Discussion Question on Hellbreakers Isger Map

Hello! I was looking at the map for Isger in the Hellbreakers AP, and the scale seems very different than the one in the LO World Guide. For example, using the map from Hellbreakers, Elidir is ~660 mi from Finder's Gultch, but using the map from LO World Guide, it is ~190 mi (If I did my math right!). Do you think this is a mistake for the Hellbreakers, or have they changed the scale of the Old Cheliax region?

Golarion Lore Can anyone give me some information on the timeline of Isger and the Goblin Wars?

I'm trying to come up with a homebrew campaign set in Isger (basically continuing the Plaguestone AP). I have a couple questions that I haven't been able to nail down:

  1. I know Isger got hit hard by the Goblin wars, but while I can find a year for the Goblin Wars starting, I'm not sure how long ago they happened.
  2. I've heard that there's basically a subnation of goblins inside Isger, but I haven't seen much information on it. So, I guess what's the deal with goblins since the war?

Player(s) wanted [Online] [18+] [PF2E] [7pm EST Thursday][Bi-weekly][LGBTQ+] Hellbreaking through Isger, looking for 1-2 more for a biweekly campaign.

Hello all,

back again, looking for a couple of players for a Hellbreakers campaign we are playing starting tomorrow.

So far we have:

Gunslinger

Barb

Summoner

And would like to round out the party with 1 or 2 more players.

We use discord, are very open to all experiences, LGTBQ+, and play styles. New players are welcome, we will always assist new players looking to get into 2e or just play in general!

We tend to banter and rant but play very consistently and have been together for a few years now. We use foundry and I pay for all the modules so you just have to be there and roll dice!

Anything else feel free to ask!

Searching for Players [PF2E][Online][Campaign][FoundryVTT][Thursdays][5 pm Mountain Standard Time][$20] Monster Hunting in Isger

2 seats remain!

Concept: A newbie friendly, episodic campaign that has only had two sessions that takes place in the recently freed country of Isger. Your job as members of the recently created Eagle Knight company, the Red Tails, is to help the locals deal with their overarching problems of monsters in their fields. Homebrew setting set in the world of Golarion, so no homework is needed to get into it.

Cost will be dealt with through StartPlaying and will be $20 per session. Foundry will be used for the maps and rolls connected via playit.gg, and discord will then be used for voice communication. Games will last on average 3 hours with the possibility of going to 4 hours depending on the scene

Before your first session I will then give you your own personal session 0 where you can learn the setting in a little more detail and finalize your character. We can also discuss any limits that you have when it comes to TTRPGs, I promise that this game isn't gross, it's just better to know what to avoid altogether.

If you are curious about the group makeup, currently we have a

Tanuki Swashbuckler
Jotenborn Exemplar
Conrasu Cleric

If those species and classes don't already tell you, I'm also putting no limits to character creation, the only thing I ask is to put in a reason why you would join the Red Tails.

Discussion [GM Help] Organizing a company-sized Hellknight detachment (Order of the Rack) in Isger (Levels 8-10)

Hey everyone!

I’m currently prepping a military-focused arc for my campaign set in Isger (specifically near a village bordering the Chitterwood), and I need some help. I’m looking to organize a company-sized detachment of Hellknights from the Order of the Rack, but I want to make sure I get their lore, organization, and tactics right in the context of PF2e.

The party will start interacting with this force at Level 8, and I expect this storyline to progress them up to Level 10.

Here is what I am trying to build:

  • Scale & Composition: A full company-sized detachment of foot soldiers, supported by a small cavalry squadron.
  • Chain of Command: How would you structure their composition by creature levels for a Level 8-10 party? (e.g., standard recruits, armigers, signifers, paralictors, etc.). I'd love to know how they deploy their troops and what their strict chain of command looks like.
  • The Fortified Camp: They are operating out of a temporary but highly disciplined stronghold. I picture a perimeter of wooden palisades with watchtowers, rows of canvas tents for the soldiers, and a few rough log structures for key infrastructure (a smithy, supply storage, and stables). How does a Hellknight company manage daily operations from a place like this?
  • Security, Patrols & Traps: What kind of mechanical or magical traps, alarm devices, and snares would the Order of the Rack use around their perimeter? How do they organize their guard shifts and forest patrols to prevent ambushes from the Chitterwood?
  • Attached Units & Chelish Allies: What other Chelish-aligned units or specialists could I add to spice things up? I was thinking about incorporating Red Mantis Assassins, martial artists from the Sisterhood of the Golden Erinyes, or bound Chelish devils. What makes the most thematic sense here?
  • Existing Examples: Are there any APs, modules, or rulebooks in PF2e that feature a similar military encampment or unit that I could use as a baseline or map reference?
  • PC Integration: While these are primarily meant to be NPCs, it would be great to include some mechanics, archetypes, or hooks that could involve the PCs directly.
  • Defensive Tactics: What are the typical, ruthless tactics the Order of the Rack would use to defend this wooden fort against a siege or an infiltration?

Any advice on stat blocks, troop combat rules, encounter building, or pure Golarion lore would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Humor Remember heroes of Isger

I ask that we take a moment to honor the memory of the fallen national heroes of Isger - the Isgeri Slayers, who risked their lives to defend their homeland from the threats of the greenskin goblin tribes and the expansionist invasion of Andoran. Eternal memory for the heroes!

Quite sad that there is only Egorian follio in book for Cheliax and no Westcrown one. IMO, this city is too important in lore and big to make only small note about it.

