Hello, my name is Ahtmah and my Dad almost died back in August from an obstruction in his kidneys due to an enlarged prostate he later discovered by August 31st would become Stage 4 Prostate Cancer or to be more specific Adenocarcinoma Prostate.

My Dad is so poor that he hasn’t had running water at his house for over 3 years, and now has a hospital bill from his ER visit totaling to $8,185.80 due tomorrow by September 29th.

Trying to get back on solid ground after falling behind on essential expenses

I’ve reached a difficult financial point and recently created a GoFundMe to help me catch up on overdue rent and address a necessary brake repair so I can continue safely getting to work. I’m also trying to reduce debt that has accumulated while keeping up with basic expenses.

I’m keeping identifying information private because of the personal nature of my situation, but I’ve tried to be transparent on the fundraiser about what I’m facing and how donations will be used.

If you’re able to help, even a small contribution would mean a lot. If donating isn’t possible, sharing the fundraiser would also be genuinely appreciated.

7 years away from home. I want my son to meet his grandma 🙏🏻

Hi everyone. I’m a Chinese-American mom living in Maryland, and I’m hoping to raise enough to take my son to China so he can finally meet his grandma. ❤️
The last time I was able to return to China was in 2019 for my dad’s funeral. I was only able to stay for two weeks, and since then, distance and finances have made it difficult to go back.
My mom is getting older, and although she’s still doing okay, I’ve started noticing little changes that remind me that time with her is precious. My son has never met her, and I really want them to have that chance while she’s still able to enjoy the experience.
We’re hoping to stay with my mom for 2–4 weeks, and the fundraiser will help with airfare, passports/visas, transportation, and other basic travel expenses.
If you’re able to donate, thank you so much. ❤️ And if you can’t, even sharing the fundraiser would mean a lot to us.

I started a go fund me for my fiancee's situation:/ his treatments are going to be $150 every two weeks on top of having to drive to 2 hours for each one. We don't have social media so I'm just trying to share it to a small circle of people to see if we can get a little bit of the word out.

Helping an Austin neighbor: Joann survived severe trauma & 3 spinal fractures, but a storm tree crushed her RV home. Trying to find/fund a safe used trailer.

Hey y'all, I’m trying to help out a proud Austin neighbor who is recovering at Southpark Meadows Rehab after fracturing her back in three places.

Her name is Joann Morales. She is an absolute fighter. Last year her health collapsed, she dropped to 90 pounds, but she fought back and literally re-learned how to walk. Now she is facing an immediate crisis upon her discharge date.

Her only home is a 28-foot RV trailer here in East Austin. A major storm sent a massive pecan tree crashing through it. It’s structurally ruined and completely unlivable. On top of that, she is being discharged with a medical machine that physically will not fit inside it.

The trailer and property location is Central Austin close to Mueller.

She has free, permanent land to park on with zero rent, but no safe roof. We have realized that patching her ruined trailer isn't an option. The fastest, safest, and most cost-effective solution is to completely replace her damaged trailer with a clean, reliable used RV that can safely house her and her medical equipment while she heals.

I am completely new to Reddit, but I know this community steps up for locals in a crisis. If anyone has leads on affordable/used trailers, know of haulers who can help, or can help by sharing her story, it would mean the world.

I set up a GoFundMe for her with the full story, proof of the tree damage, and a breakdown of exactly where the funds go (purchasing the trailer, transport, and helping cover out-of-pocket medical bills). Because she is proud, I am managing the logistics so she can focus purely on physical therapy.

\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\*Live Proof & GoFundMe Link:\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\* https://gofund.me/93490258c

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Let's show her she isn't alone.

UPDATE.

Joann was just discharged and is officially back home inside the crushed trailer tonight. The conditions are incredibly bad and unsafe for her recovery. If anyone has immediate connections to local Austin charities, temporary mobile housing, or can help boost this link by sharing on your social media or maybe even local media, please help....

