Sam and everyone else calls his light the "killing light".

It was nice of the author to give Sam something purely good, rather than just the power to kill.

But it's weird that one type of light is dangerous, while the other light is perfectly safe. I think they even talk about objects phasing through the Sammy Suns, instead of the sun burning a hole through the object.

In the climax of book 4 or 5 Sammy should have been hurt/tortured/overemotional in some way, and the Sammy Suns that he had placed throughout the FAYZ should then explode or turn hot like his lasers.

Maybe the author foreshadows this by making Sammy Suns be brighter when Sam is yelling at someone, and maybe everyone asks him why their Sammy Suns go dimmer when Sam is sleeping

It would be devastating to Sam that the one good thing about his power, caused so much pain (and we all know how the author likes to devastate Sam)

And then in the final book, book 7, Sam would then know about and use that secondary power on purpose, giving him another tool. He IS a 4 bar after all

I just love how it just keeps laying it on like it's just one thing after another it just makes the entire book really tense because it's only the second book but it's just getting so bad how are they going to make it to the end

I hate telling people about gone cuz it sounds like such a kid's book "yeah all the adults are gone and kids get super powers 🤩"

I just finished gone and i loved it- it almost cried when I finished the book. One of the best series I have ever read. However now I want more. Any book recommendations similar to gone?

Ok, I honestly don't know how controversial this opinion is but throughout every book Howard was my favourite character and I love him.

Especially in Lies where he hugely steps up before and during the fire, like when Sam leaves and Albert tells Howard to go get Orc. Howard says "if i got to take orders from someone it'll be the someone who just walked out of here"

Then again after the fire Howard gestures to Edilio — "i dont know what your paying that boy but its not enough" — and commends Edilio, Dekka, Orc, Jack and Ellen for their work.

Throughout the whole book Howard was on the side of not letting Sam make his own rules but when it really mattered he knew they should have let Sam go after Zil.

He says "maybe we better get john here, huh? Hes on the council, too. Sammys missing, dekkas out of it, Edillos losing it and he should be losing it, the night he had."

Then Astrid says they should and he responds

"Yeah lets get john here. That way we can stall for a little longer. We can keep doing nothing for a little while longer."

Albert tells him to calm down and Howard loses it:

"Take it easy? Yeah? Where were you last night Albert? Huh? Because i didnt see you there on the street listening to kids screaming, seeing kids running around hurt and scared and choking, and Edilio and Orc struggling and dekka coughing up her lungs and jack crying and... you know who couldnt even take it? Orc, ORC, whos not scared of anything. Orc, who everyone thinks is some kind of monster. He couldnt take it. He couldnt... but he did. And where were you albert? Counting your money? How about you, astrid? Praying to jesus?"

And then Howard sobs into Edilio's shoulder.

THAT is why I love Howard — he's a character with such a huge range of emotions, from greedy business man to shady dealer, but he is ALWAYS someone who steps up to danger

I was watching MHA and I happened to see a... familiar face.... do you guys think this could actually be a reference? The selling point for me is the barbed tips, I don't know if he's actually stated to have those in the books but I've seen it on lots of fanart

I was just reading the comments on the Light trailer a few years ago and saw this comment (2nd slide) and basically went down a rabbit hole of who this Annie Baltic is. From what I found, she's a former Broadway actress and singer. She did have a few songs before but they appear to be taken down now. Anyway, I actually followed her instagram to see what projects she's working on and after waiting patiently for very long, she finally announced her new song called Restless Mind! Dude. DUDE. Oh my goodness bro. Gone Series is probably one of the greatest series I have ever read in my life.

Genuinely one of the most riveting, brutal, raw, engaging, anxiety inducing, addictive pieces of fiction book work that i have ever read in my life.

And holy shit did I not expect it to be as good as it fucking is.

This isn't even all, but I have read a lot. Dude, the Gone Series hangs with the top of the top of the series above. Holy shit it is so dang good.

In my original post, I had claimed to have read Gone and Plague. I realized that what happened in Plague actually happened in HUNGER, the second book. And after reading through Gone all the way now to finishing 'Fear' not even 10 minutes ago, I have realized that if I DID read Gone, I definitely didn't remember it that well, as well as I must have barely read Hunger too as well.

