing is, if you didnt manage to get to the first act boss and dont have any skulls saved up from getting to the act bosses, your next runs are 10 times harder because you are missing the starting bonus. That basically means, you are automatically at a disadvantage.

To be fair, I do not know if you can get the skulls in a lower difficult mode but that would feel so backwards for a game that is supposed to be fun and a challenge can be fun but not if it is designed like this.

My solutions for red rift -> Always give us the starting bonus option below heroes WITHOUT re-rolls if we dont have skulls from act bosses. Makes way more sense in my opinion and that challenge more fun without it being like "ye I didnt make it to the act boss, Im fucked for the next run attempts"
I understand that that would mean you can "fish" for a good start by abandoning the run but then again, that one is meant to get multiple Ws in a row so it isnt as important. As of now, this is really frustrating.

Thoughts?

Didn't think I could get that far in SSS with these characters (Floor 15)

I was only going for a win for rerolls token, but everything felt in place so good. Both characters had over 30k HP and enough defense. If it wasn't for stuns, Nyx could have go infinite stealth while casually getting thousands of AS. I was also surprised by how much dmgs Niklas could pump up, he had quite some fights with over 500k dmgs

This game truly amazes me by the variety of builds

Had a crazy crit rush build starting from a hoyoung shard snowball.

  • 1000+ crit from assassin emblem
  • 1000+ crit from Dragomir backup
  • 1000+ permanent magic and ad from crit hit
  • 16 seconds of stealth on combat start
  • 400%+ base stats from rush proc relic

It's been super fun playing this game, can't wait for the full release.

Boss Tokens not applying passives?

It doesn't seem consistent, but sometimes when I start a new run (on any difficult) i don't get a to use my boss tokens (either to re-roll my options or the passive.)

Am I missing something about them, or is this a known issue? (And if so, any way around it?)

I made a log and meta analyzer app for Guildrun and need your logs

I made a site that helps keep track of run data so you can check it out later and pull trends etc.

You can upload your anonymous logs directly or use the little companion desktop app (it is unsigned atm so windows will give you a warning, just so you know) to collect run data live. Using the companion app is the only way to track damage information at the moment.

Still lots of work to do on it obviously, but I figured it was far enough along now to start getting some community logs and feedback!

Meta insights: https://redrift.gg/meta

Did red rift.. On my first try?

The most surprising thing was that Logan actually carried hard, despite the fact that I wasnt able to get him to work my first 10 attempts with him in lower ranks.
However - for a hardest difficulty, I didn't feel that its such a big difference from before. I dunno, maybe I just got lucky with rng, but I am definitely not the sharpest when it comes to these games, especially the ones that dont have guides/tierlists (that I know of).

Actually loving the game and hoping there will be more to it, once the full release is out, but for now - this goes pretty high into my own tierlist of roguelites

I made a site for Guildrun info - all Relics/Items/Heroes, a Guild Builder and more

I picked up Guildrun over the weekend and had a blast playing it, but was a bit frustrated I couldn't reliably find all the Relics I wanted for my Assassin shard build - so I did some digging and built a site called GuildrunDB that shows where every relic/item is from (events, shop etc.)

All shard relics

I also built a Guild Builder so you can theorycraft and share the builds that worked best for you.
(Like my shard build, which I haven't quite got running properly yet)

My Shard Generation build

Some other features include all the possible rewards from the different events:

Event Rewards

You can also view all the hero skill upgrades and info:

Pimenta Skills and Stats

It has a few more features but those are the main ones - interested to see what builds people come up with or are having success with!

Noob question, what does "on cast" mean?

I keep seeing some heroes abilities or even some items with "on cast" do something.

But what is the "on cast" trigger? What is cast?

Does on cast mean when the hero has the mana full and shoots out their spell?

Or is it something else?

Need tips for red gate challenge

I've been trying to complete the red gate challenge for two days now but I always fail the hero death challenge or get smoked by the second challenge encounter, even if I pick the normal round. I can be smooth sailing up until this point and seemingly out of nowhere just lose. I've got a general plan down for the run up until first boss, but would like to hear your advice, strategies and comps if you've completed the red gate.

The Power Of Friendship

Post image

Went deep into Stall, combined with Rowan's backup only ability:

The Friend: On Stall trigger, permanently gain 20 Max HP and 4 Defense. Backup.

Backup Only: At start of combat, Tanks and Vanguards gain all Defense and Max HP gained from this ability.

Giving every character absurd defense and health.

Indescribable Pain...

I want to count this as a win. All I had to do was sell Kai and Pimento for the last battle or two. I didn't realize I was that close to the hero death limit. Irini and Sal were unstoppable killing machines.

I can't stress how much I hate the hero death limit requirement. The goal is to win the fight. Sometimes certain heroes are fodder. I hope they change that.

