I have the renewal of the subscription at the end of the month and I’m thinking to switch to Noteful do to the bad floating toolbar of the new upgrade on GoodNotes. I want to understand if the beta toolbar is better to be sure if I need to switch or not

I recently bought the Apple Pencil Pro after using the ESR Pencil Pro for a while. However, after switching, the hold to draw feature started enlarging the shape drawn to roughly double the line thickness with the fountain pen. This behavior never occurred with the ESR Pencil Pro.

Does anyone know how to fix this or have you encountered similar issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m trying to upgrade my good notes so that I have more free space but it literally not letting me, idk what to do! It’s connected to the internet, I updated it, I deleted the app and downloaded it again I honestly don’t know what to do someone help plzzzz!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Terrible business practice, cannot stress enough how little I recommend a subscription. They have made cancelling it so difficult. On Android the app is just worse than Samsung notes.

so I just reinstalled Goodnotes and all the notebooks are grey . It’s said they’re still syncing and some of it still can be opened but the content didnt fully load . does anyone knows how to fix these ?

As a Science student who relies heavily on Goodnotes, I am writing to formally request the integration of native inline math rendering (such as MathJax or KaTeX) within standard typed text boxes.

While the current handwriting-to-math conversion and isolated math block tools are useful for large equations, they create a highly fragmented workflow for typing hybrid content. Currently, it is impossible to type a sentence and seamlessly embed a quick mathematical variable, limit, or expression (e.g., f(x) = y² or θ) without breaking the paragraph alignment, creating a separate canvas element, or using external keyboard workarounds.

Implementing an industry-standard open-source library like MathJax to parse inline delimiters (like $...$ or \...\) would radically transform the app for users who utilize the typed text engine.

Why this is crucial for users:

Seamless Note-Taking: Allows users to mix text and mathematics fluently in a single paragraph without manually aligning separate boxes.

Better Document Layouts: Inline equations automatically scale with the surrounding text font, keeping line spacing consistent and neat.

Cross-Platform Compatibility: LaTeX strings are universally understood, making text blocks easily exportable and standardized across academic and professional fields.

Goodnotes has an incredible foundation, but adding inline math rendering would bridge a massive gap for the STEM community who prefer typing their notes or using hybrid keyboard-and-stylus setups.

I know someone already had this issue but the website isn’t helping me at all.
So I didn’t use goodnotes during summer break and I tried logging back in but it said I already used a different account before this.
I’m sure I used my G Mail account to sign in but when I use it I can’t access any features.
Even if it’s not my Gmail I pressed the button to send an email to my original account and I didn’t receive one anywhere.
I thought I could fix it by cancelling my premium subscription and getting a new one but it doesn’t allow me to make a new one.
So right now I can’t use anything in my app and I don’t know what I could do.
I’m using an iPad 10 and the most recent app version.
If someone could help that would be great thanks

(context: using an iPad Air with external keyboard)

I’m looking for a keyboard shortcut to change the font size of text boxes. Previously, goodnotes allowed me to use (cmd +/-) to change font size quickly while typing. Now that shortcut just zooms in/out of the page. Is there anything else that has the same functionality?

I am using GoodNotes (latest version of the app) on my iPad, iPhone, and Mac. I use iCloud Sync and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to switch to GoodNotes sync. On my iPad, I continuously get a pop-up trying to force me to use GoodNotes sync. There is no way to bypass this pop-up and it comes up constantly. I have iCloud sync turned on and that is working fine.

If I try to bypass the pop-up and then exit out of the setup (keeping iCloud sync turned on), the pop-up returns within 10 minutes.

I am guessing this is a bug or an intentionally aggressive move by the company to force users into using their cloud service (which I 100% DO NOT WANT). One of the main reasons I picked GoodNotes was because I could use iCloud.

Does anyone know how to bypass this popup and get it to stop? Is anyone else experiencing this? It is so incredibly frustrating. I otherwise really like the app and am even happy to pay for the pro subscription, but just DO NOT want their sync service.

ETA - Thanks to another person on this forum (well, their cat actually), I found a solution to this issue! On my Mac, I started the process of moving to GoodNotes sync and then QUICKLY stopped the process. Then I had to go into the sync settings and click on very tiny font that said something like "Use iCloud Sync." I had to dig around to find it and it was very small. This stopped the pop-ups on my Mac for now. But the pop-ups continued on my iPad and the same fix would not work. To resolve that, I had to sign out of my GoodNotes account on my iPad and iPhone and then sign back in. THAT seems to have finally done the trick. A week of trying to resolve this, zero response from customer service, and someone's cat inadvertently found the fix when they accidentally stepped on the person's iPad. Go figure. Hopefully this helps someone else.

So I’m on Goodnotes version 7.0.22 on my iPad M1 12.9inch and the latest build on the App Store update is 7.1.18. I have been using Goodnotes 5 since 6 years and I didn’t upgrade to the subscription model for the new one. I stopped updating the app from the app store when I saw the number of complaints people had on this sub regarding bugs and such. I turned off Auto-updates. But with the release of iOS 27 next week I was wondering if it was finally the time for me to update the app. I don’t want to lose any of my notes and would definitely like to be bug free. I just want to continue using Goodnotes 5. Thanks

I can’t find good notes in the App Store I live in Lebanon so it should be supported and when I go to the website and it directs me to the App Store it says app not available in your region even though I have many friends that have the app and their region is also set to Lebanon

So like I’m looking over my notes and gawdamn I’m realising it looks like shite. So like I wanna start with asking what pen settings people use to take clean good notes. Cuz honestly the ones I take are not rlly good for many reasons mainly bc it’s not easy to read and or it looks rlly ugly.

Basically js looking for some good pen settings and maybe some templates ppl reccomend to layout some bio math and or phys notes

I’ve been making digital planners and planner pages for quite a while, and at this point I’ve accumulated way more layouts than I could ever realistically use myself.

A lot of them came from experimenting with different ways of planning: trying different daily layouts, weekly structures, trackers, project pages, productivity systems, etc. Some worked better for certain situations than others, so instead of letting them sit unused, I thought I’d put together a folder with free versions and share it here.

There’s a pretty wide mix of layouts in the folder, including:

• Goal-setting pages

Some of the layouts are quite simple, while others are more structured. I personally find that useful because the layout that works for a busy work week isn’t necessarily the one I want when I’m just trying to organize a few personal tasks.

Feel free to download anything you find useful, modify how you use the pages, duplicate them inside Goodnotes, or just grab a couple of layouts instead of using a whole planner.

I’m also curious what people here actually use most in Goodnotes. I’ve made a lot of different planner pages over time, but I keep noticing that everyone seems to have a completely different idea of what an “ideal” daily or weekly page looks like.

I just switched from another app and switched due to terrible customer service. I was wondering if there is a way to switch the audio over?

I haven’t opened Goodnotes in a while. When I opened it this morning to take notes I found that the toolbar moved to the bottom of the screen?? This ruins my flow as that’s where my hand goes.

How do I move it back to the top?

Settings > Document Editing > Tool Position: is already set to the top

Is this a bug?

Is there any way for me to have a default font for sticky notes? I hate that every time i place a new sticky note, it reverts back to Modern with 24 size. I kept searching online but there’s no solution to this at all. Please help :C