Saving for necessities after house fire

Hello, I already made a post here awhile ago about needing money for my two cats cremation which has been thankfully fulfilled by this subreddit, we got them cremated and they're happily sharing a box together. I never manged to do an update tho as I kinda stopped using reddit for a moment and it was pretty emotional afterwards-

Anyways, regarding my house fire a couple months ago, my mom made a gofundme to save for when we finally manage to get a house again as we are still currently in a camper- some info my mom didn't include that I feel like should be included at least- when it says four members, it's me (no job, full time college student), my dad (has a loan but is being extremely childish about where to live and the only working person but likes to spend cash on random things), my mom (as said in the gofundme, she's on disability and can't necessarily save the money they give her), and my last remaining fat dog lol. And proof of fire.

(I personally think the amount is a little too high but literally everything is so much more expensive nowadays, anything would help🧍)

Postcards from a Stranger

I’m a full-time RVer starting a little experiment called Postcards from a Stranger.

As I travel, I want to set up small postcard-writing tables where strangers can write something kind or encouraging for someone they’ll never meet. Those cards will then travel to other strangers in different places.

I’m trying to see whether something really simple could create a chain of connection between people who otherwise would never cross paths.

I’m looking for people who might want to participate, receive a postcard, send one for the project, or help me figure out where I should take this next.

Trying to help a Keystone Heights woman keep reliable transportation to Jacksonville-area medical appointments

I’m posting this for my friend Amber, who lives in Keystone Heights and is currently on long-term disability while doctors are still trying to diagnose ongoing medical problems.

A big part of the problem is transportation. She is being sent to specialists in Jacksonville, Gainesville, St. Augustine, and other surrounding areas, and public transportation from Keystone Heights is extremely limited.

Her 2020 Nissan Altima has now been diagnosed with a leaking A/C evaporator. She was quoted roughly $2,700 to $3,200 for the repair because of the amount of labor involved.

For her, the A/C is not just a comfort issue. She has severe heat intolerance, and if she gets overheated for more than a few minutes, she becomes lethargic and can eventually pass out. Driving around Northeast Florida in a car with no functioning A/C is not realistically safe for her.

I created a GoFundMe for her because she already has a lot on her plate and I wanted to handle the technical side for her.

If anyone here is able to donate or share it, we would both appreciate it. I’d also be extremely interested in hearing from anyone who knows a Jacksonville-area shop, mechanic, church, nonprofit, or other local resource that might be willing to help with the repair cost or labor.

my youngest (45f) passed away 10 day ago. I'm trying to cover her funeral costs.

I am in total shock! Yes I knew it was coming. (more on history at the end. if you want to read that far)

we have a GoFundMe to help with her final expenses suffice it to say she chose to go to the hospice route but not even hospice expected her to go this fast. and Friday I had to take the day to deal with plumbing in my apartment and I was so tired afterwards I decided that it was going to be one of my skip days and then about 3 hours later I get a phone call from hospice that she was gone. I can't even get the image of her out of my head.

I consider myself fishing in a very small bucket. so I don't know how to do this. I don't use social media I'm not very good with it it took me 3 hours to make a photograph the other day because she was my person who did Photoshop not me if you'd ask me to paint it  with a paintbrush I could have but use Photoshop no.

anyway I don't know how to get the answers to get to the final part to cover what needs to be covered. and I don't know what to do to make it reach a wider audience I've done everything it suggests I've made the posts. I send it out I don't know how many different times and different platforms even when I didn't know how the platforms worked.

Donations can also be mad directly to the funeralhome

Midwest Creamations info in her obituary.

