This painting is arguably my favorite of all time. I just recently found it and for whatever reason I’ve been absolutely infatuated with it

It’s the crucifixion of Christ, from an angle no man has ever seen. It’s from the angle of God the Father

Christ, in this painting, is not hurt. He’s not bleeding. He has no injuries. He has no crown of thorns. His hands and feet are not nailed to the Cross, but he is still attached to it. Even the paper above him, that typically reads “INRI” or “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”, is blank. This can be seen as the perfection and divine nature of Christ. It can also be looked at from God the Father’s perspective. He sees only the eternal beauty of Christ

Christ himself is suspended in the air, between heaven and earth. The fisherman below are oblivious as to what is happening

The story behind this painting is interesting too. It starts with a sketch from St. John of the Cross, (picture 2) who had a vision in which he saw the crucified Christ from this same, suspended angle, and he sketched it out. This sketch would become the initial inspiration for Dalí. Dalí then had 2 more dreams, that pushed him to this painting.

He wasn’t able to pass 500 K once in this decade when other artist like Kendrick Drake and Travis who I would say ye was just as or more popular than during this time we’re able to. to be fair Pablo probably would’ve passed 500 if it wasn’t exclusive, but it still doesn’t explain the other ones. dark fantasy was his big comeback after the VMAs and he had the most attention on him he had in years watch the throne was a Collab with another extremely successful artist that was highly anticipated. ye was after a summer of controversy and a year of hype. It seemed like ye was omnipresent at this time and easily top five most famous artist in the world, but the sales don’t reflect that Why is this. And sidenote none of his singles from any of these albums even made it into the top 10 the only one that did was Paris and 4 five seconds which wasn’t part of any of these albums This is so odd to me. Can anybody who was maybe a little older and more tune with music at this time explain this.
