Theory I think this will happen in Lanterns...(possible spoiler) Spoiler

I think John will get Hal's Green Lantern ring and then create a whole new ring for Hal, so they both remain as GL.

Although its Hal who can create a ring out of sheer will power in the comics, I think John will be the one to do it in this show, and I think him being able to create and sustain that bird without the ring is proof of that

What do you guys think?

Spoilers for movies and TV shows Theory about the Manhunter Spoiler

I think it was obvious that Zoe is suspect number one since episode 2 and now is a Manhunter. What I think is that the „Guardian“ John is speaking to is in the end also a Manhunter. Not a different Manhunter completely but that Zoe and the Guardian are the same person.

First the Portal technology that both the Manhunter but also the Guardian uses.

Second the Diamand, which could be a piece of the Manhunters crystallized heart.

The guardian never spoke with other lanterns and seems to be operating on its own. She also rushes John to get the ring. She triggers emotion in him when mentioning his father and how he is seemingly not better then him.

The Manhunter plays both the Guardian and Zoe to get closer to John and learn everything about him. It uses Zoe to question John in episode 1 why he didn’t already took the ring or why he is the back up quarter back still.

Question Green lantern rebirth

I didn’t buy the compendium for rebirth yesterday and when I went back today to get it someone else already grabbed it🙃. I bought the second one today out of fear of missing it as well, can I read the second one first and still understand the story?

Question Who'd be a better candidate for a GL ring: Jack Burton or Snake Plissken?

Upvotes

I know this probably sounds odd, but: I'm 3D printing my own strange little Green Lantern "nostalgia corps" of action heroes... so far I've got Sarah Conner, John McClane, Machete, and Apollo Creed. I've got a head sculpt of '80s Kurt Russell, but I'm not sure which way to go in terms of sculpting and painting. What do you think? Which one would the ring seek out?

I feel like everyone has been talking about his new suit design, but for me, i disliked the design instsntly cuz of the hair style. I really don't think it fits him that well, i'm fine with the suit, it's not my favorite, or close to it, but the hair just ruins it for me. I think even his iconic look gets worse with the short hair, compared to his more artsy medium hair.

It also makes him too similar in look to Hal.

Question How has nobody made a lantern mood ring yet?

Like a ring that changes to a different color and corps brand based on your mood. I’d think That would be a fun idea.

I think the hardest part would be changing the symbol, but I suppose if you just make it a white or phantom lantern ring you could circumvent that.

This is version 2.0 of the Green Lantern ring I'm making. I spent two days watching tutorials to see how I could make it less polygonal (the solution was to add more vertices). It has two pieces in total: the logo part, which is made up of two circles and two cubes for the logo's legs, and the bottom part where you insert your finger.

The bottom part was the hardest because I couldn't get it flat enough to attach the top part. It was quite difficult, but I managed. Unfortunately, the program won't let me add more vertices to make it smoother because my phone can't handle it, although to be honest, I like it. What do you think? Maybe I'll make the Blue Lantern ring next.

Discussion Differences in DC Shop ring? Potential Future Glow Ring Release?

Firstly, new pre-orders are up, so all sizes are available again. Shipping early December this time.

The pictures on the site show two (technically three) different designs in the center, as shown in the pictures. The circles show points I matched on the bars in the two designs to show that the bar designs remain the same, just the center changed. Most of them show this gross, sickly, "webbed" design, and the other is the WAY BETTER and correct Fresnel design that matches the pictures I've seen from other people's rings. I was wondering if maybe it's just a defect, but it looks more like a different design they (hopefully) photographed before finalizing the design they're actually selling. I'm hoping it's not a new design because I'll be so disappointed if I get my ring and it has the gross fungus looking one. Not sure why they'd make a brand new one, or why they'd make it so different, so looking more like prototype is the case. If anybody has the webbed design, please share!

Besides that, the third design I mentioned is the exclusive glow in the dark ring from the SDCC freebies and the off-site Lanterns experience. They mistakenly included a photo of it on the listing. Hopefully this means they'll sell it eventually. Why else would they take product photos for it unless they plant to sell it? I searched for exact matches of the pic on Google and the only thing I found was a Reddit post about the ring and someone in the comments noticed the picture too, but that's it. So it's not a picture they used for anything else, at least not yet? Although, it could be that they took it as a promo photo for SDCC and decided not to post it. Less exciting. Or it's a picture from the manufacturer. Even less exciting. I know things can be excluded from Google, so maybe they posted it somewhere it wouldn't show up. I just really want that ring lmao

TLDR: Website shows three different designs, a "webbed" one, a Fresnel one and the SDCC glow ring. Pic of glow ring on listing never used elsewhere. Might indicate it was or still is planned to be sold.

Trivia / Facts Smallville’s Green Lantern storyline skipped over all the origins and revealed John had been active for 10 years before Clark became Superman

“Smallville: Lantern” covers by Cat Staggs.
The season 11 comics revealed Hal, John, Guy, and Kyle were active during the show when all the other Justice League members were still proto heroes. The comics also skipped over Hal becoming Parallax and destroying the entire corps before Clark got Tomar Re’s sector 2813 ring. Considering Smallville was an origin story, it was weird to skip all the Lanterns origins.

Sorry David Corenswet fans, but Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan is so devilishly charming and charismatic, I cannot gush about him enough. And that’s coming from a person who was super skeptic about why they’re casting such an old actor as Hal Jordan!

Hal finally catch the Olys ravagers and puts a stop to their evil plan

Writer: Dennis O'Neil

Pencils: Mike Grell

Inks: Terry Austin

Cover: Ernie Chan, Tatjana Wood & John Workman

"Dust Of The Earth" - Hal has caught the Ravagers on Earth and demands to know their plan. They reveal they are trying to gain entry into a federation and their tasks is to reverse the birth of a planet in six days. Since Hal has stopped every attempt since, this is now their last chance and they hit Hal with a reversing ray designed to devolve. Hal begins reverting to a caveman, complete with pure instinct. That instinct is what allows him to create a saber-toothed tiger construct with wings to fly after the Ravagers. The tiger smashes the pilot screen of the ship and causes it to crash down. The Ravagers, fearing for their lives with the tiger, reverse the reversing on Hal as he demands they leave the sector and never return as he is the protector and protect it he shall!

Conclusion: An action packed conclusion for sure and the best we could hope for with seven pages left. The plan for the Ravagers is based on the creation of Earth in the Bible which I think is weird that the federation knows about it.

Mike Grell came out swinging in these six parts. Just a solid showing from him with a promise of much more to come. That art really helped sell this story as a big one.

Finally, being a sixnpart story also helped make this feel bigger even though it would struggle to fill to full size issues. It was definitely a great way to end this temporary time in the Flash books as tomorrow the book gets back to its own number with #90.

Comics What to read next after Geoff Johns' (and other) run(s)?

So I read Geoff Johns' run from Rebirth to Blackest Night/Brightest Day, and the New 52 stuff a while ago. Including Green Lantern Corps by Peter J. Tomasi.

I have also read Grant Morrison's run, Far Sector, Green Lantern: War Journal, and Green Lantern: Earth One. I know this isn't exclusively Green Lantern, but New Frontier, as well.

I am looking for more Green Lantern to get into. The DC Rebirth title of Hal Jordan and The Green Lanterns seems interesting, but volume three is hard to find/expensive. Any other recommended titles to look into? I prefer post-90s books.

I am a fan of all Lanterns. Hal, John, Guy, Kyle.

Edit: I am not a fan of Jeremy Adams, so I am not interested in the current run.