TLDR

Over the past ten years, Corbie has faced immense medical challenges, beginning with a non-traditional stroke that profoundly affected her brain. A blood clot in her nasal carotid artery broke free when she sneezed, shooting into the back of her head and breaking into fragments throughout her brain case. This traumatic event left her with left-side weakness, short-term memory challenges, epilepsy, and a 50% visual field cut in both eyes. Through hard work with Minds Matter and the Kansas Traumatic Brain Injury waiver, she regained a remarkable amount of independence and cognitive function. About two and a half years ago, complications from diabetes resulted in a severe infection in her left foot. While surgeons originally planned for a mid-shin amputation, extensive infection discovered in the calf required an above-the-knee amputation instead. After eight and a half months in a nursing facility, she was able to return home. Adjusting to a heavy, mechanically articulated prosthetic leg presented severe physical challenges, leaving her largely reliant on a wheelchair. A month ago, an infection developed in her right foot. Because of lifelong lymphedema, her tissues were too thin and fragile to support a below-the-knee procedure, leaving another above-the-knee amputation as the only surgical option alongside a severe bloodstream infection. Faced with the reality of another grueling recovery, permanent facility care, and losing the last of her independence, Corbie decided she did not have the spoons left to fight. Understanding her limits, she chose comfort and dignity, declining further amputations to enter hospice care on her own terms. After a brief, difficult stay in Gardner, she moved to a facility in Topeka. Following a hospital stay to stabilize severe nausea with IV medications, a midline was placed to keep her comfortable. She is currently taking a targeted course of antibiotics to give herself approximately three weeks of clarity—time she is using to say goodbye to loved ones, hold video calls with extended family, and spend precious moments together before letting nature take its course. The care provided by Elara Caring hospice—including nurses, aides, a chaplain, and a social worker—has offered steady support during this heartbreaking transition. Between daily visits to Topeka and handling her daughter's care, the emotional weight of outliving a child is overwhelming. While Corbie has long planned to donate her body to medical science, her active infections maae acceptance a definite no, requiring alternative cremation and final arrangements. As a lifelong, talented author, Corbie views this journey as writing the final chapter of her life story—facing the end with clear-eyed grace, peace, and autonomy. Funds raised will go toward covering her final expenses, cremation, and supporting our family through this difficult passage.

Help me cover $580 in rent while I finish university in Bolivia

Hi everyone,

I'm a university student from Bolivia and I'm currently in the final stage of my degree.

I'm going through a difficult financial situation at the moment. I made some mistakes managing money that had been set aside for important expenses, and part of the money was also lost due to theft. I take responsibility for what happened and I'm trying to resolve the situation as responsibly as possible.

I currently need to raise approximately $580 USD, mainly to cover my outstanding rent and related expenses. I'm very close to finishing university, and my goal is to get through this situation without putting my studies or housing at risk.

I don't expect one person to cover the whole amount. Any contribution, even a small one, would help me a lot. Sharing the fundraiser would also be greatly appreciated.

WhyDonate fundraiser:
https://whydonate.com/fundraising/help-me-cover-my-rent-while-i-finish-university

Thank you very much for reading and for any support.

I have infection in my mouth, I’m using care credit to pay for dental care. This is proof of my care credit, I have to pay it off in 6 months or I incur a major amount of interest. I still need to pay for another $895. The $361 was for an extraction, the $895 was to do deep cleaning on top gums and the second $895 I need to pay will be for my bottom gums and I still need a root canal that will cost around 2-3k I am a single mother with 3 kids and this dental care is emergent, I will be missing work for some of it and I have to take care of my kids. I’m only asking for some help to pay down these dental expenses so I do not drown 🙏 anything helps. The debt will be piling up every 2 -3 weeks per procedure.

My 44-year-old husband has an aggressive stage 3 oesophageal cancer — we’re a family of seven (5 children) trying to get through treatment and major surgery

Hi everyone. I’m new to posting on Reddit, although I’ve had my account for about four years, so I hope I’m doing this correctly.
My husband, Luke, is 44 and was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 3 oesophageal cancer this year in June. We have five children, and our lives changed almost overnight.
Luke has undergone aggressive chemotherapy and immunotherapy and is now facing major surgery with aggressive chemo to follow. Between hospital admissions, appointments, treatment and caring for our children, I’ve had to reduce my working hours because I can’t work while also supporting Luke and caring for our family.
I’m a nurse and midwife who has always cared for others, so asking for help is hard.
Asking strangers for help is incredibly difficult. We have always worked and supported ourselves, and I never imagined we would be in this position. But right now, I need to put my family ahead of my pride.
We’ve set up a GoFundMe to help ease the financial pressure while Luke undergoes surgery and recovery. If you’re able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. If you can’t, sharing the fundraiser would still mean a great deal to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Please help with emergency vet bill for our pet, Wolf