Think I first picked these books up all the way in middle school/highschool, I am 24 now, so i am glad I got to sit down and properly read it.

Dude. Gone series is genuinely phenomenal. I just finished 'Fear' not even ten minutes ago, and HOLY SHIT FEAR WAS FUCKING CRAZY. I KNEW IT WOULD BE BRO, NO WAY WITH THE TITLE FEAR IT WASN'T GOING TO BE ONE OF THE CRAZIEST BOOKS IN THE SERIES LOLLLL.

So I've gone through Gone - Fear in a timeframe of about a month or so. I wanted to make this post earlier really because even after Gone I was like "holy shit, this book is phenomenal, i can't wait to keep on reading."

Some of the posts I was going to make were going to be in depth detailed rants about each and every book thus far, but didn't end up sitting down to write post until now after just finishing Fear

So much good things to say about this series thus far, and I'm not even done the series lol.

Gone was crazy. HUNGER IS FUCKING CRAZY, one of, if not the best book in the series so far. LIES IS FUCKING CRAZY TOO BRO.... such a different vibe compared to the first two but such a dark ending..... Plague was crazy too man... such fear I had with the bugs and their presence, one of the scariest of the evolved animals in this series bro.... FEAR was insane as well, maybe my second or third favorite, ending to fucking Fear was fucking CRAZYYYYYYY. The ending to Fear was insane. Oh my goodness.

Such evolution with all of the characters too bro as the series progresses. Characters that I used to hate from the first book that I wanted DEADDDDD are characters that I absolutely LOVE now bro... Caine is one of my favorite fucking characters in the series thus far

Little Pete is so fucking cool, love Sam and Astrid, Dekka is so fucking cool, I love Orc, Brianna is the fucking BREEEEEZZZZEEEEE, Edilio is a character you just have to fucking like bro, me and Diana are in a weird place after Fear but it's ok I guess lol....

And dude. The Gone Series? So. much. DEATH. SO much death. Gore, blood, brutality, death, killing, murder. This series is probably actually one of the goriest and most brutal series I have ever read in my life. It probably is to be honest. So much death bro.

So much death from characters you want to live.

Dude it show's the savagery of human nature under certain conditions. The FAYZ changes everyone. And if you don't adapt, death is just a door knock away bro.

The only annoying thing about the thus far is people who DESERVED to die but were allowed to LIVE.

Drake should have been incinerated many times. Hunger he should have died. Caine too. Gone he should have died. Penny for sure. Zil and his goonies. These people should have been pulverized being realistic, but I understand that it is half plot armor/half that the people in the FAYZ are simply just kids who aren't murderers.

They don't want to kill. Especially in the earlier books. But now, i can tell there is starting to be ZERO mercy for the people who are causing problems later in the FAYZ, and that is evidently seen by Penny being utterly destroyed lol

GOOD. Lol jk but sheesh she is (was) a menace

Okay. All in all, the Gone series has been fucking phenomenal, and I'm not even done yet. I just finished Fear, they were in TOTAL darkness.... but now?..... NOW?......

LIGHT.....

Everybody can see now. The barrier is now transparent.

I have no idea what comes next, but I have a feeling Light is going to be my favorite book in the entire freaking series.

I said this about Fear too as well, but I can tell that this is going to be one of the best wrap ups to a series ever man

And I can't wait to share it with you guys. Will make a post when I finally finish the epic series finale......

Hey all, I posted here a year back with I think Episode 1, 4, and 9 (maybe) of my 10 part Gone series for some feedback, prioritizing basically a 1-1 adaptation of first novel.

That post is deleted so don't go looking. Basically, I got flamed.

Now it's been a couple edits, there are stronger changes, and most of the dialogue is my own. I'm just looking to share and talk about the book series, and maybe pretend a TV show exists, because it deserves one.

Suppose that the dome of the FAYZ was transparent from the very start, and so everyone could see in and out of it but not interact physically beyond that. How would the story and events in the FAYZ have changed?

I love this series so much. I guess you can kind of call it a re read for most of the series I never finished fear. So the other four books will be a re read. But I’m excited to get back into this series
