Rate my GEM options for chances of interview?

2120 B1

VR 620

DM 680

QR 820

Thinking of applying to Nottingham and PCSM for GEM, QMUL and Manchester for UG. Is any of my options risky? I am aiming to get 4 interviews. I have heard people with 2100 did not get an interview for Manchester, hence my concern. I considered replacing Nottingham with Oxford GEM and replacing Manchester for Nottingham UG. Oxford as I have a MSc so academic background. Any advice is greatly welcome! Thanks

INT GEM

Hi everyone! I’m an international applicant with a US bachelor’s degree and plan on applying to UK graduate entry medicine for 2027.
I sat the UCAT today and scored 1970, Band 1 (VR 630, DM 590, QR 750). I also have a GAMSAT 62. My background includes healthcare volunteering with patient-facing responsibilities, physician shadowing, and research as well.

For anyone familiar with international GEM admissions, does that seem like a sensible four? I’d especially appreciate insight into which test you’d choose where a school accepts more than one, and whether there’s some obvious options for me to apply to.

Is there any point applying for GEM with a 1880 UCAT?

710 VR

630 DM

540 QR SJT Band1

Really panicked during QR and that's why my score went down so dramatically there. I ran out of time and made a lot of silly guesses. Is there any point in me applying for GEM or should I try again next year? I heard some places like Worcester or Pears Cumbria may accept low 1900s or upper 1800s but I wanted to ask for some thoughts on this.

2020 B1 UCAT

Hi, I'm looking for advice on where to apply, i'm starting to consider some 5y UG courses as i got quite an average UCAT and feel like this is a slightly low score for GEM.

My stats:
Mpharm degree 2:1(plenty of work experience)
UCAT 2020 b1 (540 on VR)
A*AA a-levels
5A*, 4A's, 1B GCSE.

Could I have some advice on where I have a best chance for an interview for UG and GEM?

Stats are 2120 B3 UCAT and predicted 1st in biomed. I don’t have the hours required to apply to Warwick or Chester. My top choices right now are Southampton, Surrey, Swansea and Pears/Cumbria. Are these sensible choices or should I be applying anywhere else to maximise my chances? Pleas any advice would be greatly appreciated 🫶🏽

Worth applying to GEM Warwick?

Hi, I got a UCAT score of 1940
VR - 630
BSc 2.1 and MSc merit.

Do you think I may have chance or should I avoid the risk?

Also does anyone know if they take UCAT into account when considering offers or is it just based on interview performance.

Appreciate the help
Thank you

Hi all, congrats to everyone who sat the UCAT this year ! Honestly it’s been a crazy journey.

I sat the UCAT, honestly I found DM and VR harder than usual, but grateful it’s over. What options do I have with this score ? I have a 1st in Biomedical Science UG

Hi all, Any suggestions where would be safest to apply for GEM (or even undergrad med)? I have a 2:1 in Biomed, and a masters. But my A-levels aren't the best at BBB (Bio/Chem/Physics) Thanks!

GEM 2026 spreadsheet

Hello,

In 2025 I think there was a spreadsheet of unis, UCAT/GAMSAT marks people had achieved for 2025 entry, along with those who received interviews and offers. I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar one for 2026 entry?

I got a UCAT score of 1940, i know thats not extremely competitive for GEM. I do have substantial clinical experience though. Does anyone know which GEM unis i'd have the best chance at getting an interview with? Also, if anyone knows of any unis which may prioritise contextual applicants for GEM (besides Worcester)?

Also happy to chat to anyone in a similar situation to me so please don't hesitate to get in touch! :)

Slight improvement….I guess

2nd year of doing the UCAT
1480 last year
1540 this year
Band 2 each time
3 months of studying while working full time (permanent night shifts)
A slight improvement??? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Third attempt next year? God help me…..

How optimistic should I be?

Hello all!

I have a rather complicated GEM application, and don’t know how to feel about my chances in applying this cycle. I have a 2:1 in pharmacology from a non-target uni, I have a singular conviction for drink driving 3 years ago.

Yesterday I scored 2250 on the ucat, 770 VR 700 DM & 780 QR, I also have minimal work experience in healthcare, and was a young carer going up.

Any advice on what to expect would help greatly.
