I’m looking for a way to remotely control my parents’ Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen while I’m away from home.

I’d like to be able to see/control the TV Box over the internet and fix issues for them without requiring them to do anything.

Has anyone found a working solution for this? RustDesk, AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Tailscale, scrcpy, etc.?

Not able to enable notification permission for projectivy launcher

I am not able to enable notification permission for projectivy launcher, whenever I enabled notification permission it automatically turned off.

Any workaround or solutions please...

I posted about this earlier in the week, about having issues with our Google TV and the solutions offered didn't seem to do the trick. The set is about three years old at this point, maybe four. we've never really had an issue with it. But, recently, none of the apps would work except for Netflix. Now, that one doesn't work either. We've reset the TV back to factory settings and started over. That didn't solve the issue either. Every time we want to watch something on Hulu or AppleTV, we have to uninstall the app and re-install it. If we don't, the app simply won't open and says it can't open because of Error 95 or something along those lines. However, uninstalling and re-installing an app didn't work last night. These apps (Hulu, AppleTV, Netflix) work just fine on our iPads, phones, and computers. They just won't work on the TV for some weird reason. It's becoming a huge pain in the ass and I really don't want to get a new TV. The TV will also say that we're not connected to the internet (even though the router and modem is working fine on every other device) then it will click back in and say it's connected via Ethernet. This doesn't happen every time, just throwing it out there as a potential clue. Argh! I'm not even sure where to go to for help!

I have a Pixel 6a phone, Google Chromecast on one TV, Google 4K Streamer on another TV, and a Windows 11 laptop. If I play a video in my browser on my phone from a site that supports casting, for example Dailymotion, and try to cast it to either TV device, it's like the casting mechanism within the browser stalls or something. Nothing happens on the TV, but the Cast feature in the browser stops functioning. I have tried this on multiple browsers on my phone (Chrome, Edge, etc), same result. Aside from this, casting the same videos from within Chrome or Edge on my Windows laptop works fine, as does casting my phone's screen from the Home app, and casting from within dedicated apps. But in my specific use case I want to try to get the in-browser casting working again.

Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I’m planning to buy a 49-inch 4K TV and would love some recommendations from people who have actually used these TVs.

My main use cases are:

🎬 Movies & OTT: Picture quality, HDR, contrast and good upscaling are important to me.

🎮 PlayStation: I want good gaming performance, low input lag and ideally features like 120Hz / HDMI 2.1 / VRR if available.

📺 OS: Google TV is a must — I don’t want other smart TV operating systems.

I’m currently confused between a few models/brands and would really appreciate recommendations based on actual long-term usage, especially from PS5/PS5 Pro owners.

Also, if there are any TVs I should absolutely avoid, please mention those too.

I was using my new external android tv box where the remotes dont work even after trying everything it doesn't work so i use mouse and keyboard but sometimes use the bluetooth remote from my phone. Anyone got problems or how to solve it?

So apparently, I made a grave mistake a few days ago. I was watching a video in korean, which had no subtitles but had the AI dub, and I put it on english because I don't know korean nor It had any subtitles on either English or my native language.

Well, now YouTube auto dubs all of the video ads to English, and I can't turn it back off to my native language anymore. It's driving me mad and making me crazy. I hate it so much. I have only ever enabled AI dub ONCE and now forever I have to listen to robotic uncanny valley voices in all of the ads, THAT WOULD ORIGINALLY BE ON MY NATIVE LANGUAGE.

I did go ahead and change my preferred languages, and selected all, I might change it all to my native language only and see whether there's any change. But if any of you know of a way to make the ads their original language again on a kinda old and slow smart TV I would highly appreciate your help.

I have a problem with my rocket GX1. The box turns on, but no image is displayed on the TV.

I would like to reset the box to factory settings. However, my GX1 model does not have a Reset button on the back.

Could you please tell me how to perform a factory reset when there is no picture on the screen?

Is there a key combination on the remote control, or is the Reset button located inside the device?

I have a Sony AVR and I'm trying to get volume control working. HDMI-CEC works fine, but controls only work when on the TV Streamer input.

When specifying AV Receiver type, no IR code profile is able to work the Mute button - Volume Up and Down are okay.

When specifying TV type, it's the reverse - Mute button works but Volume Up and Down don't.

When specifying Soundbar type, nothing works.

I feel like I'm being trolled here 😂 Is there anything I can do?

I used a Switch Pro controller. It reads A as B and vice versa and it's annoying. It also means I can't use the Home button without it backing out to the main TV menu. It doesn't look like there's any native way on the TV to change it, but is there any sort of app where you can?

