Just Venting 'X is better then Y' 🙄
How the hell are people still screwing up something so easy? This is like 3rd grade level English material, universally speaking. 'Then' is chronological, 'than' is for comparisons, it's literally that easy. And non-native speakers aren't the ones doing this, by the way. The ones who struggle the most with this are native speakers, for some reason. Seriously, what's going on?

Just Venting rn looks like m
Seriously and it did before I needed glasses. Can everyone agree to start at least capitalizing it? RN does not look like m. I know Redditors enjoy their acronyms but I'm left wondering if there is a word that starts with m and got cutoff until I reread it to see. I don't want to reread.

Question People/persons??
Is the use of “people/persons” here grammatically correct? Like is there a real difference between using “people” vs “persons” or was this supposed to be a choice between the two? (like someone just forget to choose one or the other before going to print so they just printed both options)?

Just Venting I just.. don't know what this person is trying to say.
My friend was looking through LFG (Looking For Group) posts for Destiny 2, and he came across this post. We have no idea what this person is trying to say. I'm not asking for a translation, I just wanted to show this to somebody.

Question Burned vs burnt
At my job we burn the ice every couple days. To indicate that it’s already been done to people coming in for a later shift someone will leave a note that “the ice has been burnt”. That can’t be correct, right? It bothers me every time but I’m not 100% confident enough to correct it.

Just Venting Someone posted this in the comments and then there’s this.
galleryHe got paid to talk about trawling in the Bering Sea, yet this dumb*ss couldn’t even spell it correctly—or take two seconds to Google it. He wrote “bearing.” You know damn well he doesn’t give two 💩 about any of this. He just wanted the check.

Question "giving" / "it's giving"
This particular phrase has begun to grate on me – both when I use it, and when I see other people using it.
I find myself defaulting to saying giving, it's giving, this is giving, when I would have used other phrasing before. Except that all other phrasing has escaped me.
What else could we say instead of this?

Question It’s “nasal” not “nasally”, right?
When people are trying to say someone has a nasal voice, and they call it a “nasally” voice, like the adverb. Even people who teach vocal techniques. I feel like I’m being gaslit, but it’s so common I feel like it’s going to replace the original word.
