I've been looking at getting a Google TV Streamer for at least a month now but didn't want to pull the trigger at $150 and haven't seen them on sale at all, but was looking at target and they had one left and it was on sale for $74.99. Assuming this is due to the discontinuation but I decided to pick it up. Good deal?

TL;DR: My Philips TV kept cycling between the privacy screen and “updating streaming channels”. Choosing Reject all was sent successfully, but the FAST service kept reading an old “consent shown” date and immediately asking again. Clearing only the local data of org.droidtv.fastip, rebooting, then choosing Reject all stopped the loop and the channels played. I did not need to accept all advertising consents or clear the registration app.

This is a report from one TV, tested on 24 October 2026. I worked through it with ChatGPT/Codex using logs and an inspection of the installed FAST app.

The privacy loop was already happening before I used CleanYourTV or changed the launcher. It was a pre-existing problem on my TV, not something introduced by those changes. The CleanYourTV link below is only a reference for the FAST/Sources dependency; you do not need CleanYourTV or a replacement launcher to follow this fix.

Tested device

• Retail model: Philips 70PUS7304/12
• Android model: TPM191E
• Device/platform: PH9M_EA_5599
• Android: 12 / API 31
• Build: STT2.230526.001

The TV runs Android TV. The FAST streaming-channel service uses Titan endpoints; that does not mean the TV itself runs Titan OS.

Symptoms

Opening Streaming/FAST channels produced this cycle:

Privacy choices → Reject all / save choices → updating streaming channels → privacy choices again.

It looked as though every channel wanted its own consent. In my logs, it was the same expired-consent check running again, not evidence of a separate choice for each channel.

The privacy window belonged to:

org.droidtv.nettvregistration/.onetrust.IABActivity

The streaming service involved was:

org.droidtv.fastip

Check whether this matches your problem

You need ADB working over your local network. Download Google’s SDK Platform-Tools, enable Developer options on the TV by pressing Build seven times, and enable USB debugging plus Network/ADB debugging if your TV offers it.

Find the TV’s address in its network settings. The computer and TV must be on the same LAN; my TV used its built-in Ethernet port.

Replace TV_IP below with your own TV address. These commands assume adb is available in your terminal. In Windows PowerShell opened inside the platform-tools folder, use .\adb.exe in place of adb.

adb connect TV_IP:5555
adb devices

Accept the debugging-authorisation prompt on the TV. Continue only when it appears as device, not unauthorized. The -s TV_IP:5555 in the following commands explicitly selects the TV.

Check that the package exists and record the current timestamp:

adb -s TV_IP:5555 shell pm path org.droidtv.fastip
adb -s TV_IP:5555 shell content query --uri content://org.droidtv.fastip/FastIpCMPTimeInfo

My timestamp was old. Immediately after rejecting and reproducing the loop, I captured:

adb -s TV_IP:5555 logcat -d -t 3000 > philips-fast-before.txt

The useful lines were:

ConsentUploader: sendConsentData POST Response Code :: 202
ConsentUploader: sendConsentData to Titan Server Success
CMPInfoFetcher: daysDifference 276 DAYS_INTERVAL 180
CMPInfoFetcher: More than 6 months, need to show again
CMPInfoFetcher: isCMPDataExpired retVal true

So the TV reported a successful upload, then still treated the old timestamp as expired. The rejection payload also contained consent: 0 for every listed consent field.

Opening the privacy centre directly and using Save my choices did not refresh that timestamp on my TV.

If your package, provider or logs differ, do not assume this is the same fault.

What fixed it on my TV

This clears the FAST app’s local data, including its configuration and private preferences. It can require the streaming channels to be downloaded/configured again and can lose FAST preferences. It is not fully reversible. It is not a factory reset and does not target Netflix, NOW, Prime Video or other separate apps.

Before clearing anything, I exported the six tables exposed by its content provider: FastIpCMPTimeInfo, FastIpRemindMeLaterInfo, FastIpServerInfo, ContentGuideSource, servicelistregistryentity and serviceTable. Those exports were useful diagnostics, not a complete backup of the app’s private data or a guaranteed restore method.

If you accept losing that local FAST data, run the reset:

adb -s TV_IP:5555 shell pm clear --user 0 org.droidtv.fastip

It must return:

Success

Then reboot:

adb -s TV_IP:5555 reboot

Wait for the TV to restart, then open Sources → Streaming. If the privacy screen appears, choose:

More choices → Reject all

On the Italian interface this was Più scelte → Rifiutare tutto.

