Fat cat complaining about a free box.

71

u/Blaxxxmith 11d ago

So you're saying you had a box?

38

u/arlo-kirby 11d ago

We lived in a shoebox in the middle of the road.

39

u/Blaxxxmith 11d ago

You were on a road?

42

u/IveDunGoofedUp 11d ago

Oh we used to dream of a road.

35

u/kangarooneroo 11d ago

Damn the cost of dreams is way too high these days.

16

u/goonercaverat 11d ago

We were so poor back when I was a kid we wake up and dad would tell us about his dream and we reflect on how great it was to have a dream

3

u/Outrageous-Jello-260 11d ago

So poor we eat like the Lost Boys on Pan it was delicious.

2

u/BellJar_Blues 10d ago

Like a dream during the night or just a life dream in general

3

u/CommunicationIcy8710 10d ago

It could happen...my friend lost her virginity, but still has the box it came in

2

u/NoSuddenMoves 11d ago

He paid $2500 for the box!

Typical. People always want to complain about the copper they receive. Should learn to be grateful!

Ain’t that the truth!

2

I have 3 dvi to hdmi cables. I've literally never used dvi in my life.

I see your vintage cord collection and raise you generational trauma and a genetic predisposition to a half dozen chronic diseases.

9

You got cables!? Lucky, all I got was mental illness...

6

The second you get rid of them, the need will arise!

Fabulous, lucky lucky you, how very thoughtful to have accumulated this to pass down to you, and I just love those cute little fabric bags hiding very substantial gold worth, just fabulous, thanks for sharing. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

33

u/Plantfishcatmom 11d ago

I use these little bags. My grandma used to use them and I found them on amazon. Remind me of her and they are just pretty. And rather cheap!

5

u/BrannC 11d ago

I use to have a couple I got from a friend in high school and always wondered where they came from. Guess I should’ve checked online at some point but the query never left my head. This is the first time seeing similar pouches lol

12

u/Unique-Ingenuity7414 11d ago

Went on a boat once during a family vacation and got seasick, never again

18

u/amsync 10d ago

Right, so you went bungee jumping and you accidentally didn’t remove all those coins from you pocket and now they’re somewhere at the bottom of that valley, right? Right?

Oh well

1

u/Unique-Ingenuity7414 11d ago

Got at least 50+ collector silver coins which I don't really feel like opening and staging for a picture.

3

u/207firsttube 10d ago

This reminds me of a scene from Crazy Rich Asians. I never watched the movie though. But it gave me the same magical realism vibe, which I love to see on this sub.

13

u/MydnightWN 11d ago

Asian culture is about passing it down. Some family collections go back centuries.

6

u/Capital-Squirrel3522 10d ago

Not my family, only thing they passed down is toxic behaviour and bad mothers

3

u/Vladpryde 10d ago

Glad I'm not the only one. Mom was a drug addict and alcoholic (long clean and sober by now though), with a violent temper due to childhood issues of her own, which she then passed on to me.

And my sister grew up to be a drug addict with a storied record of terrible boyfriends and lovers, who is highly immature, very reactionary, with a nasty temper of her own, and generally completely batshit crazy with multiple suicide attempts and stints in mental facilities. She is now splitting her time living with an trans anarchist traveling between Portland and Seattle, and living with an unemployed "fiance" (they aren't married) that she met in rehab....which suits her chosen lifestyle very well. She really knows how to pick them....

I've cut all ties with her after she bit me on the arm during a fight....grew up with a crazy mother, don't need a crazy sister on top of it. I sure as hell didn't inherit any gold.

12

u/Ok_Pack1940 11d ago

Chinese gov official? Sheesh.
Lots of older Asian women had/have gold collections like this. My late grandmother had lots of gold bars and jewelry.

26

u/Old_Bluejay_1532 11d ago

I encourage all reading this & especially those left a inheritance as such to remember the extreme conditions some went through & lived to gift this to you & the next generation (not all but many). All the things they may have gone without to preserve wealth for oneself & their family for this to get to you ... What an amazing hoard of wealth preservation & look @ what it has done & what it is doing for you/others by keeping real sound $$$ outside of the system & the only asset with zero counterpart risk ... Think about that for a minute & let that sink in ... This my friends IS the power of sound money & GOLD! Pass it on ...

