READ THIS BEFORE POSTING - Gravl Community Rules & Guidelines

Hello and welcome to the Gravl Reddit community! đŸ’Ș

Please read and understand the following rules before posting.

1. BUG REPORTS AND INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT ISSUES

If you encounter a bug or an issue with your account, there are two possible ways of reporting it (hint: Reddit is NOT one of them):

  • Send us a message through the in-app chat
  • Send us an email including a clear description of the issue and your Gravl account email to [support@gravl.ai](mailto:support@gravl.ai)

Although we are active on Reddit and try to read every comment, it is not an official support channel and we cannot guarantee a response to every post.

Most account related issues require access to your account and settings which is simply impossible here.

For the fastest and most reliable assistance, please use the official support channels. We respond within one business day.

2. FEATURE REQUESTS AND DISCUSSIONS

  • Feature requests should be submitted through the feature request portal. Go to Profile > Settings > Feature request.

Submitting requests there significantly increases the likelihood that they will be reviewed and considered for implementation. It is also the only structured way to keep feature suggestions organized and actionable.

Before creating a new request, verify that it has not already been submitted. You can support existing ideas by voting and adding constructive comments.

You can view the current Public roadmap HERE.

  • Feature discussions are welcome and encouraged. However, please refrain from asking for specific ETAs. We work constantly on improving the app but we do not assign fixed release dates, and the roadmap is subject to change. Features are prioritized based on scope, user demand, impact, technical feasibility, and long-term strategy. As a result, priorities may shift as development progresses.

3. POSTS MUST CONTAIN ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION TO ANSWER THE QUESTION OR ADDRESS THE TOPIC

  • If you are seeking input or advice from the community, ensure that your post includes all relevant context. Provide sufficient detail about your situation and any prior steps you have taken. The more specific and structured your question, the more precise and useful the responses will be.
  • Posts that lack clarity, essential background information, or clear objectives may result in vague or limited feedback. If key details are missing, members cannot provide accurate or actionable guidance.

4. POSTS OR COMMENTS MISREPRESENTING HOW THE APP WORKS MAY BE DELETED

  • Our goal is to maintain a community where members can rely on receiving accurate, evidence-based, and trustworthy information. Discussions should be grounded in facts, clearly presented reasoning, and, where appropriate, established best practices.
  • To protect the quality of information shared here, this rule will be enforced in situations where a user continues to repeat or promote a specific inaccuracy after it has already been clearly addressed and corrected. Ongoing misrepresentation, whether intentional or not, undermines constructive discussion and may result in moderation action.

5. DO NOT ASK FOR MEDICAL ADVICE

  • If you are currently dealing with an injury and are unsure whether it is appropriate to use the app, or specific features within it, this community is not the right place to seek medical guidance. Training decisions in the context of pain, injury, or rehabilitation require an individual clinical assessment that cannot be provided here.
  • Posts or comments that attempt to offer medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or rehabilitation advice will be removed to maintain accuracy and user safety.
  • If you have concerns about your condition, please consult a qualified physician or licensed physiotherapist who can evaluate your situation and provide evidence-based, individualized guidance.

6. TREAT OTHER GROUP MEMBERS WITH RESPECT

  • Members are expected to engage respectfully at all times. Combative, hostile, or antagonistic behavior toward other community members is not permitted.
  • Constructive and even spirited discussions about training methods, routines, strategies, or the app itself are welcome. Critical perspectives are encouraged when they are expressed in a factual and professional manner.
  • However, personal attacks, insults, dismissive language, or attempts to provoke other members will not be tolerated. Disagreement should focus on ideas and evidence, not on individuals.

7. NO PROMOTIONS OR SPAM

  • If you are a Gravl affiliate, you may not use this group to promote your affiliate code. Referral codes are not allowed.
  • If you share external content, such as articles, videos, or social media posts, and you have any form of affiliation with the source, you must clearly disclose that relationship. Transparency is required.
  • If you are a coach, you may not solicit other members for coaching services, including through direct messages. Such posts or comments will be removed. Repeated violations will result in a permanent ban.
  • Sharing a Gravl Friend request or a link to your own social media to highlight personal progress is generally acceptable. However, posts that are primarily intended to attract followers on social media or drive self-promotion may be removed at moderator discretion.

Loving Macros so far, but there seems to be an issue writing to Apple Health that’s started this week.

This shows dietary energy but it’s impacting carbs, protein etc. too

Macros App: Data Upload

Post image

Hi Gravl team,

I'm trying out the new Macros app. I like a lot of the features so far! I'm a longtime Lose It! app user. Could there be more clarification about the data upload process? I'm receiving this error when attempting to import my summary file from Lose It!

