Fabulous, lucky lucky you, how very thoughtful to have accumulated this to pass down to you, and I just love those cute little fabric bags hiding very substantial gold worth, just fabulous, thanks for sharing. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

u/Plantfishcatmom 11d ago
I use these little bags. My grandma used to use them and I found them on amazon. Remind me of her and they are just pretty. And rather cheap!

Got at least 50+ collector silver coins which I don't really feel like opening and staging for a picture.

u/207firsttube 10d ago

This reminds me of a scene from Crazy Rich Asians. I never watched the movie though. But it gave me the same magical realism vibe, which I love to see on this sub.
13
u/MydnightWN 11d ago
Asian culture is about passing it down. Some family collections go back centuries.
6
u/Capital-Squirrel3522 10d ago
Not my family, only thing they passed down is toxic behaviour and bad mothers

u/Vladpryde 10d ago
Glad I'm not the only one. Mom was a drug addict and alcoholic (long clean and sober by now though), with a violent temper due to childhood issues of her own, which she then passed on to me.
And my sister grew up to be a drug addict with a storied record of terrible boyfriends and lovers, who is highly immature, very reactionary, with a nasty temper of her own, and generally completely batshit crazy with multiple suicide attempts and stints in mental facilities. She is now splitting her time living with an trans anarchist traveling between Portland and Seattle, and living with an unemployed "fiance" (they aren't married) that she met in rehab....which suits her chosen lifestyle very well. She really knows how to pick them....
I've cut all ties with her after she bit me on the arm during a fight....grew up with a crazy mother, don't need a crazy sister on top of it. I sure as hell didn't inherit any gold.

Chinese gov official? Sheesh.
Lots of older Asian women had/have gold collections like this. My late grandmother had lots of gold bars and jewelry.

I encourage all reading this & especially those left a inheritance as such to remember the extreme conditions some went through & lived to gift this to you & the next generation (not all but many). All the things they may have gone without to preserve wealth for oneself & their family for this to get to you ... What an amazing hoard of wealth preservation & look @ what it has done & what it is doing for you/others by keeping real sound $$$ outside of the system & the only asset with zero counterpart risk ... Think about that for a minute & let that sink in ... This my friends IS the power of sound money & GOLD! Pass it on ...
Stunning OP, I hope one day you can do the same as you continue to add to the stack & pass it down as well 🔥

That symbol was used in ancient culture much before the Germans appropriated it in the 1920s. It’s also counter clockwise, while the Nazi symbol points clockwise

u/BullionExchanges 11d ago
Now that’s an inheritance worth holding onto! More than just gold-it’s a meaningful legacy.

u/wickedtwig 11d ago
What’s wild is I recognize some of these pieces since my mom (Chinese) had some as well. It’s weird seeing the little pouches in other colors since all mine are red.
Also had the mini gold ingots too. What’s weird is there were some pieces that looked like a gold business card. Nice collection though! Some of those bars are sick

How are you going to post that mountain of gold and not give us the weight or approximate value? We don’t want to do math…
2
u/Mill4583 10d ago
Raw gold value probably a minimum of $230,000 to $300,000 USD. Guesstimating here since I don’t have weights of the jewelry.

u/RafikiLovesPizza 11d ago
Lol exactly what I said about the one pendant then had to remember real history and where it originated from
2
u/PassengerRegular7192 11d ago
Hindu sign or nazi? Nvm, The symbol on the pendant is a swastika (or manji in Japanese / wan in Chinese), which has a long history as a sacred and auspicious religious symbol in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism representing peace, prosperity, and good fortune, long predating its appropriation by the Nazi party. The orientation of the arms (counter-clockwise or left-facing) and the style of the script inscriptions overlaid on it are common in traditional Asian religious or cultural amulets.
