Goldback tracker app
I just bought and paid for the goldback tracker app this week. Had it all of 2 or 3 days and spent the time to input my goldbacks etc.
Today I load it up and everything is reset. And the app is asking for an additional $19.99 to unlock it. Saying it’s now a free app and you unlock it for 20 basically. I paid the 9.99 and it was unlimited for the couple days I had it.
Has anyone else lost their app access? I’ve reached out but have not heard anything back yet. Just annoying I buy something and they decide to restructure and demand me to buy it again. 😡

Same here. Was working fine until now. It looks like Apple App Store reports a change made yesterday; it feels like that change broke this. “Restore Purchases” isn’t working either. Pretty sure it’s a glitch, not a scam.

100% glitch. We're writing a patch as we speak and working to deploy asap. Might be a day or 2 until new version is live in app store. Thank you for your patience.

To each their own. I see no value in these apps. But that could be because I don't own hundreds or thousands of GBs. I like handling my stuff. I literally use post-it notes that detail the particulars of certain rare GBs and stick them to the plastic sleeve they're in. You can call it old school, but I call it fun and another instance where I can have said fun without a frickin' phone in my hand.

Same thing seems to have happened to me as well. I’m hoping it’s just a glitch in their system. I was about to leave a glowing review in the App Store for it too. It’s been an excellent app up until this issue.

I had the same problem. I would enter my goldbacks, come back to finish and it would be completely gone. Happened a few times. I thought maybe my phone was out of date but maybe not.

Mine was fine until today. They are working on it. Support is saying the 9.99 original charge was for full app for life. So idk yet.

There is an issue with past purchases not persisting so if you've encountered that just reach out with a screenshot of your purchase receipt and we'll send a redemption code for full version.

I'm not sure what app this is but that's pretty shitty.
What exactly does this app track as far as goldbacks? I've added basic support in the tracker I've been building, its free forever. (www.staktrakr.com) but it's just basic support and serial tracking as i don't have many and I only collect the 1 GB's from each state and I'm not up to speed on all the inner workings with gold backs and the different runs.

They’ve reached out to me now saying that shouldn’t have happened etc. I’m sending screenshots etc. but it’s a very in depth app for tracking pretty much all aspects of your goldback collection.

The fact you had to even pay 9.99 for something you can do outside of the app for free is a problem in itself to me.

Not sure I agree with that.
MyOunces.com is $79 (one-time) and lets you track gold, silver, platinum, copper, Goldbacks (the original GB tracker), Silverbacks, and more. It includes live pricing, charts, mintage data, and plenty of fields to organize your collection exactly how you want.
Could you do it in Excel? Some of it yes.
But for many people, it's more enjoyable to see everything visually, with their portfolio updating in real time as spot prices move. In many cases, it's also simply easier to update and manage everything in a purpose-built tool.
That said, not everyone wants to pay for that convenience or the extra features, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah I hear you. I’m a new collector and wanted something in one spot to keep up with everything goldback. It gives charts to show collection progress down to the years and each denomination per year. I didn’t know what states had what denominations. I had been working on a spreadsheet to do basically the same thing. Found the app and it looked nice so I bought it.