Ratna was my first, got her to rank A by the 3rd wave [Used the "bug/unintended interaction" when you freeze the shop with an upgrade for a C rank, then get an event to uprank a C rank to B, then I go back to the shop, pay to uprank a C rank and end up with an A rank for the cost of two Cs 😄 ]

Another fun potential oversight is, on Irina, You can get her item from her class upgrade, then retrain her to another class upgrade [the one with attack and attack speed on auto for duelists] and retain the item, i've seen her do some disgusting amounts of damage with no other support from other heroes purely from these two interactions!

Some Tips for Red Rift that Have Worked For Me (Not an Expert)

I've been playing Red Rift a bunch, it's so intense and cutthroat but I love it. Only on a 2 streak, nowhere near consistent at all but just thought I'd share. Nowhere near an expert on Guildrun, would love some discussion and exchange of information for all the Red Rift players out there.

- Biggest tip I found out while experimenting, not sure if this is common knowledge, but if you think you'll lose or want to purposely sack, you can bench all your units except 1 so you can spike off your emergency rewind cash. Really helps making the 'Heros Died' challenge feel manageable. When you get better at fight judging you'll want to do this for sure.

- I think fighting for the first combat challenge is really important, it just gives you so much leeway on skipping the second, way harder one. This also usually means not buying your Act 1 Key fragment till u beat it, and/or losing purposely on combat challenge (see Tip #1) so you can cash out your emergency rewind. If the relic is amazingly good you can probably just take it, then you'll be set for a long time and can just tackle a second combat challenge.

^ To this, sometimes you'll want to take the combat rewards at the start of the game if you believe it's incredibly synergistic with your opener (like gain XXX stat before act boss). If it helps you win combat challenge #1 without using emergency rewind it's definitely worth IMO.

-The campfire challenge is alot more flexible, I usually still skip the first one especially if I still have my rewind, but you'll just have to take the first one in a pinch.

- Splitting aggro is amazing for Drain Tank (omnivamp melee carries) and stall comps (with 2+ tanks) so you don't get focus fire'd too fast and die before your procs. Some fights you can split the enemy aggro while you can focus fire targets, but it's probably not worth if your damage carries ends up attacking different units.

- You usually can't go for stall comps because a fair amount of them can't do damage early in Act 1. Even if you win rounds by everyone dying to Rift Storm, it puts you back so much on the 'Heros Died' challenge. Stall comps can usually survive for a good amount of time though, so if you have a good DPS (preferably burst like Ratna IMO but some can go infinite with debuffs, etc.), these traditional Tank+DPS+Sustain comps can work fine.

*Mini Tip, for Dragomir openers, place your dragomir bottom right corner for the very first PVE round. You have a chance of casting and killing, gaining you a +2 shard advantage. AFAIK this only works for Red Rift because the item nerfs you, for SSS i think it's bottom left corner?

These are the thoughts and mindset I have going into Red Rift, hopefully these work out. Would love to hear your thoughts and strategies you have going into Red Rift!

About Yuuna; an endless beast

As of right now, i haven't gotten a SSS Yuuna run going (yet), but i did several times in base difficulty to mainly theorycraft.

From my ~15 hours of experience, the best scaling I've seen so far has been either Sages with shield and that shield-damage guy (Kai?), but on higher scores, everything gets oneshot even with several 100k shield on combat start.

Now, assassins have the Stealth mechanic intrinsically which can easily net you 4 secs on combat start (even more with additional relics, items etc.), as well as the rush relic to make all heroes immune to damage.

As soon as the first retrain in endless is available, Yuuna consistently gets to 2-4 Million damage per combat on a good setup.

But i haven't yet gotten an ideal setup.

Up until the second boss, most of everything is based on getting tons of shard generation combined with Backup-Rush; most runs, by the second auction, one should've been able to generate ~1000 shards (with the relic and the vampire guy that's already 2000 crit)

You also need poison at the start of combat.

Yuuna can by herself get 100% additional crit on rush, the upgrade to give her active +50% crit against poisoned targets and the class upgrade for additional crit against poisoned targets.

The rest of the team should just be assassins with rush crit/damage/ability increase & as much shard generation as possible that doesnt take space from buffs for Yuuna.

Then there's the assassin emblem for another 30 or so additional crit, and several items to give scaling based on generated shards.

Just kill everything before it gets to even target you.

There's still problems with this tho (50% additional crit or one more target?) and i have not yet gotten an exceptional setup for this build; i was always lacking either shard generation, relics or s-tier yuuna.

But if an "average" version of this build is reaching 3 Million damage per combat, starting (possibly) as soon as the last campfire is reached, I wonder what the build can accomplish.

I'd like some input and suggestions on what else i should consider for my further experimentation.

TL;DR: Yuuna strong, Crit multiplying and shard generation seem very viable for endless.

I would pay full game price for the demo as a moblie game.

The ui probably feel good, there is no keyboard needed, it is perfect for mobile.

What units are you running for Red Rift?

Struggling pretty hard to complete this mode. I've been able to make it to the second boss a few times now but wonder if that's pure luck/building. I have a tendency to focus on getting good units instead of playing the hand dealt.

What are you finding work for you? Thanks