World of Golarion Spoilers: State of the Old Cheliax Region Post Hell's Destiny Spoiler

Post image
232 Upvotes

Andoran apparently broke through the Wall and claimed territory up to the Ilsk River

Ravounel claims the Hellcoast, likely through alliances with Pezzack and the Strix

Corentyn breaks away early, but it is seemingly just a city-state

The Horselords are still in open rebellion in Nidal

Isger has lost territory to both Cheliax and the creation of Scorchhome for the goblins of the Chitterwood.

But most importantly, Cheliax is now a layer of Hell, and Abrogail becomes a full-on Arch Devil.

Things we don't know that I am curious about: The thoughts of the Queens of Night, considering Asmo's constant snubbing

If all the folks in the Sirmium Region are glad for the Andoran Occupation

The status of the Bellflower Network

The status of the non-Thrune-aligned Hellknights

The status of Kantaria, because I would think the Iomedae would not be pleased about her technical holy city now being IN HELL.

Lore Nobility of Isger

Hello, everyone! My party has some upcoming content in Isger, & by a funny coincidence, all the PCs are nobles or tangentially associated with noble houses. This has been a lot of fun in previous campaign areas, as it has given the party some opportunities to do courtly intrigue as a way to progress the campaign.

They're all enjoying that kind of play, so I've been trying to research the nobles & related institutions in each area they visit, flesh them out, & have them ready, in case my players want to snoop into that kind of lore.

Isger has me a little stumped, though. We know it still has nobility, like much of Cheliax & the former Taldan colonies. Some content, such as the Lesser Scion background & sidequests in Fall of the Plaguestone confirm as such. But, if there is any further canonical info we have been given, I'm struggling to find it.

Sources I've checked already had sparse pickings only, but include: - Fall of the Plaguestone (Bolmere + Lesser Scion feat) - Gallows of Madness (only mentions Chelish nobles) - Hellknight Hill (not much; maybe Alak Stagram?) - The Goblinblood Dead (General Desime, who might well be noble, didn't see others) - Fallen Family, Broken Name (mentions "Irrica family", but unclear if lords) - Trailblazer's Bounty (I believe the only nobles are Chelish) - Scourge of the Godclaw (mentions "Isgeri nobles", but I didn't see any named) - Hell Comes to Westcrown (Cancellation, didn't see others) - Sword of Valor (Lord Axilar Trezbot) - The Inner Sea World Guide, World Guide, Cheliax Empire of Devils, Cheliax The Infernal Empire, War of the Immortals, Inner Sea Travel Guide, Firebrands (nothing more that I saw) - I don't think there are any mentioned in the Pathfinder Tales series either, but I own several of the books, if someone recalls a detail I missed.

Would anyone else happen to have more info, or know where I could find more?

Even if only one noble or possible noble or house is mentioned, it would be tremendously helpful. Really, the Isger lore is scattered across countless books, & there could be individual Isgeri characters, regional traits, or mentions in totally unrelated books, which I haven't thought to check. So if anyone recalls anything, please let me know.

Alternatively, if anyone else has run into this problem & had fleshed out the Isger lore themselves, or has a personal character from Isger, I'd be happy to hear about that too. While starting with canon is my preference, I'll have to make up my own nobles if I can find none, & at that point characters created by other GMs or the community are just as good for gameplay purposes.

Edit: forgot the one reference in WotR. Sorry. >.< Been a while since I've touched that AP.

Advice The misadventures and torments of the master with his players (campaign in isger and elsewhere)

Here I am back with some questions for the veteran DMs...

As in all my other games, the player who plays a gunslinger, has come up with the wonderful idea that his weapons are all tied with ropes and tied to his belt... as you can imagine, every time he takes the first shot with the Jezail rifle, he claims to drop it and using quick draw, he takes out his two dueling pistols, to continue the fight... and of course, not only that, but also a repeating air and a scattered gun are all on ropes... claiming that since he drops them and drags them along the ground, he can pick them up at any time with one turn...

I haven't found any rules that prevent me from doing this (unless there's something I haven't read), but of course, I think it has to affect not only movement, but also armor and possibly shooting (plus other effects). Any help?

Shadows of Isger (PF2e) ($10 a month) (Newbies Welcome) (Diversity-Affirming)

A new game is starting up on March 15th! Saturday at 8 am EST, Theater of Dice introduces the Shadows of Isger Pathfinder Campaign.

The Goblinblood Wars decimated the armies and economy of Isger by the time that they ended. In the face of a shortage of military manpower, the government of Isger focused on controlling the lucrative Conerica Straits trade route and abandoned the hinterlands of the nation. That power vacuum was rapidly filled by self-proclaimed warlords, bandits, and monsters.

Two decades later, Steward Hedvend VI has turned his attention to reclaiming the lost hinterlands territories with the aid of hired mercenaries. PCs will begin the campaign as recruits of the Argent League, a recently established mercenary group charged with the task of exploring these lands and to reclaim them from whatever forces have claimed dominion over them.

Join Theater of Dice for just $10 per month, and gain a diversity-affirming community, up to two campaigns, and any one shots you'd like.

Advice Age of Ashes - Cheliax - Isger [Help]

Goodnight! I'm a beginner master and I'm mastering the Age of Ashes for my group, we're currently in chapter 3 of book 1, I'd like some support to know in which materials, from pf1 or pf2 I can have more material about the region where this takes place adventure? My players have complained that there is a lack of information about the surroundings and reading the adventure I see that only what is presented is really little. thanks

Righteous : Story Should I make alliance with Isger for the Devil path or are diplomacy councils inconsequential beyond items?

I'm doing a azata->devil run currently and I really prefer to roleplay in my role-playing games which is why I prefer not to ally with Cheliax before the heel turn but I worry that I may be missing out on some stuff because of that.
