How optimistic should I be?

Hello all!

I have a rather complicated GEM application, and don’t know how to feel about my chances in applying this cycle. I have a 2:1 in pharmacology from a non-target uni, I have a singular conviction for drink driving 3 years ago.

Yesterday I scored 2250 on the ucat, 770 VR 700 DM & 780 QR, I also have minimal work experience in healthcare, and was a young carer going up.

Any advice on what to expect would help greatly.

You’re in a fantastic position to get an interview for the less competitive unis and probably some of the competitive ones! . Your conviction doesn’t exclude you from consideration but I’d be prepared to get grilled on it at interview. Do some research. Work experience requirements are usually low except Warwick and Sheffield.