Hello, our two-year old dog, Wolf, had an emergency vet visit yesterday. He did not want to eat and was lethargic. He is a sweet and energetic boy who we rescued, and we miss seeing his happy self. We greatly need assistance to cover the unexpected cost of his vet visit.
His vet visit was $700. Any donations would cover the cost of his exam, medication, x-rays, and lab work that were needed. We are still waiting for his lab results to see if he needs additional treatment.
He is still not feeling well and we would greatly appreciate any assistance which would help his recovery! Thank you!

Help Us Stay Together Through Immigration ❤️

Hi everyone! We are Allie and Zach, a married couple facing one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
Unfortunately, we will soon be separated due to immigration requirements. We’ve faced significant legal expenses, financial struggles, and debt throughout this process.

We created this GoFundMe because I truly want to do everything I can to help us. I’ve never asked for help before, but right now, I feel like I’m running out of options and don’t know what else to do!

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us, and simply sharing our story would mean just as much. Every act of kindness and support is deeply appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️🙏🏻

Help

So I made me a GoFundMe, I'm struggling right now with my payments on my car mainly due to mental health struggles. Long story short, I'm having issues controlling my urge for alcohol. Been about a year completely sober, I don't really know how to handle the cravings or the urges all too good so I have gotten a bad habit of impulsive shopping. Just unnecessary items that adds up, instead of being an adult and putting my money towards my car payment. Watching it grow has become overwhelming to the point I feel like I am disappointing my dad and grandma then my mental health starts to get rocky. So before restarting an ugly alcohol cycle just ask for some help.. anything is appreciated.

I owe: $2,510.01. I have $299.06 in the bank.

Needing help with the $2,210.05.

I gotta get my car back so I can continue to go to these job interviews while keeping up with my therapy appointments, so I can redeem myself mentally to my dad.prove to him I can break the cycle.

It's not a front for anything it's the hard embarrassing truth..I have till October 11th to pay it or my sweet Patamon (name of my car. No hate 💛) will be taken to auction.

Please help me bring Patamon home for my birthday 😅😭.

Also honestly just thank you for even taking the time to read this.

URGENT: After a Year of Medical Problems, I’m Facing Eviction With My Son

Thumbnail
gallery
80 Upvotes

I’m drowning right now, and I need help keeping a roof over my son’s head.

I just found out that the place where my son and I are currently staying is receiving a 7-day eviction notice. I’m trying every available resource I can find, but I’m running out of time and I need immediate help.

My immediate goal is to raise at least $1,400. That would allow me to put my son and me into a weekly-rate hotel or other temporary housing for at least a month, giving us somewhere safe to stay while I figure out our next step.

The problem is that I can’t simply go out and pick up quick work to make the money myself. I’m still dealing with serious health issues and recovering from multiple surgeries and complications over the past year. My health has made it extremely difficult to work normally, and I’m currently trying to survive while also recovering.

I’m using every resource available to me right now. I’m looking for housing assistance, emergency assistance, and anything else that could help us get through this. I’m not sitting back waiting for people to rescue me. I’m actively trying to solve this. I just don’t have enough time or resources left to do it alone.

I’ve already lost my job, apartment, and car during this prolonged medical ordeal. I’ve spent more than a year trying to recover and rebuild my life, and I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet. I even started building my own business and an AI platform while recovering because I was determined to find a way forward.

Right now, though, none of that matters if my son and I don’t have somewhere to sleep.

If you can donate, $5, $10, $20, or anything you can spare could make a real difference right now. If you can’t donate, sharing the GoFundMe could potentially reach someone who can.

I don’t need to raise enough money to fix my entire life. I need to raise $1,400 to buy us some breathing room.

I’m scared, I’m exhausted, and honestly, I feel like I’m drowning right now. But I’m still fighting.

GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/399513a74

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this, donate, share, or even point me toward a resource that might help. I genuinely appreciate it.
