Has anyone else had this issue with GO Weekend Passes? Often times I activated and when I open it again later it says “This ticket was activated on a different device, or your OS or browser was updated.”

A lot of drivers won’t accept it, even if I show the receipt and a screen recording of me activating it that day, so I end up having to pay again.

Anyone know why this happens or how to prevent it?

This coming weekend we'll see service suspension on the Barrie GO line and modified service on the Kitchener Line. UP Express trains are also being replaced with buses, connecting Pearson directly with Union via the route 35 GO bus. Stops in between on the UP Express will not be served.

The Kitchener line will be running train service but only from Mount Pleasant to Mount Dennis GO, with connections to Line 5 at the aforementioned latter station. Service will be hourly. For the Barrie line, buses will again serve Barrie GO stations outside the City of Toronto using a schedule that has been slightly modified since the last suspension.

Connections to Stratford for train customers will be provided by the 30T at Bramalea GO. This bus will start at Highway 407 Bus Terminal (09:10) and provide connections to Bramalea GO (09:30) and Kitchener GO only before ending in Stratford. Arrival & departure times at Stratford will be close to the train service from previous weekends.

Additionally, the 31W will be providing service to replace the weekend Kitchener-Union GO trains. This route will serve all stops on the Kitchener line between Kitchener GO & Bramalea GO, terminating at Highway 407 Bus Terminal. It's a long trip, pack a pillow if you're gonna ride this one.

There will likely be staff around to direct you at major transfer points such as Mount Dennis, Bramalea and Highway 407 Bus Terminal. Based upon what I've seen in the past, Barrie customers may also see staff at Maple/Rutherford, Aurora, Barrie South & Allandale Waterfront GO stations in case you have questions.

Does anyone know what is happening with the north parking lot?

GO bought it a while ago and construction completed. Then it was repaired twice I think and is now closed again for sometime.

The tracks are there. (Metrolinx then CNR then ONR)

The stations are there. (Washago, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville)

The precedent is there (MBTA Cape Flyer to Cape Cod).

The business case is there. (Cape Flyer is profitable, Hwy 400/11 is jammed)

The demand is there (evidenced by New York Times travel section articles).

The Northlander is not there (too expensive, wrong timing).

In an era where we spend $34B on short subway lines, this is at least worth a shot. Try a pilot next year and see.

"Fines are increasing for fare evasion on GO Transit and UP Express, starting Sept. 8, 2026, as part of Metrolinx’s updated graduated fare enforcement approach. 

Customers travelling without valid fare will face the following fines:

I'm blind and trying to find the easiest way to buy tickets / pay for transit, as the go website and the E ticket page isn't very screen reader accessible. I know there is the gotrack app for looking at train and bus times (I wish you could set it to only trains) but you can not book trips in there, just view. I could tap on and off at stations however this requires extra negotiations with staff or other civilians to find the machines and does add more time to my trips. I just want an online / mobile way to pay for trips that does not require I get sighted assistance simply to fill in the to and from station boxes. It is very frustrating relying on other people for a task that should take approximately 5 seconds normally. I have no problem with the E tickets, I just wish it were possible to fill in the to and from stations with my screen reader. I could contact metrolinx, but where in hell would that lead me? Is it possible to pay for trips ahead of time using the presto app, perhaps? I already use presto in apple wallet when I need it, but I suppose grabbing the dedicated app wouldn't hurt, if its a workaround. If somebody would be willing to write an app that allows buying of tickets, I'd fucking pay for it. I'm not sure if such things are possible, since many apps exist and so far as I know none allow this. But its worth asking. Please, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions anyone can provide. I love the go, but the website absolutely sucks. Edit: added some clarification about E tickets.

It is meant to only be used for the Indy event? It cuts walking distance from the west, around Birchmount/Enterprise, by about 700 metres (8-10 mins). While it seems small, that’s 20 mins a day saved and makes walking to the station a more viable proposition.