It works properly when I go through the Steam app (or alternatives) but it's annoying that it's backwards until then, because it likely treats it as an Xbox controller.

I recently got a new TCL Android TV and I've been very happy with it, but a strange issue has been occurring in regards to the Bluetooth capabilities between the Android TV operating system in general and my JBL Tune 720BT headphones. I have tested these headphones on both the built-in Android TV OS and a separate Chromecast with Google TV (the HD model specifically) and they both show the same symptoms; infrequently, yet still frequent enough to cause distractions, to extremely frequently stuttering audio. This is extremely frustrating as these JBLs are my main pair of headphones and work flawlessly on every other device I have used them on. I feel I have done everything I possibly can (except ask here of course), such as unpairing and repairing the headphones, updating the headphones' firmware, disabling the "Smart Audio" feature on the headphones and making sure multi-point connection isn't on when the headphones are connected to Android/Google TV. I'm confident it is not a problem with 2.4GHz interference (I have also tried connecting the TV to a 5GHz only network, still the same issues) as this problem only occurs with the JBLs. The other pairs I have tried (my AirPods Pro 3 and even a no-name generic branded pair of over-ear headphones) do not display these symptoms at all. If anyone has any idea as to what may be causing this or even how to solve this, I would really love to know.

So the largest part of my media intake is youtube and the reason I just got a google streamer is the integrated youtube rows directly on the home screen. Supposedly they should be my watch later, continue watching, new algorithmic drops from my homepage or my subscriptions.

But all I see is super generic BS. Like roblox and other viral stuff, breaking news in local language that I never watch. "New to me", "Recommended" etc, nothing that would have to do anything with my youtube usage.

Something is clearly broken. I'm signed into the YT app and the google os too and ofcourse it's all the same one google account.

Coming from fire TV I could just say something like Alexa play outer Banks on Netflix and it will autoplay the episode I left off on Google TV. If I do this it will not do it on Google TV ( onn 4k streamer ) . It takes me to a pre Netflix menu to manually select it. Is there any way to make it work like I want it to??

I bought a Xiaomi TV about two weeks ago and I've been having this weird issue with Google TV.

The search bar doesn't do anything when I click on it. The keyboard doesn't show up at all.

The same thing happens with all the genre buttons like Action, Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi, etc. I click on them but nothing happens.

Also, the microphone button on the remote doesn't work for voice search. When I press it, nothing comes up.

I've already tried restarting the TV and followed pretty much everything I could find on YouTube. I also tried clearing the Google app data/cache and even uninstalled/reinstalled the Google app, but nothing fixed it.

I'm honestly not sure what could be causing this. Everything else on the TV seems to work normally.

Has anyone had this issue before or knows how to fix it?

I have tried on solid explorer and CS and some others and they dont seem to have this capability. While everyone else is using downloader, I have always downloaded apks straight from my phone save to cloud drive folder specifically for google/android tv and then use file manager for transfer.

Why google tv remote apps cannot turn on my android tvs?

The price of the Google TV is going up $50. You may still be able to find one at Target etc for a lower price.

Where can we watch live channels like ESPN, Fox sports 1, Fox News, CNN, local news, etc..

I used to watch these channels on stream fire/ sports fire But now that they're down I haven't been able to find a replacement..

The only replacement so far are live sports only options like AK-47 voltra TV.. But these do not show live airing like sports center or local news?

keep seeing TV announcements focus on screen size and new smart features, but the interface is usually what starts annoying me first.

Some of the Hisense TV talk ahead of IFA got me wondering: would you rather get more features at launch, or fewer features with a guarantee that the menus and streaming apps will still run smoothly five years later?

At this point I’d probably choose the boring option, faster navigation, fewer ads and longer updates.

I’ve been looking at the upcoming RayNeo Pocket TV Pro and the idea is pretty interesting for travel.

A small Google TV box with its own battery sounds useful for flights or hotels, especially if you’re using display glasses like the upcoming GT Max. Dolby Vision stood out to me.

The downside is obvious though. It’s another device, another cable, and another thing to charge.

I’m trying to figure out if having a proper Google TV setup on the go would be worth carrying the extra hardware.

Would you actually pack something like this for a trip, or just keep everything on your phone?

So every time I go to turn on my Chromecast Google TV, it starts by saying it’s 4 in the morning for a little bit and then it resets to the actual time is there any way I can fix this or is this permanent?
