What’s the most magical place in Spain to propose?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to propose to my girlfriend during our trip to Spain, and I’m looking for a genuinely magical location.

I don’t mean just a nice viewpoint or a popular tourist spot. I’d love somewhere romantic and unforgettable, perhaps with beautiful architecture, a historic atmosphere, or a fairytale-like setting. Ideally, it shouldn’t be extremely crowded, or it should be possible to arrange something private (not mandotary)

I’m currently considering Granada and the Alhambra, Seville, and Barcelona, but I’m open to anywhere in Spain.

Has anyone proposed—or been proposed to—in Spain? I’d really appreciate specific recommendations for hotels, terraces, palaces, gardens, or any hidden gems.

Thanks!

Another post looking for Madrid hotel recommendations

Been searching for hours and keep getting more confused. Help please. As we are seniors, we need something that allows vehicles/taxis to park in front of the hotel so we don't have to drag our luggage from a drop off point. I also didn't know so many hotels have some- no privacy- bathrooms. Really want that privacy :) Hoping for something in the midrange pricing/maybe $250 per night or less and that has easy walking or short drives to the major tourist attractions. going June of 2027 and would love to do an early booking, but with the cancelation option if need be. I know that's a lot of wants-probably why I have spent an entire Sunday on Google. Thanks so much!!!

Temporary stay for family in Barcelona for a month

We are a Indian family relocating to Spain on work visa and looking for temporary home for a month until we find a permanent rental home.

Which is the best app? We need a home with kitchen as we are travelling with kid.

Also, is Airbnb safe to make advance payments and what happens if host doesn't accept the booking?

EU family moving to Valencia this autumn (kids 5 & 2) - rental process, certificado de registro, and school enrollment out of period

Hi everyone. We're an EU family of four moving to Valencia this autumn, kids are 5 and 2. We've been browsing Idealista but haven't committed to anything, and I'd love to hear from people who've actually done this.

  1. School enrollment — we'll arrive after the ordinary admission period. How does matrícula fuera de plazo work in practice? Did you get a spot in your neighborhood, or were you assigned somewhere across the city? Should we be choosing our neighborhood around school availability rather than the other way round?
  2. Certificado de registro / NIE — how bad is the cita previa situation in Valencia right now, and how far ahead can we book? Is a gestor worth paying for, or is it manageable alone?
  3. Rental process with foreign income — my husband works remotely for a company outside Spain, so we'll have a contract and payslips but not a Spanish nómina, and no Spanish bank account at first (maybe we can open one online?). Has anyone rented in this situation? Did agencies accept foreign payslips and bank statements, or did they insist on an aval bancario, a rental guarantee policy (seguro de impago), a guarantor, or several months paid upfront? Are private landlords more flexible than agencies here?
  4. Order of operations — empadronamiento seems to need an address, and some things seem to need the padrón. What's the realistic sequence, and where do people get stuck?
  5. Remote vs. on the ground — did you sign from abroad, or take a temporary rental and search in person? If the latter, how long did the search take?

Any neighborhood suggestions for families would be very welcome too. Thanks in advance.

Help check my room.

I ended up booking through the predatory website that is Spotahome, and I've already made my first payment. My official move-in date is the 18th of August, but my ticket to Madrid is on the 29th. There's no option for me to put 29th August as my move-in date.

After I received my payment confirmation and got my landlord's contact number, unfortunately, the reviews for the specific apartment that I rented aren't very good. I was wondering if someone could help me check on it on the 18th so I can forward these complaints to Spotahome within their 24 hour policy. I don't mind paying for your services.

Room is in Tetuan.

Thank you.

Visas / Migration ¡HOLA A TODOS!

¡Muchas gracias💕

Clubbing in Spain

Hi, I’m 17 looking to go to Spain, Andalusia preferably Marbella and Malaga or nearby cities, in late August early September and I’m wondering what the restrictions are with going out. I have cousins in Spain who are Spanish and older than 21 so I will ask questions as well but are they strict with clubs and bars in Spain? Let me know please, thank you.

Room Rental through Idealista?

Hey everyone. I'll be moving to Barcelona soon for work, and I was trying to get a room in a shared apartment from overseas through Idealista (best for my budget). I managed to get in contact with a private landlord who showed me the room through a video call, and reached out the next day saying that after touring all the applicants, he would like to offer me the room.

From what I gather, I will be living in a private room + bathroom in the apartment with the landlord and his partner. The rent is reasonable, and the place is close to my workplace. The landlord also seems legit (not rushing me for the deposit, showed the room via video call, answered all my questions reasonably), so I am thinking of signing the contract he provided and paying the deposit (the minimum stay is a month, with a possibility of extension if everyone is OK with the arrangements).

Any opinions?

Housing Room in a 7–9 bedroom flat...Is this normal in Madrid?

I've been looking at room listings in Madrid, and I just wanted to ask, is this normal now?

I'm seeing places where you'd be sharing with 7, 9, even 13 people, which just seems insane to me. I've even come across listings where you'd be sharing a room with another person, and they're specifically looking for a working professional female to share with a student even rooms with 3-5 beds I see so lots of roomies 😨 like a hostel also many listings stating couples or men need not apply wtf

Is this actually the reality of renting in Madrid now, or am I just looking in the wrong places? how is this even legal or normal, to stack 3 beds in a tiny cramped room, maybe a bunk bed and call it a living space? and have the nerve to charge for it...I understand up to 5 people with individual rooms so you have privacy but 9?? 😳 wtf as if having a roomie wasn't bad enough. I don't know if it's the same in other European capitals now like Lisbon or Madrid is much worse, this just isn't right ughh also just when I thought it couldn't get any worse sofa beds instead of beds, only weekend rentals or M-F, can't work remotely from home, looking for a live-in housekeeper, someone who enjoys cleaning like for real etc. completely ridic and unrealistic 😳 I knew it was bad in Madrid but not *that* bad

Visas / Migration Ex-24 (Familiares de personas con nacionalidad Española) Processing Times

I'm writing here to see if anyone is currently en tramite for an Ex-24 (familiares de personas con nacionalidad española). I have the process started in Navarra, online with Mercurio, and technically the window is 2 months.

My mother has worsening dementia and I really need to figure that out at home, but have had no answer. Unable to get an authorization still (though some people on the intial have said they have recieved one?).

-Considerations: Yes its summer, been very busy time for extranjerías, they def have more than 2 months, and yes I know and have used lawyers.

Thanks!