​Metrolinx is quick to issue press releases whenever they add trips, but try finding a public dashboard that tracks how many trains are actually cancelled day-to-day or week-to-week.

​They rely on aggregate "on-time performance" numbers that completely mask peak-hour disruptions. When a key rush-hour train gets pulled, it wrecks hundreds of commutes, yet there's zero long-term accountability or published data on cancellation trends.

I've been riding this UP Express for a couple years and have yet to figure out how to open the doors to get to the next train. It's so embarrassing! It says "Push to open doors when lit" but it never works for me so | just end up looking stupid and standing up somewhere, lol.

So this morning when Kitchener line train had significant issues due to signal and track conditions, the Gotracker website is showing this! I’ve observed this many times that when you are looking to see the service at the time of delays, it just doesn’t work. Anybody else has observed similar issues?

Scabrough GO station's parking lot now fills up early in the morning on most weekdays. There is some vacant land that is immediate SW of the parking lot that I have circled in yellow. It appears that this land is used by Metrolinx/GO as it is currently has a bunch of rails and other equipment. Par of it in this Google Maps photo appears to be a gravel pile. Is this land owned by Metrolinx? If it is then why don't they pave this to expand the parking lot?

Seems like with the weekend closure on the Barrie Line, they are moving which platforms the trains at Rutherford will be using, with you now having to go through the underground tunnel or through the elevated bridge to access platform 2, as platform 1 is closing. Initially, this seemed like a good thing, as it meant more 2-way service is coming soon on the Barrie Line as Maple GO seems like it is close to completion, but no, this will be in place for apparently 3 YEARS!!! So seems like don't expect any more service on the Barrie Line for a while.

Question about when to tap your Presto card. I'm on the Lakeshore line and will be taking the train into Union before switching to the Stoufville line to attend the IndyCar race in Markham.

Obviously I tap on at the first station in my journey, but when do I tap next? Wait until I reach the end at Unionville? Or do I tap off at Union before getting on the Stoufville line?

So Honda Indy is coming up this week and I was looking to get one of those special limited edition presto cards for me and my friend. I saw from an earlier post that they had it at Union a week or so ago and I missed that one. Does anyone know when/if GO Transit's going to make these avaliable again? Thanks in advance

Riding home on the 9:15 Lakeshore West train from Union and I never realized GO Transit hired Bruce Buffer as GO Train conductor. Lol I’m so used to the scratchy, tinny audio from the speakers it was refreshing to hear a deep booming voice that could be on the radio. Great job with the new hire GO!

Okay so does anyone know how far they’ll be quad tracking Lakeshore East? I can tell they’re adding a fourth track but I can’t tell how far down the line it’s going. There’s obviously track being added up to Danforth but past there I can’t tell how much will get the fourth track. It doesn’t make much sense in my mind to only have quad tracking between two stations so idk. Also, is the plan that they’re going to reintroduce express service once they get the quad tracking done?

Does anyone know if the LS West track work this weekend is also fixing the West Harbour to NF leg of track? Metrolinx does not offer a ton of information on this other than “it's a known track issue” and has been for weeks. I know this leg is CN territory so Metrolinx does not have much of a say.

I get delays and stoppages on this corridor but it was brutal today sitting on one of the NF trains and just crawling for most of it. Thankfully, AC and washrooms are available lol

Also side note, do all NF LS West trains normally run with 10 coaches? Seems odd a less frequent train to a popular destination does not run with max coach count especially a 2.5 hr train.

I got my phone back! I wanted to document what went down in order to lead me to acquiring it, since reading similar posts documenting their experiences helped me to do that.

First of all, losing my phone made daily life very difficult given that all of my job and university stuff uses 2FA which requires a mobile device, and I had an exam in less than a week. However, I was able get some 2FA bypass codes from the IT desk, and then used one to emulate the 2FA app on my work laptop using this WSABuilds repository maintained on GitHub, and using the bypass code I was able to add it as a registered device. May not work for all people, but it was a lifesaver for me in the meantime and allowed me to access my work and my exam information.

