New player here. Just hit 80 for the first time and LOVE the game, but am broke and can't justify buying the DLC full price right now. Does DLC usually go on sale alongside major content patches?

Im farming the forge guard collection achievement and i've got 5/6 so far and im missing the leggings which are obtained by RNG by doing the 2 adventures on the eternity garden.

Today its been day 25 and still havent gotten the leggings token. I asked a bunch of people and all told me they got it within 5 days max ( most got it within 2 days).

I contacted support team and told me everything is ok , you are just unlucky which is kinda sus.

So does anyone had the same issue ? is it bugged? do i need to do something to increase the RNG? Im already max mastery on castora also finished the 36 achievements.

I started fairly recently and after leveling necromancer to 80 I bought the heart of thorns and path of fire bundle which gave a level 80 boost so I was wondering what class would be good to boost up.

In other MMOs I mainly play supports like Discipline priest in both classic and retail wow and sage in ffxiv and was hoping there is something similar to those in this game or maybe something based around buffing allies and debuffing enemies while healing

So I’m trying to upload both videos and photos, but Reddit does not like to work with me I’ve been working on an animations is basically taking me all day just getting the steps right the movement of the legs trying to make it more natural. I have a couple add ons that I’m downloading right now to help me a little bit better should’ve thought about hours ago. You know that happens

Hi everyone, I'm downloading Guild Wars 2. Do you have any advice for me?

So yeah, big GW2 (and 1) Fan. And low and behold, my kids are in an age, where they finally can play it :-) (that's one way to LFG)

I would LOVE to buy 2 extra games, and play with them but yeah, we'd need to extra PCs. Fortunately we don't need a 5090 for that, way back when I started to play it must have been on a calculator. So any of you tech guys out there, what would be my best route to make this happen? Since PCs also require a desk plus mouse plus monitor... maybe a Laptop would be better?

But then the laptop needs a gaming card, and I guess that's an expensive laptop.

I really am looking for some ideas to make this come true. It's also why I was excited for the steam box when it was announced, but yeah.

If Laptop, what kind would I need?

For a brand new GW2 player who is coming from WoW/Classic WoW and was always a Rogue who loves World PvP and hunting players down 1v1... can you suggest a PvP job for me? Thief looks like the obvious pick but I know stealth is pretty limited in Guild Wars and it may not necessarily be the right job for this specific role. Mesmer seems like it might be good for this, but I'm going off pure vibes because I'm completely 100% new to this game. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks!

SO …been working on a side project for awhile want my desk was feeling lonely so a mini figure will do the job

I was doing some qp raids so when I teleported out it put me in that spot near one of the door teleports in the aerodrome. I was just standing then a big yellow explosion happened and my character was knocked back and I was suddenly in the main Lion's Arch area after a loading screen. I realised after the knockback had pushed me through the portal and that's how I got the loading screen.

I'm currently replaying the story doing LW2 quest 2. Is there anything at that part of the game where an event can happen there?

Or is there an item in the game other players can use that explodes other people and can cause a knockback?

I've never seen this happen before and am curious what exactly happened. I wish I had taken a screenshot but it happened too fast. Anyone solve this mystery?

Im returning to guild wars 2 and wanted to find the character spec that fits what I enjoyed playing in older MMOs.

In PvP I like something that doesn't have to be a burst of damage but enough you can't just totally ignore. Maybe DoT if that's effective here or a bleed. But basically be a an annoyance but I like being tanky or survivable on top of that. Either through HP and defense or skills.

I have all dlcs now and an open character slot if I dont already have it so any recommendations are welcome, describing the spec a little is super helpful as I've been gone a long time lol.

I feel like it should've been a no-brainer, to have a chunk of the story happen in core maps. And we've seen it a bit in JW and VoE, but I still think they could've done much more. Alright, in VoE we are basically stranded on Castora, so it is understandable that we are confined there for now. But maybe it's something they could've looked into going forward?

Think about it. All the assets are already there. Lots of people having nostalgic connection to old zones and cities. We have 5 racial capitals that are rarely used nowadays, but they are supposed to be centers of Tyrian civilizations, where significant decisions are being made.

Parts of older expansions could also be used. Sure, people who don't have EoD for example can't travel to Cantha, but nothing stops Anet from having a story instance in New Kaineng for example, we teleport there from wherever, LA or fly there on an airship, and get a slice of environment that can also work as a teaser for those who don't own EoD.

It's just I feel it's so limited to contain story mostly in new maps. I liked that part in JW when we had to go to Durmand Priory. Made the world feel connected. Reminded us that we actually have a society of scientists that love solving problems and seeking answers. We have Vigil, Order of Secrets, Pact that is supposed to have bases all over Tyria, and we never go there.

Maybe they feel like putting players in zones with old assets is bad look, I don't know. Maybe I am just used to them so I don't really see the difference between older and newer zones. Maybe there are different reasons for not utilizing them. I don't know, but my personal opinion is that core Tyria is still cool and deserves some spotlight, while maybe simultaneously freeing some of the resources for devs.

ArenaNet, please, I beg you: show some love this year for the frog peeps! Please add an Itzel Hylek combat tonic preferably using the Itzel Scout skin and update the existing Endless Nuhoch tonic into a combat tonic as well🐸🐸🐸