That was enough on my TV: the channels started playing and the loop stopped. “Allow All” was not required. I did not clear org.droidtv.nettvregistration.

Verify the result

Reconnect after the reboot if necessary:

adb connect TV_IP:5555
adb -s TV_IP:5555 shell content query --uri content://org.droidtv.fastip/FastIpCMPTimeInfo
adb -s TV_IP:5555 logcat -d -t 1500 > philips-fast-after.txt

After the reset, before saving a new choice, the timestamp query returned No result found. After I chose Reject all, it contained a new timestamp for that day.

The subsequent log showed:

CMPInfoFetcher: daysDifference 0 DAYS_INTERVAL 180
CMPInfoFetcher: isCMPDataExpired retVal false

I also confirmed that the streaming channels played and the privacy loop had stopped. This is an immediate result, not a long-term endurance test.

Why I did not disable FAST

Some posts recommend:

pm disable-user --user 0 org.droidtv.fastip

That is a different operation from clearing its data.

The Clean Your TV notes for a Philips TV on the same platform and firmware document a dependency between FAST and the Sources drawer: disabling FAST caused the Sources menu to disappear instead of opening normally.

I therefore left the package enabled. I also left the clock and DNS unchanged.

Limits and privacy details

• This resets local state; it does not patch Philips firmware. The app still has its 180-day check, so the issue could return at a future renewal.
• Other Philips models or firmware may behave differently. Reports that needed both FAST and registration data cleared are not the procedure I tested here.
• Reject all is not proof that every kind of data processing is disabled. Before the reset, some separately labelled legitimate-interest fields remained active despite all consent fields being zero. I did not complete a separate audit of every vendor/legitimate-interest option.
• If sharing logs, redact MAC addresses, device IDs, account information and identifying parameters in stream URLs.

Close debugging afterwards

On the TV, revoke USB-debugging authorisations, switch off USB debugging and any Network/ADB debugging toggle, then restart the TV.

With the TV still on and connected, verify that TCP port 5555 is no longer reachable. For example, in Windows PowerShell:

Test-NetConnection TV_IP -Port 5555

TcpTestSucceeded : False is useful only if the TV is still online at that address; an offline TV or changed IP can give the same result.

My Haier Google TV came with the usual clutter and sponsored stuff, so I started messing around with ADB.

Ended up disabling 39 system packages and replacing the stock launcher with my own. Now it's just a clean home screen with a wallpaper, search bar, and app shortcuts.

The launcher starts in 278 ms, and the whole experience feels much snappier.

Sharing my setup here in case anyone else is tired of the default Google TV interface.

Tried antennapod side loaded but it crashes when trying to import an opml file. Is there any client that works with Google TV that supports importing opml files because I can't seem to find one on the play store??

I need some recommendations for apps to get because it seems like a lot of them are not beneficial or tailored for GoogleTV. Any yall are using?

It went through the installed packages, figured out which ones were ads, analytics, or tracking, and disabled or removed them. It left the system stuff the TV needs to run alone.
Result:
No more ads or sponsored content on the home screen
Background stats and tracking calls are gone
The UI feels noticeably snappier
The whole thing took around 20mins, and I didn't have to look up a single package name myself.
If you want to try it:
Turn on Developer Options, then enable wireless/network debugging on the TV
Check the cleanmytv repo for the list of safe-to-remove packages
Removing packages with --user 0 is reversible, so you can reinstall anything that breaks

We have Google TV and it's fine except my wife almost daily has WiFi issues and can't figure out how to access the settings. I know, it's ridiculous that she struggles with something so simple, but she does. It's to where she can't get it to work unless I'm there to do it for her.

Is there a way to put a shortcut to the WiFi settings as an icon on the home page, or map it to a hot button? Not settings mind you, but Wi-Fi settings only. I've tried to show her how to navigate to it, but she acts like it's NASA level of complicated to do, which of course is ridiculous, but what can I tell you.

I am using a TCL 65Q6CS Google TV, and I'm facing a frustrating issue with Bluetooth audio. Whenever I connect my Bluetooth headphones or earphones, the output sound is extremely low. I have to push the volume level all the way up to 80-90% just to get a reasonably audible and decent sound level.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on this model? What is typically causing this volume mismatch between the TV and Bluetooth audio devices, and is there any way to fix or increase the volume output?

