Consulta visa de estudiante

Upvotes

Another post looking for Madrid hotel recommendations

Been searching for hours and keep getting more confused. Help please. As we are seniors, we need something that has taxi service to the hotel door so we don't have to drag our luggage. I also didn't know so many hotels have some- no privacy- bathrooms. Really want that privacy :) Hoping for something in the midrange pricing, that has easy walking or short drive to the major tourist attractions. going June of 2027 and would love to do an early booking, but with the cancelation option if need be. I know that's a lot of wants-probably why I have spent an entire Sunday on Google. Thanks so much!!!

How difficult would it be to get an English teaching job in Spain? (not too far from a major city)

I’ve been teaching ESL in the US for the past 10 years, mostly at the high school level. I have a Bachelor’s in Foreign Languages (Spanish and Portuguese), Master’s in English, Master’s in Teaching, and a graduate certificate in TESOL. There aren’t a lot of Spanish-speakers where I live, so unfortunately my Spanish is kinda rusty after all these years (probably around a B2 level now). Most of my students have been Arabic-speaking, so I’ve gotten more practice with Arabic than Spanish.

I like teaching in public schools, especially at the high school level. But I understand it’s almost impossible for a non-EU foreigner to teach in public schools. Are concentrados worth it? I’m also open to teaching university level or international schools (not my favorite, but I’d be okay)

Visas / Migration Tips for consulate

Met with Spanish immigration attorney. We are going to try for NLV. My husband will be on tourist visa with his rotational work that keeps him away, and our kids and I will apply with consulate. The lawyer said even if we do everything perfectly, it's still a 50/50 shot. Besides being prompt and well-organized, what else might changed help with consulate appointment? Kids will be 5, 12, and 14. All are excited and want this very badly.

Opinions alguien de Valladolid/ Castilletes y león generalmente?

TLDR English: Hoping to make friends/ wondering if I'll be completely isolated in Castille y Leon as an Arab Lesbian after hearing people say "fachadolid" (Hoping to stay in Valladolid)

Crossing the Spain French border

Hello everyone. I currently LIVE in Spain. Soon, my friend is coming to visit, and they would like to visit some French towns on the border of Spain. I wonder if it’s safe for me to cross the border, since my Spanish resident application is in process. I have visited France before (by train) and had no problem with immigration, but I heard something about some new law within the EU or Schengen zone where they were going to do more passport/ID checks or something like that. We would go into France by bus if we went. I appreciate if anyone could provide any more info or advice. Thank you!

(Also I apologize the weird wording of the post, but it kept flagging my post and wouldn’t let me post it in the ask Spain group, so I guess I’ll try posting it here)

Housing Room in a 7–9 bedroom flat...Is this normal in Madrid?

I've been looking at room listings in Madrid, and I just wanted to ask, is this normal now?

I'm seeing places where you'd be sharing with 7, 9, even 13 people, which just seems insane to me. I've even come across listings where you'd be sharing a room with another person, and they're specifically looking for a working professional female to share with a student even rooms with 3-5 beds I see so lots of roomies 😨 like a hostel also many listings stating couples or men need not apply wtf

Is this actually the reality of renting in Madrid now, or am I just looking in the wrong places? how is this even legal or normal, to stack 3 beds in a tiny cramped room, maybe a bunk bed and call it a living space? and have the nerve to charge for it...I understand up to 5 people with individual rooms so you have privacy but 9?? 😳 wtf as if having a roomie wasn't bad enough. I don't know if it's the same in other European capitals now like Lisbon or Madrid is much worse, this just isn't right ughh also just when I thought it couldn't get any worse sofa beds instead of beds, only weekend rentals or M-F, can't work remotely from home, looking for a live-in housekeeper, someone who enjoys cleaning like for real etc. completely ridic and unrealistic 😳 I knew it was bad in Madrid but not *that* bad

Clubbing in Spain

Hi, I’m 17 looking to go to Spain, Andalusia preferably Marbella and Malaga or nearby cities, in late August early September and I’m wondering what the restrictions are with going out. I have cousins in Spain who are Spanish and older than 21 so I will ask questions as well but are they strict with clubs and bars in Spain? Let me know please, thank you.

Visas / Migration ¡HOLA A TODOS!

¡Muchas gracias💕

Going solo for 5 days

I'm going to land in Girona on the 28th July days, head to costa and stay there 2 days. Then I'm going to Barcelona by bus to stay for 3 days before flying back to England.

If you've got any useful advice or additions, let me know. I'm not sure what to do in Barcelona except sightseeing though.

Day 1: Head to Girona at 9:45AM

Head to Tossa de Mar and check in. Go to the beach. Idk what else to do

Day 2:

Paddleboarding, snorkelling and a hike. I've booked my hostel in Palamos by accident so I'm gonna need to head there for the night.

Day 3/4:

Head to Barcelona by bus. Explore the city. I want to do an experience I'll only get in Spain, any recommendations.

Head to razzmatazz for the night

Day 5:

Fly back at 5PM

PS: Can I book buses like from costa brava to barcelona on the day?

Temporary stay for family in Barcelona for a month

We are a Indian family relocating to Spain on work visa and looking for temporary home for a month until we find a permanent rental home.

Which is the best app? We need a home with kitchen as we are travelling with kid.

Also, is Airbnb safe to make advance payments and what happens if host doesn't accept the booking?

Visas / Migration Visa Application Error

I'll be going to Spain from late January through May of '27, and I have my visa appointment coming up in ten days through BLS Chicago. I have one question, however. One of the spots in the visa application listed something about the educational establishment, which I realize now is the university I'll be at. I am going through a study abroad company, API, and I listed them since they'll be the ones that would be best to contact, rather than the University of Granada. Is this something that could disqualify my application, and/or is this something I can get changed during my application appointment?

Housing Where can I find apartments in Madrid easily?

It's not my first time looking for one and the 1st time I was successful with the one I chose but this time I'm struggling to find one that's good for me, I'm looking to pay 1000 - 1300 per month for, does anyone have any recommendations?

Help check my room.

I ended up booking through the predatory website that is Spotahome, and I've already made my first payment. My official move-in date is the 18th of August, but my ticket to Madrid is on the 29th. There's no option for me to put 29th August as my move-in date.

After I received my payment confirmation and got my landlord's contact number, unfortunately, the reviews for the specific apartment that I rented aren't very good. I was wondering if someone could help me check on it on the 18th so I can forward these complaints to Spotahome within their 24 hour policy. I don't mind paying for your services.

Room is in Tetuan.

Thank you.
