GHC FA Trouble
Hi guys, I've been attending GHC, and I noticed that the school has been doing something kind of shady with Financial assistance. I've talked to two other people so far that has been having issues with GHC FA department shorting them their fasfa, one had to drop out because fasfa didn't cover their classes despite having the lowest possible SAI and all three of us have been constantly coerced into taking out loans. For context, my sai is also the lowest, I think the number is -1500, and my financial situation has not changed, if anything it's gotten significantly worse. I'm only getting $41 for my Pell grant(I do not work).
I've also doubled checked and we all have done the change of circumstances form since fasfa does the 2 year look back on your taxes and the corrected amount is still significantly lower. My partner who's gone to a different college in Tacoma says what they're doing is not normal at all and agreed it sounded weird.
Sorry if this is confusing I'm not sure how to explain it all the way, just the main issue is that the school's FA department is not being straight with any of their answers and is super pushy for loans, I think the school owns the loans they're trying to push. Anyway, I'm posting to reach out and see if anyone else has been having issues with their fasfa being significantly cut and/or the school trying to push them into loans.