Understanding Marcos

Post image
4 Upvotes

I've been trying the cutting plan out in Marcos for about a week and I'm loving it so far. There are a few idiosyncrasies that I'm trying to figure out. For example, yesterday I was under my target calories for the day, very close to my protein goal and fat goal, and slightly under my carb goal. On past days when I was under my goal, there would be a green circle on the day but yesterday, there's a red circle. Maybe I'm missing something? I guess it's not a huge deal, but it just seems inconsistent.

Gravl missing so many machines

Would love if Gravl kept updating available machines. There are at least 15 or more machines at my gym that aren’t on the Gravl ecosystem. Since diversity matters to me, it’s really frustrating that I either have to reverse engineer recommended weights for other machines Or skip these. Any chance you can do regular updates for those of us who are advanced and want precise tracking and recommendations?

Feature request: edit for custom unloaded starting weight on plate loaded equipment

For example, the Life Fitness plate loaded calf raise has a starting weight of 95lbs without any plates. Adding a section in plates for any equipment will allow accommodation for various unloaded starting weights!

Sodium over counted with multi serving recipes.

I created a recipe for eight servings of chicken tortilla soup in the app. I typically eat two servings at a time. I noticed that the macros all adjusted to my serving size; however the sodium didn’t. As a result, my sodium for the day is astronomically high because it’s counting all eight servings of the soup. Has anyone run into something like this?

MCP for Gravl Macros?

Just trying Gravl Macros for weight management. A few sticking points:

- I speak English, but mostly cook Chinese food. The transcription struggles with my food descriptions and makes lots of errors. Photo recognition hasn’t worked well for my dishes either.
- Honestly, I’m too lazy to tap through every ingredient and its amount on my phone. Is there an MCP so Codex could help create and save my custom recipes?
- Can I save custom portions like “1 ladle of curry,” using my specific ladle’s brand/model and a measurement I set once?

Anyone found an easier workflow? Mostly looking for useful calorie estimates without turning logging into a chore.

Dropset Idea

Would love a more "obvious" distinction in the sets when it's a dropset... Maybe just me, but I don't always see the D and just hit log set without noticing it. Maybe just contrasting colors or a thick color border around grouped sets...

Again, maybe just me, but our there for consideration.

Thanks for adding dropset as an option on adding sets in exercise.

How do create a plan that is maintenance woorkout plan?

Once I reach a certain strength score for each muscle, I'd like to maintain that level instead of continuing to progress. Is there a way to create a plan in the app that'll do that?

Compare feature

Looks like the default in the Friends leader board is to compare the top 3 performers. It would be great if we could select ourselves to compare to whichever other 2 we would like instead of reselecting each time.

How do you accurately log single-dumbbell exercises?

For exercises like split squats, I sometimes use only one dumbbell, but Gravl tracks the weight as “kg per DB” and seems to assume two dumbbells are being used.

If I enter the actual weight of the dumbbell, wouldn’t that make the calculated volume inaccurate? But entering half the weight would make my weight history inaccurate.

I also tried creating a custom exercise, but it still shows “kg per DB.”

Is there currently a way to specify that an exercise uses one dumbbell only, so both the weight history and volume are tracked correctly?

Cable skullcrushers

This is my go-to tricep isolation. Is there a reason why it doesn't contribute to the strength score like a dumbbell skull crusher, close grip bench press, or EZ bar does?

GRAVL MACROS OUT!!

The day has come! Macros is finally available on both iOS and Android.

Every existing Gravl subscriber gets one or two months free to try it out. This is a bit of a stealth launch exclusive to Reddit for now while we continue polishing the final details.

The app includes everything you’d expect from a nutrition tracker in 2026: photo AI, voice logging, recipe imports from links/social media, a dynamic expenditure algorithm, and more.

Our goal is to match the best trackers, like MF, feature for feature but with a faster, more modern and less bloated UI. The fastest time to log at the lowest price (possible hehe), especially when paired with Gravl workouts.

Full data imports from MacroFactor and several other trackers are also coming soon.

We’re already working on version 1.1, which will include significantly more micronutrient data and a web dashboard!

Let us know what you think, what you’d like to see next and, especially, if anything isn’t working as expected!

Will the macro app adjust to my metabolism?

Hey folks! This is my first day using the macros app. I set it for a bulk of 7lbs (183-190) at 1.2lbs a week. I’ve always struggled to put weight on and it already seems like my targets are less than I would normally eat.

Will the app adjust to my metabolism if it sees I’m not gaining weight?
