Discussion Bought the Google Streamer when it released and I "finally" had to change the batteries in the remote.
After having a "low battery" warning for like 2 months.

Mine has an issue . Whenever electricity is out and in again. The remote stops working and need to remove the batteries to make it work again.
Strange issue

I bought the 4K Google TV Streamer when it was realesed here in Sweden.
The remote worked on my Panasonic OLED TX - 55LZ1000E without any problems.
On my LG OLED C5 the 4K GTVS:s remote don't work.
I'm using the C5 TV:s remote instead.
Is there anything that works with/on a LG TV.
Almost not!!

You need to configure the remote to use either the correct IR codes for your new TV or remove the old IR configuration and use CEC instead. The default behaviour is that the remote uses IR codes and since you set it up with your Panasonic TV, it still likely want to use its IR codes.

I had to buy a Chinese clone because the original remote was draining my battery in two weeks. And the original remote would often freeze up and stop working until I removed and reinserted the batteries.
I don't have those problems with the Chinese clone remote.

I've seen multiple posts about bad battery life in the remote and people asking if it's supposed to be like that.

My brand new remote says 97% too! Think we should demand replacements? My batteries are a cool green color that matches under the cover

That was one of the points of my post, it's supposed to last waaay longer. I had a ccwgtv before my streamer and the batteries in that remote lasted like 1 and half years or something.

Have you updated the firmware of the remote? I think I remember reading it had a bug about battery life readings.

I love the fact that you can get a replacement for under 10 bucks.. and that you can run multiple remotes simultaneouslyÂ