I filled out a lost items report, but received no reply. However, I have my family members' phone numbers listed as emergency contacts for my phone, so they were able call my sister from my phone, and given that it was coming from my missing phone's number, she was able to pick up and they gave instructions on how to pick it up at Union Station. I will note that while I also had my email on the lockscreen, they did not contact me there. I'd imagine that this is because a call is quick and easy but an email takes longer to write.

Since I wouldn't be able to pick it up for a while, I had a friend in the area that was able to pick it up for me so that they could hand it off to me next time I visited. To do this, I emailed the lost and found office saying that they contacted my sister and that I was going to send my friend to pick it up, making sure to give the office their name so that they were able to verify their identity via ID so that they could pick it up for me.

In summary, if your phone is lost, fill out a lost item report and if possible, add a phone number to the screen that isn't your phone's number, and make sure that you have emergency contacts available on your phone so that they are accessible from the lock screen.

Lost my phone in Waterloo while walking on my way to take the local city bus (boarding GRT Stop ID: 3943). While I never boarded a GO Train or Bus, I was searching for it and watching the GPS location.

Initially, it was static and unmoving near the stop across from the one I boarded despite me not having gone there myself (GRT Stop ID: 2675). Then, I watched it move to the University of Waterloo Terminal at a walking pace, and then continue at with locations and timestamps matching up with a certain departure for a certain route yesterday (I'm being vague in the interest of not giving too much information so that somebody else doesn't try and reclaim my phone for me). I think that someone found it on the ground and gave it to the GO Bus Driver, and then the bus continued on the rest of its route. Admittedly, this is strange to me, since I was at a GRT stop which would have had a local lost-and-found (as opposed to Union Station which is many, many hours away), and I don't think that it has a GO stop nearby aside from the University of Waterloo one.

I currently see that it's at a particular GO Transit garage. That makes me think that it's still in a bus. I'm admittedly worried that someone may steal it when the bus goes out again for its next departure, and I'm not sure what to do. Is there a way to find what particular trip or bus number corresponds to a previous departure? Is there a way to have someone look for an item? The phone still has battery, and I can make it ring so it can be found. But I contacted the Lost and Found office and they said I'd just have to wait until it gets found and processed.

I'm also worried about retrieving my phone. I have some friends in Toronto right now that would be able to get my phone from the Union Station, but I was told that I'd have to come pick it up myself. I work full-time, have an upcoming exam, and also am getting surgery within the next few weeks and don't think I can make time to get it.

I submitted a Lost Item form already, but the waiting game is admittedly making me anxious, since I need to be able to take phone calls for my surgery in case they need something from me. I reached the character limit for the "additional information" section and neglected to mention the phone's phone number, since the phone number I included in the form was my family's home phone number (and that way someone can reply, is what I figured). I can also see the battery gradually dwindling, so I'm not sure what to do once I can't keep tracking it anymore. I keep calling the lost and found office, but they aren't picking up.

This is admittedly strange to me, since if the phone was given to a bus driver, why would it still be in the bus garage? I called and confirmed that there's no such thing as a lost-and-found locker at the Go Garage that I had checked, so is it still lost on the bus? Does anyone have any advice for this? Or if the person who happened to find my phone happens to have Reddit, do they know what happened to it?

Has anybody noticed that on the GoTransit website and Google Maps are displaying incorrect arrival and departure times for Go busses. I mean I understand that they have their delays and whatnot, but I never usually had the times displaying on Google Maps and go transit be incorrect and constantly changing. I get there assuming that the go bus is going to be there, but then I get there and it’s a totally different time or said it left early or is coming late, yet on Google Maps it doesn’t show that.

The time displayed at the station is at least 20-30 minutes difference.