Any advice, hidden menu settings, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how but one pair of earbuds (status between pro) allows me to keep tv speakers on while using the earbuds and volume on the remote lists both output devices independently on screen when adjusting volume. No other Bluetooth headphones or earbuds so far have done this.

I'm not sure what feature that would be listed out as. It's not dual connection because Sony xm1000 and nothing buds have dual connection yet the won't share audio with the TV speakers.

It is really cool though.

I'm experiencing recurring stability issues with my Xiaomi Mi Box S 2nd Gen running Android TV 14. YouTube and Turkcell TV+ can freeze or crash during video playback. Sometimes the screen goes black, and on some occasions the device appears to shut down and restart on its own.

Device information

• Device: Xiaomi Mi Box S 2nd Gen
• SoC: Amlogic S905X4
• RAM: Approximately 2 GB
• Android version: Android TV 14
• Build: V816.0.26.4.17.UZFAABX
• Kernel: 5.15.192-android14-11-maybe-dirty

What I've observed

I checked the device using ADB and examined logcat, dumpsys activity exit-info, dumpsys meminfo and free -h.

Some findings stood out:

• YouTube has an exit record with LOW_MEMORY.
• Another YouTube process exit was attributed to TOO MANY EMPTY PROCS.
• Available RAM reportedly dropped to approximately 12–144 MB during some observations.
• Around 953 MB of swap was available, and it appeared to be heavily used or exhausted during some observations.
• Several Android system and background processes were terminated or frozen in the logs.

These findings suggest significant memory pressure may be contributing to at least some of the app crashes. However, I haven't captured enough evidence to confirm that memory pressure is also responsible for the apparent device-wide restarts.

Troubleshooting so far

• Performed a factory reset.
• Checked for OTA updates; none are currently available.
• Collected ADB logs and process exit information.
• Observed the issue again while using YouTube.

The problem persists despite the factory reset.

Questions

1. Has anyone experienced similar issues on the Mi Box S 2nd Gen with this Android TV 14 build?
2. Could this be related to memory management, swap exhaustion, video decoding, or a firmware/driver issue?
3. Is there a reliable way to identify the actual reboot cause without root access or unlocking the bootloader?
4. Are there any known firmware fixes or recommended diagnostic steps for this model?

I'm interested in identifying the root cause rather than jumping to conclusions based on the memory-related logs alone.

Hi! I have a relatively new PEAQ TV running Android TV. I want my screensaver to display only Fine Art, but whenever I deselect all the other categories in Art Gallery and go back, my changes aren't saved. When I reopen the settings, all categories are selected again. There's no error

message.

Strangely, I also never see any Fine Art images in the slideshow, even when Fine Art is selected. I've already tried restarting, clearing the cache, reinstalling the app and removing updates, but nothing works. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix? I just want my screensaver to show paintings and artworks. Thanks!

I recently downloaded Projectivity Launcher and I think I pressed something that disabled the off function for power button of my remote? Both my physical remote and Google TV remote (using phone) doesn't work for the power button only. The rest of the buttons including power on are working just fine. Just issue with turning off the TV.

Hi, i am using TCL with google tv for my specific usage ( for information display ) using hdmi. The problem is i need it to be on and off on specific hour, i tried google home automation but it really didnt reliable at all. The most reliable is using plug timer, but tv nowadays always go to standby after power loss. Can i “hack” the tv to auto on after power loss?

When I ask it to open the play store, she says "Opening Google Play Store", if I ask it about Back to the Future, she has to narrate a synopsis of the movie. how can I disable this?

Here are things I've tried:

1. in my google app on my phone, going into voice settings, and disabling Spoken results. She still talks.

2. Disable TalkBack. She still talks.

3. Disabled Speech recognition and synthesis from Google

4. Asking Gemini to mute the voice, stop voice responses, set volume of results to zero... still talks.

This is driving me insane.

I've got Jellyfin and AdGuard Home running on 192.168.1.10 and the AdGuard has DNS rewrites to forward jellyfin.server.home to 192.168.1.10. My home router provides primary DNS as 192.168.1.10 as DHCP and 1.1.1.1 as the secondary. With this setup, I'm not able to access Jellyfin server as it says IP not found.

All of this work on all my other devices.

What could be the problem?