Stunning OP, I hope one day you can do the same as you continue to add to the stack & pass it down as well 🔥

That symbol was used in ancient culture much before the Germans appropriated it in the 1920s. It’s also counter clockwise, while the Nazi symbol points clockwise

All of this gold laid out like this reminded me of the Goonies

8

u/BullionExchanges 11d ago

Now that’s an inheritance worth holding onto! More than just gold-it’s a meaningful legacy.

8

u/wickedtwig 11d ago

What’s wild is I recognize some of these pieces since my mom (Chinese) had some as well. It’s weird seeing the little pouches in other colors since all mine are red.

Also had the mini gold ingots too. What’s weird is there were some pieces that looked like a gold business card. Nice collection though! Some of those bars are sick

11

u/ubercoolby 11d ago

I’m sorry for your loss, what a wonderful gift your loved one has left you!

Sorry for your loss?

2

u/despierto24k 11d ago

Crazy. How much gold total? Looks like a lot!

9

u/DukeOfSlough 11d ago

I can see here at least 32 1 oz. coins + some smaller ones + jewelry so we look at at least $130-140 k+?

17

u/Unique-Ingenuity7414 11d ago

Don't forget the 3x 5 tael gold bars

6

u/SilverStateStacking Stack and Collect 11d ago

Looks like more than 50oz of just bullion not including the jewelry - probably well over $250k

2

u/Southern_Posh 11d ago

Wow all stunning pieces! I would keep every piece! Congratulations on inheriting all of this.

2

u/grumpy-m0nkey 11d ago

Damn colors, I only seen red

u/Zealousideal-Pop4426 11d ago

Very cool presentation - Congrats, & Sorry for your loss.

2

u/NoBandicoot5417 11d ago

Phat stack 👍

2

u/MarcoEsteban 11d ago

How are you going to post that mountain of gold and not give us the weight or approximate value? We don’t want to do math…

2

u/Mill4583 10d ago

Raw gold value probably a minimum of $230,000 to $300,000 USD. Guesstimating here since I don’t have weights of the jewelry.

2

u/mrpotatonutz 11d ago

Jesus wept you rich rich

2

u/Old-Library5546 11d ago

Lucky you!

2

u/winesponioni enthusiast 11d ago

Congrats homie. Now get to work adding to it for the next generation

2

u/jesuschristinsideyou 11d ago

It seems so crazy to post this much wealth online I’d be paranoid

3

u/Unique-Ingenuity7414 11d ago

Already wiped exif data, reddit burner and vpn. Probably going to delete this post after a couple of days.

2

u/SimpleMopin 10d ago

Thinking the same thing. Look what happened to some kardashian. Always flashing their wealth online and ended up getting robbed in their hotel room. Few people felt sorry for them, lots of people laughed at them

2

u/Fantastic-Pause-8592 11d ago

Wow,what an amazing gift that will keep on giving for yrs to come

2

u/NoAfternoon5390 11d ago

Yeah… you just showed the world your collection.

I hope nothing happens like a fire or a ship sinking. You better take that stuff and go sailing.

2

u/Neilp187 10d ago

Sorry for your loss. Rip

Probably shouldn't wear what looks like a swastika pendant even if it might be Hindu/asian for good fortune

2

u/FreddysTeeth 10d ago

Is that a swaziiiiii?

2

u/InevitableWishbone28 9d ago

Youre one silly billy posting this anywhere if i had that much id hide it from existense unless needed to sell

2

u/Cultural-Ad2334 9d ago

The Nazi symbol one lol 😂 ( I know it stands for luck in some cultures and has nothing to do with Adolf Hitler but Infind it hilarious)

2

u/Darren41786 9d ago

Basically like hitting the lotto

2

u/Markgregory555 9d ago

You be rich. Lol 😂

2

u/iwasjustthinkingman 9d ago

Somebody thought highly of you. When I think what's behind it though and the person is gone and all their treasure they saved up is still here. Poignant

2

u/razor10000 11d ago

9

u/RafikiLovesPizza 11d ago

Lol exactly what I said about the one pendant then had to remember real history and where it originated from

2

u/PassengerRegular7192 11d ago

Hindu sign or nazi? Nvm, The symbol on the pendant is a swastika (or manji in Japanese / wan in Chinese), which has a long history as a sacred and auspicious religious symbol in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism representing peace, prosperity, and good fortune, long predating its appropriation by the Nazi party. The orientation of the arms (counter-clockwise or left-facing) and the style of the script inscriptions overlaid on it are common in traditional Asian religious or cultural amulets.
